  1. That looks really good! I look forward to seeing that released! If Barricade finishes his, I'm sure it'll be a tough choice between the two.
  2. You are a genius. I checked to make sure my NPCs were on the up and up. Lo and behold they had an NPC_spawner field with a value of the NPC, instead of NPC_type. Not sure how that happened. Fixed those and all is well. Thank you, sir.
  3. Definitely not the script. Because I removed all that I did and it still crashes.
  4. So I deleted the lift that I created and tested, and it loaded fine. So I rebuilt it, and not it's crashing again. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm following @@Lazarus' tutorial here: https://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/191-scripted-elevators/ EDIT: Just deleted it and tried again and it crashed still. I'm so confused.
  5. Just use the ones that are already made for JKA. They look good for this engine. You're not going to get modern looking models like Battlefront's in JKA. Just isn't going to happen.
  6. This is all in a clean base folder EDIT: looks like it works in OpenJK fine...
  7. So I know what bevels it's talking about, and I thought I had deleted them. Can't find any more anywhere. And the map loaded fine with them in it before. So I'm not sure that's the issue...
  8. I might be using this thread multiple times for my many issues. So I spent awhile adding lots of content before testing in-game again, so I have no idea why I'm crashing this time. The log says the following: Ignore the dewback animevents, I've been getting those since including it. But I put some jawas in my map, so I get the jawa error BUT why is it saying it can't find these random things? player/model.glm? wut. The invalid bevel was also something I did awhile ago and it loaded fine before. No errors in Radiant, either.
  9. I understand that people have a lot of WIPs, but can you go back to making separate threads for them?

Does that follow option actually work? I tried it for my Skipray thread, but didn't seem to have any actual effect.

I use it for all my threads. Tells you when someone replies. Works for me. Maybe check your notification settings on your account?

Ah, that was it. Didn't even know that section existed. Thanks for the help.

  10. SWJK.in is paired with JK3.in Hello! Many of you hopefully know that we offer a couple service to the Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy community, such as the JKHub Bar, making it easier to connect with other groups and clans around the community. Another one is mod project forums, giving mod teams an easy way to work and share progress on their projects. One of our most popular ones is the JK3.in server IP shortcut. If you've ever played the games on multiplayer, you probably have run into the issue where you need to connect to a server manually by typing in the IP address. Sometimes that long string of numbers can be difficult to remember or just simply annoying to type in all the time. JK3.in aims to remedy that issue by giving you a way to shorten your IP and still function the same way. Instead of typing /connect 198.50.210.78, you'd type /connect you.jk3.in. It's easier to remember and can be changed if you change your server's IP. This service is very popular with clans and large groups. Currently we have around 60 shortcuts being used with jk3.in. Today I'm announcing that we have added a new domain to this service! SWJK.in will function exactly the same. The purpose of adding this domain is to cater to those with Jedi Outcast servers. Since Jedi Outcast isn't "JK3" (technically neither is Jedi Academy) but rather it is "JK2", it wouldn't make sense to use that shortcut. And before you all ask, JK2.in was taken. But this also gives a choice for Jedi Academy players to use either JK3.in or SWJK.in. Anyway, if you have a JK2 server and have been wanting this shortcut or maybe you didn't even know this existed until now, PM or email me or check out the actual page and click the link at the bottom. 12. Did it as soon as I posted that.
  13. Does it happen even after rebooting?Does it happen only when JKA is open?Has JKA run smoothly before now?Has anything on your system changed? What OS are you on?
  14. The textures were saved as Progressive, which makes JKA crash. Open them up in GIMP and save them again, when the JPEG window comes up, make sure Progressive is not selected. Instead just standard or optimised or whatever GIMP calls them.
  15. It's in the old Battle of Hoth map that wasn't finished: http://circa.im/files/jka/battle-of-hoth.pk3
  16. I merged your thread with this main one.
  17. All you have to do is replace the number in animations.cfg in BOTH_STAND1 with the number from BOTH_STAND9. It will change the default stance to the one in JK2, and be used for all the other standing animations, like pictured in the first post. All standing animations use the legs from STAND1. It's silly and needs to be fixed, imo.
  18. I wasn't aware they did such things. Any files that weren't uploaded by the actual author were put under the JKHub account. Anyway, I can merge your accounts, since we don't allow multiple accounting.
  19. I got it from Google. So I'm not sure. Those things aren't noticeable in-game. Unless you know they're there. I'm all for someone making a new texture, but I'm not going to be too picky about it. That's not a bad idea. Except I don't want that to be all around the map. Then it'll seem like you're in this sand canyon, when I want it to be an ocean of sand (Dune Sea). I was making use of blockplayer brushes so you can't to close enough to the edges to see that they are actually edges. It kinda works but could probably be done better.
  20. I'll definitely need to use more rocks and items scattered around. I just hope people don't complain about it not being accurate. The texture used there is this: I scaled it down to 512 for Radiant but kept it at 2048 in-game. I'm also curious for professional opinions regarding the skybox. I know that it's better to not build the map in a huge box to avoid leaks and ensure the sky is all around, however, should I make an exception here? I'm going through making the skybox as walls and ceiling to this map now, and it's really sloppy looking, since the floor isn't straight and boxy. I made it look unpredictable. This is making it really ugly for the skybox. Should I just make the big box like I had it before? I want to make sure I'm doing things right.
  21. Alright. Any recommendations for the terrain? I made a pretty good looking sand texture, but I'd rather not have it look like it repeats so much. I've looked at some terrain tutorials, but I'm curious what people think. This is compiled with BSP -meta, so no lighting, but it'll be pretty similar with it being extremely sunny in this setting.
  22. Okay. That explains why it only worked for you and nobody else. So it definitely is an issue with my Radiant. EDIT: I think I fixed it. Deleted all the hidden configs I could find in my homepath, reinstalled Radiant again and made sure the basepath was set to Jedi Academy (same as GameData for Mac) folder on initial setup.
  23. Tried all those. The textures load fine in Radiant, so loading the directory is fine.
  24. Not sure where to configure that. I've looked everywhere. I did notice in the log that this path is wrong when initiating the compile: VFS Init: /Applications/Jedi Academy/base//base/ Obviously that shouldn't have the /base/ at the end. Where can I change that? I did a deep search in my system for files with that line and I got nothing.
