I'm 100% nobody gives a shit about the races or sexual orientations of any of the characters involved in any movie until the producers make cheap publicity stunts in the media. How many times have we seen annoying headlines like 'Beauty and the Beast will include a gay character', like if that made that turd a better movie.

True, more than ten years ago nobody gave a shit about the barman of Shrek II being a transgender in love with the Prince.

Nobody cared about one of the characters in Paranorman being gay either, since they didn't make a publicity stunt surrounding it, it was just a small gag in the story.

yeah I managed to lower the vert count by almost 300 vertices and around that much faces as well and with changing the uv map to a bake-ready map and texturing it, this is what came out. I made a new windows instalation and got a completely new version of Substance Painter and I just needed a simple model to try it out.

At least the last line, where I ask everyone to keep returning to the topic, discuss things with me and help me create the shape of my packs. It's gotta be good for everyone and more eyes see more things!

You got me there. Well, let's just say that I never like to use someone else's work. People who port things are usually quite good in what they're doing and they need to model or texture sometimes so yeah, I can't say that it's for amateurs or anything, cause it's not.

Well yeah, but you could argue that it's creativity that separates an artist from a machine. Porting a model into another game would be just as artistic as making a original model with fresh textures, me thinks. I think we the reason we praise modelers over porters is because it's much easier to port a model into a game, then create one from scratch. But I think we all need to keep in mind that there's no artistic scale. Both are equal, artistically.

If you ask me, the series is less child oriented than it was 10 years ago. But that's just my opinion.

Ooh, It looks like we have a half-half situation here! Maybe the new movie does have something going for it after all. Will be interesting to see if the new trilogy stays with us after all the hype passes. Perhaps I'm looking at it from the wrong perspective. (Wouldn't be the first time.)

 

I think I'll keep watching what Disney's doing, albeit with a cautious and critical eye. Hopefully there is some merit here (that I'm not seeing yet).
