  1. Exactly. A Gray Jedi Knight would aid the Dark Side if the Light had blinded the universe. He/she would not necessarily partake in the battle, but they would definitely aid the Dark Side to rise to its former position in the balance of the Force. Just look at Jolee Bindo in KOTOR. He was there to make sure the balance stays in balance, whether Revan had turned to the Dark or Light Side in the end. A true Gray Jedi recognises the need for harmony as well as the need for conflict. The need for selflessness as well as the values of individuality. They serve the balance between the Dark and the Light, owing allegiance to neither side, but to the balance itself -- or, in the case of Jolee, to the balance as well as his own amusement.
  2. Another interesting thing to note is that a Jedi is generally *not* more powerful than a Sith (as an individual), but in fighting a great Jedi Knight, a Sith is truly facing the Light Side of the Force, and affecting the balance between the two sides. A Jedi Knight is only powerful when the Force commands it to restore the balance. Otherwise he/she is weak by individual power standards -- since there is supposed to be no individual power or ambition thriving within a Jedi Knight.
  3. Hahaha! Oh dear, @@Darth Sion -- SuperCarlinBrothers is a Sith! XD Being a true Jedi Knight means being selfless, living for the Force rather than one's own development or benefit. Jedi are guardians of the Light Side of the Force, of balance and harmony. They are the yin. In opposition, the Sith are Knights of the Dark Side of the Force, concentrated on progress, control, and self-development (power). They are advocates of the benefits of chaos and individual qualities to make progress. They are the yang. The amusing thing is that one without the other would cause unbalance. The world needs both, and true harmony lies in-between, in the mutual struggle of these two forces with one another. That is the awareness of a Gray Jedi Knight -- my chosen pathway.
  4. Landing at Point Rain is one of the most in-depth looks into the realistic personal experience of partaking in a Star Wars battle -- the extreme challenges of the Clone Wars Jedi -- and Luke's father at his best.

If Rogue One matches the hype, it may top that. Looks to be very 'real' and 'gritty' for its battle scenes.

It's a ginormous "if", in my opinion ^^

  5. I do believe she could be worked into this if someone really aspired to do it. She just needs reshaped montrals/lekkus, and a few extra layers of clothing on top. (Could be done with kitbashing.) I'm not one for the job, though. (Not a fan of Rebels, or the new Ahsoka -- not in the least.)
  6. Hahaha! OMG, this is brilliant!
  7. I've been waiting long for this! Finally, a Death Star map made for FFA, with blaster-at-your-sides in mind, kids.
  8. Brain-worm infested creeps! Two thumb up!
  9. Can't wait for the next issue.
  10. Warning: Do NOT watch this video if you were perfectly happy with TFA, and wish to keep hyped about the new Star Wars sequels! It is a major spoiler for the fun factor!!! Seriously, for your own good, don't. I like to be always perfectly honest with myself, and this video review echoes much of my (harshly) critical view of the new film, as well. I did not like the prequel trilogy films, but I do believe they carry more value than the new film. The new film is awesome fun? Sure, I guess. (I did enjoy watching it in a way.) Any lasting, original Star Wars content? Mmm... seriously arguable...
  11. If I try to make something scary, it'll end up being cute, so I think I'll try to stay clear of this one. XD But will enjoy being spooked by the stuff that pops up. Will we have a server event to celebrate/showcase all the mods created?
  12. Well, as a last resort, the game has been up for grabs for about $10 on GOG: https://www.gog.com/game/beyond_good_and_evil (And you'll be supporting both GOG and the making of the new game that way -- and help put an end to the Steam/corporate DRM reign.)
  13. I will have a look at editing and scripting in the ambience sounds when the time comes. I've found a new, powerful (and open source) editor that lets me edit audio and video material easily, and I'm in the process of learning it at the moment. P.S. I like "cor1" -- sounds fitting as a background track.
  14. Actually, I'll have to contest that one. I've configured my gamepad to have the left joystick strafe and move forward and backward, and the right joystick for aim/turn in JA. Can do it all. The only thing is it feels different, and turning with a joystick is always slower than turning with a mouse -- and let's face it, JA requires split-second turning in a duel. But if everyone was forced to play with a gamepad, I think dueling in the game would actually be a better experience overall (more movie-like, and less crazy with the custom turning/sensitivity settings). As for SP, there are no problems playing JA with a gamepad. It actually feels a little better, depending on what you like, of course.
  15. In that case we should join efforts. There's no sense in doing this project twice (unless there are considerable structural/design differences).
  16. Best cosmetic mod for JA since the beginning of time. Two thumbs up -- would give you five if I had five limbs.
  17. Pretty sure it's still relevant. There's no reason they would willingly choose to do double the work. It still looks like top gaming material to this day.
  18. Any progress on this is welcome progress for me. Just keep me in the loop (so when I get around to working on this, we're not doing useless double-work).
  19. Incidentally, just started playing this game for the first time. Liking it so far. Screenshot from the new game in dev.: And gameplay footage:
  20. Thanks @@Ramikad. It seems "npc spawn <npcname> <targetname>" is the longest line we can have from the "npc spawn" command/feature. Everything else is defined in the NPC files themselves (their behaviour, items, etc.).
  21. What parameters does the "npc spawn" console command take other than "vehicle", the name of the NPC/vehicle, and a targetname for the spawned NPC (to kill them with later)? Any takers?
  22. Didn't know you could do that with a wireless Xbox 360 controller, but if you can, that's pretty much the same thing, yeah. (I've kind of grown attached to my lil' PC gamepad.)
  23. With OpenJK in Windows (8.1), if you set it to a higher resolution (your laptop screen's native res.), the game will scale down to 720p or 1080p automatically (if you plug in the HDMI before starting the game) without changing any of your custom settings, which I found really nifty! (Just make sure you don't close your laptop's lid completely, as then things go haywire res-wise.) As for the gamepad, I can highly recommend the Logitech F710 from my own experience: (Though keep in mind that JA was not really designed for gamepad-based control, so your overall skill-based performance/accuracy/mobility may vary from what you are used to with the keyboard & mouse. ) For reference, a 1080p TV has 1920x1080 pixels as its res., while a 720p TV has 1280x720. Your maximum res. depends on what 1) your TV supports as maximum, and 2) your graphics card supports. Most of today's graphics cards can easily display over 1080p though.
