  1. Sad to hear what happened but glad to see things aren't dead or completely lost. Kudos to you guys for keeping it alive.
  2. Keep in mind those were the requirements for the alpha. Could change in the official release. Also, Battlefront was created as a rip off of Battlefield, they've always been similar. This new one shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, and shouldn't be a bad thing. Go play Battlefield: 1942 and you'll see what I mean.
  3. Pretty sure he knows how, he's looking for a better design to work with. I'd come up with something for you but I'm a bit busy.
  4. I think he looks great. You people ask too much of DT. Nice work.
  5. Then the toy companies are screwed.
  6. JK:E already has it started. Just needs fine tuning.
  7. No Battlefront game should be played for the saber combat, because that's not a focus of the game at all. It's large/small scale warfare, focused on the troops. Sabers are a bonus, and focus on "saber vs blaster" kind of gameplay. At least it was in BFII. And if you still view it as "Battlefield with a Star Wars theme" then you could say that about BFII and BF1 as well, which I mostly disagree with. They are similar but they have a lot of their own aspects that make them a lot different than the Battlefield series. You say "play Battlefield in the case I want to play some war game" - okay but what about a Star Wars war game? That's what it is. If you're not a big Star Wars fan, then maybe it doesn't matter what's going on in the game, guns are guns, but to Star Wars fans, it'll be awesome. Playing as a rebel soldier fighting against the Empire's huge forces in a simple setting like Battlefront has is something fans love and want. This game will give a fresh take on that experience in multiple ways. Remember, last Battlefront game released was 2005. It's been 10 years since we've seen any game like what I have just shown. It's only been Force Unleashed and SWTOR, which are completely different.
  8. Bunch o' drama queens.
  9. You probably haven't played COD if you don't think quality. Sometimes it's hard to play some games because I'm used to how polished, smooth, and pleasing to the eye COD is.
  10. There's no harm in bringing your ideas to the table. I don't think Caelum's post was directed at you specifically. Keep in mind, the staff is having a lot thrown at them with ideas lately. Give ideas, but be patient during this long period of planning. Again, not directed at just you, it goes for all. And no, you haven't outstayed your welcome at all my friend.
  11. I prefer matchmaking, personally. Sucks for those that want a server browser though. Hopefully they end up offering both.
  12. Just read the past two comments and I get what's being said here. I recommend not replacing characters. That'll be a huge project, like Kualan said. For me, getting new dialogue might be simple enough but that's a lot of dialogue and changes to be made. My recommendation is to make new missions to fill the empty space in the story and make characters more interesting, rather than completely changing the story itself. Sounds like too much work, and like afinity said, probably won't get done. Small goals. Mod projects should be accumulative. Start small, build upon what you have. There are too many projects that just get abandoned by people dreaming too big too fast.

    Chopper

The textures look blurry on the body. Good start though.
  14. A lot closer than the default Luke...
  15. 1. They have yet to announce any paid DLC for this game. So far they only announced free DLC. 2. Not all DLC is like that. A lot of times it truly is bonus material and is optional. For the fidelity and time spent on that material, I'm perfectly willing to pay for it if I really want the content. I agree that the publishers like EA and Activision push the companies too hard and are forced to finish the game with DLC, but it's not always the case. I think EA is kind of turning around now. SWTOR content is apparently going to be all free for subscribers (and yeah subbing sucks but still, they aren't charging for the game itself, which is good), BF first DLC will be free, etc.
  16. Blocking exists in baseJKA, it's just something you have to learn. MBII makes it much more prominent in combat, mostly to make it more like the movies, to give it that Star Wars-like cinematic feel. Both have their place. Obviously MBII has it's own community for a reason, because they change things like that. For a social or RP game setting, more cinematic makes more sense, and I think that's kinda what hleV is trying to say. Or I could be way off. Either way, both have their place in certain situations.
  17. Then you should try it first. Funny how some people read rumors about a game that hasn't been released and make up their mind without any second thought. It looks like more fun than the old ones in my opinion. Plus, it's not even completed yet.
  18. We haven't made much progress at all, but if some of you guys could help out, that would change things. We mostly need mappers/scripters, but modelers and skinners will be appreciated as well.
  19. Wow nice. Just noticed this. Very good job at making him look realistic but true to the cartoon.
  20. Take a gander, fellas. Star Wars Saga Mod
  21. Let's just make the Star Wars Saga mod public @@therfiles. Might as well. We never got to a good point to make it public to gain interest, but I say let's go for it.
  22. Is the one from jk3files not the right one or...? As he said, you can search through wonko's mirror: http://mrwonko.de/jk3files
  23. It's like a microphone grill, assumably for the helmet speaker.
  24. Savage Opress body + Toshi Luke hood = success
  25. He used rend2 for those recent videos I believe. Also, he's away focusing on real life stuff, as stated above.
