  1. Qu Rahn

    AUTHOR: Darth Ayreon

    DESCRIPTION:
This is a reskin of Hapslash's Anakin Skywalker EpIII model, and it now is Qu Rahn, the jedi who was killed by Jerec in the DFII
cutscenes and who guided Kyle Katarn through the Seven Dark Jedi by narrations about them.
I used sounds from the narrations and from the intro cutscene.

  4. AT-PT

    Submitted by Barricade24

This vehicle model was created by Light Ninja and texture by neomarz1, he has given permission for it to be uploaded here and we appreciate it very much.

Here is some text from the original readme...

Information: The AT-PT was originally developed by the Old Republic and was intended to be a major component of its ground forces. Platoons of troops were to be assigned AT-PTs; a single platoon would be granted the firepower of nearly a
company of ground troops at a substantially reduce cost. AT-PT platoons were to be equivalent to light mechanized infantry units with the added benefit of speed and extended comlink ranges, thus permitting the platoon to patrol a far greater area.
This light walker was also intended to provide armoured heavy fire support to infantry units. A soldier strapped into this vehicle was turned into an one-man attack force capable of stopping a full squad of infantry. Although this walker cannot match
the speeds obtainable by repulsorcraft, they can be devastating against conventional ground forces.

Project designers of the AT-PT developed the light walker to be suitable for open ground, shallow water, jungle, mountain terrain, and urban locations. This design can overcome inclines and obstacles that block repulsorlift and
treaded craft due to its independently adjusting leg suspension system. Unfortunately, most of the AT-PTs were carried onboard the famed Katana Fleet, and when that fleet disappeared without a trace momentum to continue the AT-PT project evapourated.
As a result the project was canceled.Ultimately, AT-PTs were never given the thorough battlefield testing they deserved. Many of the concepts pioneered by this design were later incorporated by Imperial engineers when they created the AT-AT and AT-ST.

Its heavily armoured command pod accords the driver with outstanding protection. Small flank hatches (with foot pegs below them) allow access into the cramped cockpit. Its legs can be fully extended upward for either high speed
movement or to allow the driver a superior observation position. The AT-PT can also adapt to operate in cramped conditions by moving itself into a "half crouch" posture, where its command pod is lowered to be even with its legs' drive joints.
When compared to the AT-ST, the AT-PT's drive system affords the light walker with superior balance. When sealed, the vehicle is virtually immune to small-arms fire. Located behind the command pod is the walker's main drive unit. Its primitive sensor
package is employed for navigation and assists in alerting the driver to approaching dangers."

AT-PTs are seeing use by Imperial Forces and can be carried into battle by Sentinel-class Landing Shuttles. Unfortunately, the Rebels have obtained a few AT-PTs from the Empire. An example of this was seen on the planet of Fest, where Rebel commandos
stole three AT-PTs from a secret Imperial weapons research facility. These walkers can still be found in the ranks of mercenaries and pirates who stole them, bought them on the black market or salvaged them from battlefields. Planetary defence forces such
as the m'Yalfor'ac Order (from the planet of Guiteica) employ the AT-PT (they approximately maintain three dozen of these light walkers).

    ========================================================================================================

    NOTES FROM THE AUTHORS:

This model has 1 year and i never thought that it would be finished but well, live is live and casually i contacted with NeoMarz1 and he was able to do this great skin for the model. Also i'll make soon a new version with much better walk animations,
if you get a veh file extension error, you have to many vehicles installed in your base folder, remove some of them from your base folder. standart max vehicles, then onces from raven included, is 16. there are mods that can improve that.

To install put it in your 'GameData/Base" folder, to uninstall remove "atpt.pk3" from your 'GameData/base' folder.

    IMPORTANT:
THERE IS A .DLL INSIDE THE ZIP, EXTRACT IT TO YOUR /BASE FOLDER AND YOUR VEHILE LIMIT WILL BE INCREASED TO 64 OR SO.

HOW TO PLAY IN A MAP THAT HAS NOT PLACED THE VEHICLE BY DEFAULT

to play the vehicles in game start a map in cheat mode, "devmap ffa3".
when the map is loaded, bring down the console and type in "/npc spawn vehicle atpt_vehicle", make a LOT of steps back and then the vehicle should be in front of you.
have fun!, hope this help mappers in siege maps.

  10. Trade Federation Droid Control Ship

    Author
    CommanderKEEN

This is Trade Federation Droid Control Ship from Episode I. From the things that are seen in the movie, there are Conference Room, Bridge and Docking Bay, including Republic Cruiser docked (unfortunatly, still with no interior, but i hope to make it for the next version), all conected with corridors, and something of my own imagination - a dock control station.

Due to the winkness of my PC, i was unable to make this map larger and more complex. My PC was having troubles to handle even this sized map. I was forced to make the map in several different parts, that are later merged in the final map (and that is so boring). And, what is more important, I was unable to do the full Light process, and because of that, the map does't look like as it should and some lights and shadows looks pretty ugly. So, don't expect next versions of the map, untill I upgrade my PC (do not expect it for a long time lol)

  11. FFA Nowhere

    Author: Cye

    Submitted by Helena Revan

One of the scariest maps ever released, FFA Nowhere is an abandoned asylum! And not a nice sort of asylum, either. One with rows of cells and locked iron doors, padded cells and operating theatres, and security bars everywhere! People have died here. There's even a graveyard full of them. But are all those who died here in the graveyard? I'm not so sure of that! You visit on a rainy, misty night, and there's just enough power to work the lights in some sections. Wind rushes through the corridors... was that someone moaning? Why are there chains hanging from the ceiling? Is someone there...? Help! You'll be glad you took your lightsaber with you as you explore this creepy place. Better hope you don't dream about it!

Here's what Cye had to say about his map when he released it on JK3Files back in 2004:

    ===================

Build time : 2 or so weeks
    Custom Textures : sortof
    New Music : Yes
Bot Support : This is my first map cut me some slack punk

Installation : Simply extract the ffa_nowhere.pk3 file into your JA/GAMEDATA/BASE folder or click and drag it to the folder specified.

Map info : As said above this is my first map ever, I came up with the idea during playing a game of Jedi Outcast with a few people online and felt that most of the custom maps for the game were all going by the same types of themes so I decided to create something a little new. I created the idea of a creepy or Silent Hill themed map so to speak that night and made the blueprints the next day. But since being my lazy self I never actually made it until JA came out so the idea aswell as the blueprints stuck in my mind for a year or so. It took me less than a week to read up on some great Radiant tutorials and in the same week I started up on FFA_nowhere, so this map was also my tool to learning how to do this and that. And although this map is not perfect considering I had limited resources "texture wise" and other things, it has become bigger and better than my original idea for the map.

SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO THE FOLLOWING:

Rich Diesals mapping university, the only place I got my mapping tutorials. http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/ explained a hellofa lot to me and I cant thank the dude enough.

Also special thanks goes out to Raven for the great game that is JA and JediOutcast, and also Id and EA games for their great textures.

    Textures by RAVEN: Jedi Academy,
Id software: Return to castle Wolfenstein, and EA Games: Medal of Honor AA.

    ===========================================================

It was reviewed by the JK3Files staff, too:

    ===============================

What a 'nice' idea for a map and with the sound effects too, nicely done!

When I first got in the haunting noises were superb, the room was plain but the fact it sounded like a true horror game seriously added to the atmosphere; thank god I have control of my bladder! The next room I went to was an outdoor area, a half destroyed room where it was raining and it felt good; by that I mean it felt like it should, run down house broke apart by age and weather.

The main bulk of the house is corridors (those are quite large corridors btw) which are very dark and damp with the occasional flickering light (nice touch). The bordered up windows and doors along with the various broken object and sharp corners really do give it that horror feel which helps you forget about the fact that in decor this house is somewhat lacking.

There was one place that really was cool, I won't go into it fully but put it this way...just because it seems like it's a corridor that you can walk down does not mean you can walk down it....falling however is a much faster method. Oh and if you're scared of small spaces avoid this place! Solidary confinement is not a nice place.

I suppose I should now point out it is infact more of an asylum and if walking past those torn down doors on cells don't freak you out...you're on a par with George Bush for reaction and intelligence!

One think that puts me off this map is the fact teleporters move you from place to place through doorways which I don't think there was need for.

    New Sounds: Yes (+Music)
    New Textures: Yes
    Bot Support: No

    Good Halloween map.

    Title:Maw (with legs)
    Author:Unsung Hero
    E-mail:unsungninja@yahoo.com

    Filename:maw_with_legs.pk3
    Filesize:5.49 MB

Installation: Put the maw_with_legs.pk3 into the following location:Local Disk/Program Files/LucasArts/
Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData/base

Description: "To the one called Maw: a bitter individual that loathes all and holds loyalty to few. A strong and formidable foe. For every cord of muscle, there is hatred.
It is this hate that keeps his aging body strong," said Qu Rahn's force ghost to Kyle Katarn. In the beginning of Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, the player sees a cutscene with
Qu Rahn on board Jerec's ship, Vengeance. As most of you know, Qu Rahn takes Yun's lightsaber and cut off Maw's legs before he is defeated by Jerec. I've attempted to make
a model of Maw before he was cut in half, with a few changes to add more detail to the skin.

Bugs: Clipping with flap, I doubt I'll ever get the flap weighing down. Facial weighing is funny as well.

Comments: I hope you enjoy this! Please feel free to use the model for reskins or whatever, tis but a raven edit, just give credit where credit is due.

Special THANKS to: Lucasarts, taunt is from JK1 cutscene.

This is another mod from jk3files I had. This is the Spiderman Skin by Elandain. Also, don't worry that the description says to install to the Jedi Outcast Directory, it says Jedi Knight 3 Modification in the readme.

I've seen a whole lot of crappy Spider-Man skins out there, so this is my gift to the Jedi Knight community. This is a reskin of ksk_h2O's Gray Fox model. I hope you enjoy it!

    Bot support: yes
    Team support: yes
    Custom sounds: no

Comments : This is my Spider-Man skin, based on how his appearance in the movies. I really enjoyed making this skin, but it took me upwards of six months to finish. At first I tried cutting and pasting actual pics and screenshots onto the skin, but that didn't work at all. In the end, I had to create my own textures from scratch. Considering, I think it turned out pretty well.

This was my first attempt at skinning, so if you have any problems with it, email me. Sorry, no custom sounds or taunts yet. I'm working on that at the moment, so maybe I'll have an update later on. All brand new textures, made in Paint Shop Pro.

Programs used : Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7, Modview 2.1, Botmaker 1.2, Notepad, Pakscape.

Additional Credits : Marvel Comics, ksk_h2O

Unzip the file "Spider-Man_JA.pk3" into the GameData/Base directory of wherever you installed Jedi Outcast.
Then go into the game and select the skin from the Player Setup Menu.

Feel free to distribute this skin in any format, but you MUST include this file. If you wish to include it in a skinpack or a level, contact me first & let me know where it's being hosted.

  22. Dragon Remix: EndGame Edition

    Original Author: Covax

    Description:

The final Evolution of the Dragon Remix MOD, combining the BEST Single-Player mod for Jedi Outcast. If interest is high enough I'll release the updated multiplayer game and weapons add-ons. Now I can get to work on some Jedi Academy mods...

This is a 'total conversion' of the Single Player experience. There are no new maps, although it's a fun mod to use in conjuction with fan-made SP maps.

    - Vanguard and Anatares (aka Kyle and Jan) have sabers and force powers at begining.
    - Most of the skins, weapon models and effects have been changed in some way.
    - You'll see a bunch of cameos from Writer's Block Media and the original Blade Mod crew.
    - Red and Blue sword styles are now Desann's and Tavion's respectively
    - Sparks and smoke replaced by blood. Stumps are dark red rather than yellow.
    - Better acrobatics: Cartwheel and Butterfly Kick relaces the rolls.
    - Cooler pistol-firing animation (in my oppinon)
    - Jump: 'Force Jump' style and 'Force Getup'.
    - Dismemberment is now fully enabled. This also has the effect of making the swords very lethal.
    - Every one of the weapons leaves the cool glowing mark that the disruptor usually leaves.
    - Force Lightning replaced with a Fire effect.

    Instructions:

Unpack in your /GameData/ folder. A DragonRemix folder should be created. Either use the attached .BAT file or activate under Options->Mods in the starup screen.

This MOD is a compilation of several other MODs, those being edited/altered versions of:

    'Jedi Master Mod' by Osiris
'JediMoves Basic' by Master D-Ley Amas
    'Han Shooting Animation' by tFighterPilot
'Ultimate Blood' by StrWrsXprt and Desann
    'Hyper Weapons Mod' by WeedWhacker
'Weapon Alterations' by Joruus C B'oath the 2nd
'Flamethrower beta v.1' by Dark Reaper
    'DS-Reticles2' by Dreamstation

    Bugs:

1 - Like other models modification this MOD will NOT work correctly with saved games - the weapons will be bound to the wrong bone. It works fine if you start up a map through the console, or start the game from the beginning.

2 - I have NO idea how this mod will effect other MODS. It works fine with other Single Player levels that have no conflicting skin/model changes. By default remove/rename the NPCs.cfg file in one of the mods and everything should work fine.

3 - There may be a problem in the Besbin Streets level. The 3rd Reborn encounter, by the landing platform, dosen't seem to work. You may have to NOLCIP your way though the door to continue.

  24. Q3Map2Toolz

Q3Map2Toolz is an alternative front-end application for Ydnar's Q3Map2 to q3map2build. It is larger than it's build counterpart but for current days still small.
It's main advantage is that it has an included mapacker by Equim which greatly reduces effort in making the .pk3 files.

Additionally, it allows the use of more BSP switches than Q3map2 GUI.
