    I thought you needed a super high end computer to run portal, as I thought you would stare into the portals in almost infinity, resulting in extreme lag. However, the requirements are low enough, so I've been playing portal :).

      Actually trying Radiant 1.5...and all my textures are showing up as black on the brushes...program already crashed once too...:/.

    I'm going to try running kotor again...this will be the 4th time I've downloaded it...I know I've already said this, BUT THIS WILL BE MY LAST ATTEMPT. I've fixed opengl to work with other games, and am hoping it will work here as well.

      If you're willing to spend, laptops can be good for gaming. They just don't have as good air flow/cooling, and less space to fit components.

      Also your fps gets drastically worse the longer you play as the laptop gets hotter.

    I've been playing every game all my life at 30 FPS or less. I just managed to get my computer to play a game at 60 fps...wow...it's so much smoother.

      But as I said, I cleaned it up now so it only runs around 65. And since this laptop only has 1 air vent, that is another factor.

    I've been trying to change my windows theme to a darker theme. I downloaded a program called Theme Resource Changer, which ended up deleting several system32 files, including explorer.exe...god damn it...fixing it now.

      oh crap this is not good. Even system restore didn't fix it...now when I start up my computer, the entire desktop is black. I had to run chrome.exe from task manager just to get here :(.

      Nah, stick with MP4. It's one of the main standards in video formats now, and is the primary format for web content now, with HTML5 and such.

      Sure it's the best way for some, but not for most people. You can't assume everyone knows how to assemble a computer. :P

      Meh, it's a little more than that. And you have to know where everything goes. AND you have to be interested enough to do it. Most people wouldn't even want to bother with such things. I'm one of them.
