  1. Probably cg_shadows 3. It's pretty much a mixture of cg_shadows 1 and 2: 0 renders none, 1 renders a circular shadow under the model (option Simple in the settings), 2 renders a volumetric shadow (Volumetric), 3 projects a shadow similar to the volumetric one, but horizontally instead of projecting it on the geometry around and without rendering it on the player itself (Projected).

    Yeah, we’ve actually decided to go with “projected shadows”, ‘cos it gives a much better shadow effect, overall. It might still need some minor tweaking here and there, but the overall result is much better than our previous versions.

  2. Ok, so I’m just wondering if anyone knows or can point me in the right direction, as to what all the dynamic glow and dynamic light commands are, in the console?

    r_dynamiclight = 1 (I know “1” is to turn on dynamic light and “0” is to turn it off)

    r_DynamicGlowWidth = 320

    r_DynamicGlowSoft = 1

    r_DynamicGlowPasses = 5

    r_DynamicGlowIntensity = 1.13f

    r_DynamicGlowHeight = 240

    r_DynamicGlowDelta = 0.8f

    If there’s any info anywhere, regarding this.. It’d be a big help.

    Thanks!

    Hello everyone this is big moist with a big message:

    I've compiled a list after asking around and made a video about the 10 things JKA players hate the most. You might not agree or have things to add - and that's OK! I know there is plenty of room for another list.

    Please have a look, the rest of my channel has tons of JKA videos too.

    I'm having alot of fun making them and I guess it's my way of supporting this now pretty old game.

    I'd say this would be more appropriately named "Top 10 things all JKA Multiplayer players hate", 'cos this only applies to Multiplayer modes and not all JKA players play Multiplayer. What's wrong with the Kyle skin? I don't see any issues. Certainly not to make it the No.1 most hated thing.

  4. Nice. Is there any way to replicate this without coding for JA/OpenJK? Maybe finding the "ball glow" texture and changing it?

    No. As tompa said, it's a change within the code, that renders an additional glow around the top of the hilt/bottom of the blade. It's not a graphic or image file that can be removed from the assets. So, you'd need to code it in to an OpenJK build, if you'd want to implement it.

  5. Another valid point is to keep the EU stuff as bonus material for those who enjoyed it. In the bonus section area.

    Yeah, we won't remove the EU material that we have. We still have characters from the EU, in the character selection screen in "EXTRAS", so to remove their missions from the mod would invalidate their need to be included in the mod, which we don't want to do. So those missions and characters will remain in the mod, but the current/new canon versions of missions will be the ones that are actually tied into the "MISSIONS" screen. And then have the EU missions as bonus missions.

  6. So I discovered this mod yesterday, and find myself to be personally quite excited about it as I am very fond of the original. However I have a question concerning one of the SP missions, An Old Enemy, which features Darth Maul fighting Ben Kenobi on Tatooine. The original version of said mission was based on the old EU Star Wars comic Old Wounds, and had Obi-Wan and Maul fighting on Tatooine during the daylight, and Maul having the dark Grevious-like legs which he sported when he first appeared in Clone Wars. I mention this because I would like to know whether or not this mission will it be changed in order to be based more on the recent Star Wars Rebels episode Twin Suns, which featured Ben Kenobi fighting Maul on Tatooine at night around a unlit campfire. I personally wouldn't mind the mission being changed to follow closer to the Star Wars Rebels episode, but I wanted to bring this up and ask.

    You raise a very valid point. However, it is highly likely that the version we'll go with, will be the current canon/Rebels version. As this ties in with the rest of the mod, which are all canon events. Otherwise, we'll end up having the canon and old EU intertwining with other, so it would mess with the continuity. Especially when we come to add Vader's 'Rogue One' scene and the Sequel era content, along with the Original Trilogy , of course.

  7. *Minor Update*

    Just to keep you guys up to speed with the mod's progress.. This past weekend, we're pleased to welcome @@swegmaster and @@JediNoob124 on to the team. JediNoob124 is primarily working on audio/soundtracks and sound editing, whereas swegmaster is working on cut-scene animation tweaks and animation, in general (still early learning days for him, so we wish him luck in becoming more experienced as he progresses) and overall cut-scene improvements, so each scene feels more authentic to its movie counter-part.

    I can also tell you, as a small teaser, that I myself, have listened to some of JediNoob124's sound work and it is practically spot-on.. And swegmaster's overall cut-scene improvements are really beginning to make each scene much better, as he's finding new changes and improvements to make, that we hadn't noticed, originally. Combine that with the work the rest of the team are doing and you're in for a real treat, when the mod finally goes LIVE!.

  8. But that has negative connotations. Are not you a Dark Side supremacist?

    In a nutshell, yes.. But it's only by my life experiences that've led me down that path. It's the reason why I feel so angry, all the time.. And also because I feel far more connected to the Dark Side, than I ever did, to the Light Side, growing up. I can understand and appreciate the Sith views, because it's part of who we are, as humans. The Sith code is naturally embedded in to our genes and DNA. The Light Side is far too restrictive and dogmatic (particularly the Jedi), allowing for no emotions or feelings. etc. That's basically cutting us off from who we really are. That we're not allowed to love or feel anything for anyone. I don't wanna live in a world like that. A world without love, passion or any type of emotion. So I won't follow the Jedi code. As far as I'm concerned, the Jedi are/were the bad guys and the Rebel Scum are the true terrorists, in the Star Wars universe.

  9. What's wrong with falling to the Dark Side?! You say it like it's a bad thing..

    The Force is balance. It doesn't favour either the Light Side or the Dark Side. The Jedi only know a fraction of the Force and some are even powerful in its use, but they'll never understand the true nature of what the Force is and its potential. To become stronger, you must embrace a larger view (As Palpatine said), not just the narrow, dogmatic view of the Jedi. You must embrace destiny and be the spear-head, that is moving forward all the time.

    Look at Anakin, he did what had to be done. He brought balance to the Force, by his actions. The Light Side.. The Dark Side. It all depends on your point of view and again, like Palpatine said.. Good is merely a point of view.

  10. I also have his nemesis, the Sovereign Protector Kir Kanos.

    Kirkanos.png

    Both were super easy to kitbash. Also for the comic, mainly, but if I can get the staff to agree to a release I will.

    There is some conflicting artwork around their stave weapons and capes. Some show Kanos with a silver hilted weapon, with a maroon/ royal purple cape interior and only a red exterior. Whereas others show a gold hilted weapon and a full red cape. Which one would you prefer?

    Somewhat off-topic.. But y'know, that picture behind the character models, would make for an excellent skybox on a map somewhere.
