  1. I'm confident that if you give a normal _humanoid model the jetpack tags from the rocket trooper and make him class_rockettrooper, he will fly and the effects will play accordingly. The worst thing that I can imagine will happen is what happens to the mandalorian NPCs with Boba Fett class that don't have the proper tags, the effect plays from below their feet. 

     

    You could just copy the tags from Boba Fett onto whatever model you want to use the jetpack.

    It goes with all tags i believe. The cool thing is that we can add more diffrent ones.. dont know for sure how the game will load them.

     

    I wonder if someone could do this for R2D2? :winkthumb:

    It is possible but it also requires some animations work. 

     

     

  2. I love the idea of bounty hunters using droids to take on force sensitive people. Kind of makes sense, since it's harder to sense something that isn't a living being. 

    I .. created monsters O__O i made them very fast - they are using the CLASS_Rockettrooper and it is shooting with repeater. The only new thing i was thinking about - Javis and 6 of those drones. If Vader will destroy one of them - after 6 seconds there came another drone. 

    That made fight more annoying but more challange and skill is required. They are flying everywhere - because of speed sometimes even behind my back. 

     

    Now there is only create them scripts that change them to the droids a little and of course make spawn script after destroying one of them. ;) 

     

    (i gave them weapon called weapon_jawa... They destroyed me so fast that it is ridiculous.. so i changed them to the repeaters. I am thinking about mixing three weapons - blaster alternative , repeater normal and disruptor normal)

  3. Ok ! So .. as long i remember i was checking player models ones for how tags are made and how they are named in overall.. I found out that Boba Fett model has extra tags for his jetpack and flamethrower (i remember jetpack .. i could be wrong about the second tho). After that i wanted to check how it was made for the non _humanoid models. I mean - rockettrooper hazardtrooper etc. Now i want to make someone use jetpack ... and i have on my mind this thought :


    - If the Boba has special tags for jetpack .. and they have names for the game to load the fire effect what will happen if i will add the tags from the rockettrooper model to the normal _humanoid AND make npc file that use CLASS_ROCKETROOPER?

    My point is that - The game loads effect with the class and tag names or is there something else?

  4. I'm 99% sure you can do that without a script. Instead of making the barrier a brush, make it a simple patch mesh, that way it becomes a one-sided forcefield,allowing your enemy to shoot at you, but blocking any missile brom the other side. 

    I used the Byss shield shader for that! i made 3x3 patch plane and i put it on the forcefield generators. The patches are great because they are one side only and i found out that we can shoot throught them if we are standing on the side without the texture. It is cool thing because we can use it in the lot scenarios and situations. The texture can be invisible as well and it would create weird effect when enemy can shoot You but Your blaster bolts are exploding in the air :) 

     

    For sentry droids i want to make them annoying as hell. It will be hard because of the fact that Javis can knockback us. Droids will deal extra damage to You if You will not get up quickly because blocking from laying on the ground is not working ;)

    Of course there will elite besping guards to kick our asses and i want to add rebel soldiers to the mix. We will fight :

     

    bespin cops, elite bespin cops , cyborgs (Lobot like) , ugnaughts, ugnaughts droids (these are WIP because i made one project but it was not near in the atmosphere to the cloud city so i want to make new one from scratch) , Rebel soldiers , maybe wookies, i am also thinking about making bothans and of course Jedi Bosses. 

     

    but i have a problem - their lasers are invisible.. had this bug before but can someone tell me how to fix this?

  5. Do the textures you are trieing to replace come with a shader?

     

    If not you could try setting up a shader for the original texture path, but then use differently named textures for the singular stages.

    That is weird -  You cant change the texture by changing the paths AFTER baking the map BUT You can change the shader and it will work.. the same goes making this textures glow or be transparent... what the hell??

     

    ...as long i remember You can do that. Changing baked texture into the shader is somehow ... editable?

    Now i am about to Show You the Second Boss Fight !  

     

    It is Javis behind the shield barrier shooting Vader from the top. Important thing (i want to make script like this) - Javis can shoot us from this barrier but we.. cant. He is using the concussion rifle (Dlt20a - Pulse Cannon in my mod) and i want to scrpit him to be using normal and alt firing (mostly the Altternative) 

     

    I will not tell You want You need to do here! It will be for You to guess I hope for near future ;)

  7. Do you know 'Star Wars: Despecialized Edition' by Harmy? It's a fan-project that recreates the theatrical cuts of the classic trilogy. Google it.

     

    At least 'A New Hope' and 'The Empire Strikes Back' have about 16 different audio tracks, including Japanese. It shouldn't be a problem to

    extract the dialogs from Japanese audio track.

     

    Holy Shit! XD I would take someone with more bass voice tho

  8. I know this is going to sound interesting for Star Wars, Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune was originally going to be casted as either Obi-Wan Kenobi or Darth Vader. Of course he turned down those two roles and says he wasn't interested. But what if he actually took the role for one of those two characters? I wonder if we can somehow make Toshiro Mifune's head and place it on an existing model of Obi-Wan Kenobi from Episode 4? Or how about even better, what if we got the Samurai Vader model made by darkapprentice and use that to place the head of Toshiro Mifune and put the helmet on top so he would look like a true Samurai in black armor!? That's something that we would've totally gotten for Star Wars! Who would love that!? :D

    To be honest.. I always thought that it would be cool that Anakin was Asian Guy.. (correct me pls if i sounded rude.. i am not racist)  Vader is my Favourite character .. His very powerful well constructed sentences are very like Samurai or just Guy Who is not stupid but rather very powerful wise warrior. 

     

    That Topic here is something i always thought about. That is Why i always Loved Vader from Episode V .. He is so amazing character.. mysterious wise but also very powerful and fearsome. Making him talking Hard sound Japanese WOULD BE AMAZING!

     :S I dont know.. I dont like it like that. i thought that there are a lot of models made like You saw on the pic. I wanted to make big glassy helmet that is in some way out of proportion (that may look like mistake but i made it that way on purporse) and it Gives him a little mystery.

    Today i will try to upload something for You Guys ;) I made a Arena (big Hall) with him as a BOSS!!! That is right. I added some func_breakables around  ;) Have on mind that he is using the Battlefront like Pulse Cannon sooo.. i made that weapon (him) powerful . In my story this DLT20a that he is using is modified. 

    Dlt20a - not modified is disruptor
    Dlt20a - modified is concussion rifle.

    But i will try to give You some screens soon ^^.

    I am rly proud that You like his look! I tried to make him memorable character.

    • An object can be cut anywhere, as specific as the player likes.

    • The engine dynamically generates inside-faces for where geometry has been cut, and applies an appropriate texture to it.

    • The objects can be cut multiple times, at as many different angles, and re-cut any of the cut-off pieces into smaller chunks.

      I mean imagine Jk3 lightsaber combat with this .. cutting someone with the strong m1+w attack in the half

  11. Yeah .. Dismemberment like in Metal Gear Rising Revengence .. I was always curious how did they make it?? Sometimes models are cut in the places where polys are not stick together ... How?? Is it like we were cutting the edges of the model.. this would generate new polys or something

    i dont know.. I always wanted for Jk3 an SP mod when we can simply dismember enemies with the blasters. It would be cool to shoot someone with the flechette and completely destroy guy into pieces.

  12. It might just be me, but his head looks a little bit too big. However, since it's the Star Wars universe could it be that he isn't human, but a humanoid like species with big heads (like the Duros)?

     

    A simple observation/suggestion that I could make regarding his design, is that if you see some of the most iconic Star Wars bounty hunters, like Boba Fett, Cad bane, Embo, IG-88, Dengar and others, is that: 

     

    a) Sometimes they have something that makes them distinct, a personal banner-like symbol, (the mandalorian skull in Boba Fett, Embo has his own insignia in his armor, Cad Bane his hats), or 

     

    b) Their equipment is dirty. The best bounty hunters are the ones with most experience, and it shows in their worn equipment. Their armor has scratches, their clothes have dirt, sometimes they carry memorablia from previous jobs (boba fett's wookiee braids, for example). Try to give your character some visual cues that help us imagine what his backstory is. 

     

    I really like the idea of a sniper that stalks you. I was recently playing the Nina series and I got killed so many times by snipers I didn't see, it was quite amusing. 

    Yes ! I am going to change him a little and give him something unique ;) . To be honest i was always thinking the same way.. is like with knights

  13. The Bounty Hunter - One of the best snipers in the Galaxy - Javis (this is still WIP) He will be a mini Boss.. annoying as hell Dude. He has amazing reflexes - he can hit me while i am using force speed jumping.. so fighting him You should rly use some cover.

    The internet is so .. big thing.. NOBODY has 100% control about it.. Nobody has 100% to control like You said - that model will be used in trailer or in the game as the modification or someone will 3D print it and make cosplay or something... but to be honest many moves like this are not only promoting the original thing but also it is kinda tribute by the person who is doing this... Someone dont know how to model in 3D but know how to make cool cosplay. They print 3D models as armor parts and use them to make the costume... and what now? Now that person should be called pirate asshole that completely shit on the source that he made costume of? NO .. He would be asshole if he would make that costume - from 3D parts of the model from Battlefront for example. Said that he made 100% of it and made it only for sale - money purpose.

     

    Or there were many games that took other models from other games - sometimes even map files.. Stealing assholing ... my god. 

     

    This is very important thing - taking thing and saying MINE MINE is bad.. but taking things and saying : I LOVE STAR WARS !! I MADE IT FROM THE GAME BUT MANY TIME SPENT TO MAKE THAT COSTUME!!  Is tribute. Fans are always want to promote and show how THEY LOVE content and history etc. .. They do not steal. This is my opinion .. Of course in some point doing this in a lot amount.. is starting to look bad as well.... ekhm.. lately porting madness on the Hub
