    It's been a loooooong road. I hate looking at page one of this thread, lol. The progress made since makes it alllll look like poop.Now seems to be the time to say though: wouldn't have really made it here without some of the badass people in the community. Little things here and there make all the difference- guys like Kualan suggesting scratch brushes or Ashura pushing toward model optimization and teaching me how to use XNormal or Jeff explaining weighing. It's cool to see such a welcome and helpful community.

    Hey guys! My first from scratch modeling job, I'd say this didn't turn out too shabby! I will say in advance: THIS WEAPON DOES NOT HAVE A 1ST PERSON PERSPECTIVE. This weapon also will replace this Imperial Heavy Repeater. Anyway, this is the A280 blaster rifle. Some specs: "During the Galactic Republic's final years, the A280 blaster rifles were commonly used by local planetary forces which made them readily available on the black market, thus the Rebel Alliance acquired them with ease, and began to utilize it throughout their fight against the Galactic Empire. During the Battle of Hoth, some of the rebel troopers were armed with A280 blaster rifles to hold off the incoming Imperial attackers until the evacuation transports flee away. Major Lokmarcha used an A280 during Operation Yellow Moon. The rifles were also used when the Rebel Alliance planned to assault the newly constructed Death Star II by infiltrating the surface of Endor and destroying the Death Star's shield generator."

    Yeah boy, thank you. Not bad for about an hourish of work I suppose. Decided to fuck around for a sec and check out the weapon using texture I'd get from my resource image. \ EDIT: second image has significant progress

    Heh, the scope area is gonna be a pain in my ass to model, but I'll give it a try. No promises I'll ever release this either as a functional weapon, but yaknow. I'll try.

    I seriously despise the internet sometimes because people like to take credit for others' work. That being said, it is to be expected from degenerates. If someone stole my work, I'd be pissed- but also flattered, due to the fact people believe my models are good enough to be stolen. I know that's a "dumb" point of view, but.

    So for my first actual 100% from scratch model, I decided why not be ambitious. I don't know if I'll ever finish it but here's a few hours of work.
