EDIT: Ahto City download on Moddb, The Batcave download

 

Hi everybody, I'm an old JK3 modder. Here is some of the stuff I've made. I recently got an email from someone asking about an old map I was working on but never finished and decided I would release it and some other things I never put out but always wanted to. I'm pretty busy with school nowadays, so I don't have as much time to mod as I'd like. I'm thinking I'll release what I have as-is, like a beta or something, and then come and make updates or improvements if I ever have time. Here's some of the stuff I'm thinking about posting:

It's weird, I got an email from someone a few years ago asking if they could host my mods on their site, and I said yes. I thought it was JKhub, but I just searched for my mods and the only one I see is my force lightning pack. Guess it was a different site.

What's up Ashura, SecretApprentice. No problem, I'm glad people like my stuff well enough that they harp on me to release it, since I have a tendency to start things and never finish them. I always get bogged down in the details and trying to make everything perfect.

 

EDIT: Getting ready to upload Ahto City now.

 

EDIT 2 - Electric Boogaloo: I've tried about four different times to upload the map, but something goes wrong every time. I tried it in Chrome and Internet Explorer, with the basic and advanced uploaders. Nothing seems to be working and I can't figure out why. It's just a zip file.

Well... don't get your hopes up. All I've done is three of those big hangers, that sort of courtyard area with all the fountains, and that small sort of processing room, and all the hallways that connect it all, obviously. Basically what you've seen in the screenshots. The scale is a little off on some things like the doors, that's one of the many reasons I hadn't released it yet. Anyway, I also tried uploading the map to my Moddb page last night, and that was giving me trouble as well. I'm going to try and get it all sorted today since I have a day off from classes. (after my doctors appointment this morning)

 

BTW, to anyone reading this who is in college or about to be in college, if you get lucky enough for all your classes to line up back to back on Tuesdays and Thursdays, DO IT. I get four day weekends and a day off between each class day.

Thanks Asgarath83! For a while I was worried that that lightning pack, like most other things I do, wouldn't get finished. I did have to cut some stuff like an ice attack that made big icicles shoot out of the ground, and a meteor attack that made rocks fall from the sky.

mmm that's is cool. i am doing a mod about legacy of kain and i have edited the code so every CLASS of ai can shoot a different lightning efx. can i use some of your effects as base or sprites for make my custom arcane attack efx? my stone attack "lightning" fort the golem classes is not much good at lock. maybe i can replace with your meteor,if you finish it

Since I may not get around to expanding on Ahto City, I'm thinking I might release the map files and everything so other mappers can add to it if they want. Might do that later today. I guess I'll do the same with my batcave map whenever I upload that.
