eezstreet Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 /sign if you want an #OpenJK IRC channel, instead of hijacking #JACoders. The reasons that I feel the need for the channels to be separate:1. It doesn't really make sense, for starters. JACoders IRC channel has always been about coding help in general with JA's constructs, not helping random people build the game.2. JACoders is awfully clustered with different conversations. It will help to keep cross-conversations to a minimum.3. People won't be daunted by fluent coder-talk in the OpenJK chat channel for the most part.4. The community in the IRC channel was quite honestly better prior to OpenJK existing /sign
Tempust85 Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Even though I don't go on there really anymore, /sign
Xycaleth Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Usually a petition includes reasons for its existence. How about adding some to yours? not specifically for me, but for someone who doesn't visit the channel so often. Anyhow... /sign P.s. isn't this what polls are for? ent, therfiles and Tempust85 like this
Raz0r Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I don't really mind, it's all largely related. It's the #1 coding project for JA atm I'd say.
eezstreet Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Updated OP with more information as per @@Xycaleth's request.
Circa Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I have nothing to do with this so I'm not sure if I should... Darn peer pressure... Also, now the word "sign" look super weird... Lamented likes this
eezstreet Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 So, my question is whether Raz will actually go through with it.
Pande Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I have nothing to do with this so I'm not sure if I should... Darn peer pressure... Also, now the word "sign" look super weird... The reason is your spacing between letters /sign
Circa Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 The reason is your spacing between letters /signI meant the word in general.
Raz0r Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Newp. No point. People would be in both channels talking about various things. OpenJK is pretty much the main coding project for JA at the moment, and its discussion is totally relevant in #JACoders - there are also many links to #JACoders directly, it's a bit stupid to redirect people to #OpenJK to answer their questions there, when it's the same people in both channels talking about the same things. No point. Akimoto and Yberion like this

Circa Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 /signDid you just think reading the topic was too strenuous or it would just take too long? He already denied the request. ChalklYne likes this
