Mandalorian Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 This is a wip of bossk based off of the ds_trandoshan. the head has been re-scaled and the bodies details made into separate pieces. What do you guys think?here's a better pic of the separated pieces Ruxith, Barricade24, Bek and 9 others like this
Circa Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Nice! Though the head looks too thin to me. Barricade24 likes this
Mandalorian Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I looked at a few photos and it seems right to me. Might make the whole body bigger rather than change the head. The other head was to big.
Mandalorian Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I've changed the scaling of the body to be a bit bulkier. It looks more proportionate.Cleaned the textures up a bit.
Barricade24 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Looks great! I was thinking not too long ago that Bossk didn't seem as bulky as he could be. One recommendation though is that his skin tone should be quite a bit lighter. As seen here: http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130219044712/starwars/images/1/1d/Bossk.png But yeah, I agree with Circa, the head looks to small. I also think is jumpsuit is more of a lighter yellow.
DarthStiv Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 He's legs should be a bit more slim, isn't it?Look what I mean: KyleKatarn1995, Bek and yeyo JK like this
Bek Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The arms are much longer, like way much longer.
AshuraDX Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The arms are much longer, like way much longer. impossible to do without making a new skeleton Mandalorian and Bek like this
Bek Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Bossk needs a new model in general, I have no idea who would like to take that on.
Circa Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The arms are much longer, like way much longer. Those pictures look exactly the same to me.
Boothand Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Bossk needs a new model in general, I have no idea who would like to take that on. One of my projects here is based directly on Bossk.http://jkhub.org/topic/4493-trandoshan-variant/?hl=trandoshan If there's interest, maybe I'll do some more on it this week. DerFürst Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The fact that his head looks slightly smaller gives the illusion that the rest of his body is larger and bulkier than it is, even when you've edited the proportions a bit. Take for example Kenshiro of Fist of the North Star. Despite the fact that Kenshiro is both taller, wider, and bulkier than the man in this image, his head is actually about the same size or smaller. Personally, I thought the first image was fine, save for the calves which were slightly larger in diameter than they should be. The shape of it was fine though, as bossk has reptile features and doesn't have clearly defined calf muscles like in humans.
Bek Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Those pictures look exactly the same to me.Really? Look at the two detonators on his suit for a frame of reference, then compare it to the actual model Mando made.
IrocJeff Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Maybe his legs are thicker cause he's retaining water. Ya know, fluid build up.
Kualan Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Guys, we need to bear in mind the limitations of the JKA skeleton. This is a very good looking Bossk and the best we could hope for in a game like JKA, which can not handle non-human bodyshapes without an entire new skeleton. Bek, Mandalorian and Jeff like this
Futuza Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 This is a lovely Bossk! Jolly and Mandalorian like this
Jolly Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 This is a wip of bossk based off of the ds_trandoshan. the head has been re-scaled and the bodies details made into separate pieces. What do you guys think?here's a better pic of the separated piecesThe textures on the torso could be worked on. The head is a bit odd looking, it is in a bit of a disproportion to the torso, and the eye color is a bit off. They have kinda flat faces if you get what I mean other than that, the body looks awesome, though mabye a bit lighter yellow. Keep up the good work. Jolly Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 He's legs should be a bit more slim, isn't it?Look what I mean: No thats quite inaccurate to the movie, he had thicker legs. Here is a pic for reference Barricade24, Langerd and KyleKatarn1995 like this
Circa Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So thick, in fact, that you can tell that they are actually boots. Jeff, Tempust85, Bek and 1 other like this
IrocJeff Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So thick, in fact, that you can tell that they are actually boots. Wouldn't that be a hoot if his culture made their footware actually look like their feet. Bek, Futuza and Jeff like this
Mandalorian Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Well I am glad for all the feedback. I wanted to change the arms but the skeleton limits this, like has been commented on. The textures aren't perfect but It stil is an improvement overall. The head has been adjusted and the straps and chest details have been cut from the model completely and extruded. It's not the best but it is a few hours of work, not sure how much more will go into it.I fixed the snout a bit was to long for my liking. DarthStiv, KyleKatarn1995, Kualan and 7 others like this
