  1. The weirdest part of it all was that it USED to work fine, didn't play it for a while then decided I wanted to finish the game I had saved and it wouldn't run.
  2. Thanks, that lucasforums fix worked, don't know why nothing like that showed when I googled kotor 2 wont launch.
  3. Yes, tried most everything, it doesn't even try to run, you click on the .exe and nothing happens.
  4. Neither works, the game used to run but for some reason it doesn't anymore.
  5. OK, I know there are tons of things out there concerning this terribly buggy game. It used to run no problem then for no apparent reason I went to try to play it and the process wont even start, it's as if I didn't even click on the .exe file, absolutely nothing happens. I've been googling for a solid week now trying various things with absolutely no success so I'm just going to ask here. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 AMD Phenom II 840T quad core Radeon HD5770 (rebranded as a MSI 5770 Hawk) 16gb RAM 1TB HDD with tons of free space Originally the only issue I had before was the lack of widescreen support, multicore issue fixed and the game ran fine. I didn't play it for about 6 months or so and now it just wont launch, reinstalling multiple times has done nothing, replacing the mss32.dll has done nothing either nor has using various compatibility mode options. I should also note this IS NOT the steam version, it's the original disc version NOT using any cracks or weird patches, full legit. Hope someone can point me in the right direction before I frisbee the CD's into the ocean out of anger...
  6. ^Well a project like this needs a few mappers, not just one. It also helps to have different points of view on the levels, some people will spot something someone else may have missed making the quality much better. There are very few positions in a mod like this where there is just 1 person doing 1 job, the work load is just too much.

  8. Maybe some advertisement for this mod or any other can be made on the main page whenever one of the hosted mods are looking for staff? IMO this and MotS have to me always had the highest chance of success as far as a total conversion goes since the base engine already fits so well, just need the art made.
  9. Well you already know I'll help wherever I can, both 3d art and animations since Gorc and Pic seem like a fun challenge to bring to life in this engine. Sucks you can't seem to draw the attention this mod deserves in terms of attracting a good environment artist. I've contemplated for years about learning to map but it would probably take some time to get used to Radiant which would be the main hurdle.

I'm going to try to come back to this sometime but it may be after the holidays, although I don't celebrate them just the living situation may be to where I'm not living with so many people making recording in peace possible and less awkward. Had a pretty rough patch in my life over the past few months so I kinda had to put everything on hold.
  11. Wow, it turned out awesome, you can really tell how much of a difference it made just to take the time to make a high res sculpt to bake details from, something that hasn't been done enough in JA.
  12. ^It does that if you use that pirated copy, I paid for the app and I have no problems, even submitted feedback about the lack of saber stance button and he released an update that added it. If you really want to play it just spend the $1.95, that's like change that can be found on the ground, you'd have to be a real tight ass to think that was too much to pay for this. I'm getting more used to the controls btw, playing trough the SP campaign, I'm playing on an HTC One with the graphics on the highest settings, it really eats up battery life though.
  13. Yeah, in some renderings say of the Soul Reaver game from the cinematics he looked more taupe/bone colored but in the PS2 iterations of his in game model was more olive/green. I'd be happy either way, maybe have 2 color variations at some point.
  14. This, if another game DID come about I'd hope that they just pick up where JK2 left off and let JA be like some wild what if tanget of time that never really happened, the story was that bad.
  15. I could beef him up some but it may require UV edits which will set Ashura back some on the texture front. I didn't make him so buff since buff models don't work so well with the JA animations, you get a lot of clipping so I opted to make him a little lean. If Ashura finishes the textures Kain will go in game and you can use him in your mod but the model will be released alone, the Reaver I made will be included in the PK3.

Well if you google Jedi Academy widescreen you get the info needed to run widescreen, I'm sure from there it's just a matter of editing the menu files to allow the 16:9 resolutions to be selectable from the menu, the main thing that doesn't work is the cinematics. Oddly enough though when I played through JK2 recently the cinematics worked in that game, they were a little stretched but they worked.
  17. JA had better multiplayer but the SP campaign was so god awful, the story, the maps, the characters, dialogue, everything. JO had a story that at least followed the original dark forces theme, it just lacked things like dual and staff sabers. Where I prefer single 99% of the time having the option of dual and staff is nice.
  18. I wonder if the OP realizes just how many times this topic has been discussed? The idea of JK4 has been around since like 2004.
  19. That's super easy, 3d can easily be rendered in widescreen, all it takes is some modification of the configuration file, from there though you can't touch the resolution settings in the menu. I'm sure a coder could explain what it would take for widescreen to be doable from the menu settings.
  20. Yeah, I really hope someone will port the KotOR series to Android, RPG's are much easier than action games on tablets and phones.
  21. Not sure if he'd be interested, seems like he's porting a lot of quake engine games. I also used a mod btw, works fine, Hapslash's stormtrooper. Lightsaber dueling reborns is pretty tough with touch screen, I imagine Tavion and Desann might be literally impossible using the touch screen controls even on Padawan setting. I at least have a phone with a large screen, I'd imagine an iPhone user would find this unplayable.

  23. So someone couldn't just re-render them with black bars on the sides and make them 16:9 that way?
  24. ^It pings a server for updates it seems after playing around with it, after uninstalling and reinstalling to see if it would work it wouldn't let me download a needed file to use the software so I bought the full version since I liked it. I also sent in a request and he should be releasing a new version any day, there was no button to switch saber styles, he emailed me back and said he was going to try to implement it ASAP so the one up there will be outdated anyway. EDIT: New version out, you can now switch saber styles.
  25. Besides, like I said, the program seems to be able to check if you have a license, the free version stops working, uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't stop this. If you don't have $1.95 then you got bigger life problems than playing JK2 on your phone.
