  1. Not at all. He was placed in the opening scene just to "start" the story, without the intention of giving him another appearance.
  2. I don't mind seeing non-Star Wars models in Jedi Academy/Outcast. We already have a lot of them, so I don't see a reason why it should be a problem. Every model, no matter if Star Wars related or not, is another way to keep the community of Jedi Academy/Outcast alive. I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan, and I really appreciate every well made model based on the movies. But sometimes, I really like to see something different, something that must not be necessarily related to Star Wars. It can be anything, from Pirates of the Carribean to Star Trek. For example, somebody released the Laser Screwdriver from Doctor Who last week, which brought a little variety. Sometimes, I rather like to see requests to things outside Star Wars than reading the 2187th requests about porting higher quality The Clone Wars models to Jedi Academy.
  3. He already deleted the original game assets and clarified that a legal copy of Jedi Academy is required to run the mod. Maybe it was a late decision, but better than never. And about the mod: I'm neutral about it. Maybe it will become the "next big thing" or it will fail like other ambitious projects. Like many mods, it still has the chance to redeem itself.
  4. I went to the ModDB page of this mod again. The developer temporarily removed the download link to the current build. He will now create a file that contains credits to the mod authors.
  5. Reading this makes me rethink all the hopes I had in that mod. I mean, what's the point of using mods from others and not giving credit to the original authors? It's like KotF or Evolution of Combat all over again. Ten years ago, you could go to a site and find a mod that was probably worth downloading. And if it had contents from other authors, they have been credited. You could enjoy the ride and be pleased by the ideas many modders had. It was not about gaining a reputation, it was about the fun of modding itself. If every mod would have that kind of spirit, and if everybody would work together on mods like this one, this community would feel less like a battleground.
  6. Finally a proper weapon based on Doctor Who. Good job!
  7. @@DrXann @@Circa I took a look into the asset files. He modified almost everything in them, which makes these files "legal" in some way, because they are not the originals.
  8. Has anyone ever heard about that mod called Jedi Academy: Brutality? I found it some time ago and even tried it a few weeks ago. It's actually pretty good. http://www.moddb.com/mods/jedi-academybrutality/news/jedi-academybrutality That mod is what you expect from a Total Conversion and modifies many things in SP. It's quite interesting what the developer did and what he's planning. The title might be a little bit misleading, because that mod doesn't actually focus on brutality, but rather on enhancing what the game has and adding what it doesn't have. It needs OpenJK to run, so it is required that you have the latest version installed. Here's the description:
  9. You could say that Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II was, for a Star Wars game, ahead of its time. Too bad that Jedi Academy doesn't have something like that. Instead of giving the player the option of choosing between both sides by fulfilling certain requirements (like in Mass Effect or KotOR), the developers turned Rosh into the ultimate key to either the Light Side or the Dark Side. Looking back, I think it was a stupid decision. The inner conflict Kyle had when he fought Tavion was far more convincing in Jedi Outcast. In Jedi Academy, you just didn't care. It could have been so much better.
  10. The shortest opening post I've ever seen at any forum. It would be helpful it you could at least describe what kind of map you are looking for. Anyway, you can try this one (for Jedi Academy) https://jkhub.org/files/file/480-deception/. And here is one for Jedi Outcast: https://jkhub.org/files/file/2293-a-plot-is-brewing-in-the-outer-rim/
  11. I think this is a good idea. It would be also great that instead of choosing if you attack Rosh or not, you have to reach a certain level of Light Side points or Dark Side points. The higher the level, the higher are the chances that you get either the good or the bad ending. Is it even possible to make?
  12. Already done. Not a perfect model, but at least he has been made. https://jkhub.org/files/file/757-hirmans-darth-plagueis/
  13. If Jedi Academy only had a better vehicle system, vehicles like that would be great to see.
  14. Those soldiers are cybernetic enhanced humans, so there is a reason why the helmets look like that.
  15. @@Circa Is it possible to upload the map, or at least the AT-AT model, on this site? Considering that both of them are really hard to find, it would be cool to have them on JKHub.
  16. This is the only one I've found. http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Academy/Skins/Vehicles/30805/ The only downside is that it is a reskin of the original one. You will find some clan logos on it.
  17. I'm sure they found a solution for that, just like with Nute Gunray and Rune Haako in several other countries. They both speak with an asian accent in the original version, but in Germany for example, they speak with a french accent. Although I grew up with the German dub and also love the original English voices, there is something with the Japanese voices that amazes me. I haven't seen one of these movies entirely in Japanese, just a few scenes, but like I said previously, they know how to convey emotions. They know what it requires to do professional voice acting. It's not just about simply recording the dialogues, it's about reflecting what the characters are feeling and thinking.
  18. Seriously, you should get Harmy's Despecialized Editions of the Classic Trilogy. All three movies have a full japanese audio track, among other languages. If you already own legal copies of the official releases (no matter if DVD or Blu-ray), you can go on and download them. Just follow this guide. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yLsvexWBVM8IYSGopKuSfsGk5YIgCwQWd23bqb5ryD4/pub
  19. @@Teancum The actor is also known as Mouse from The Matrix. I think with some kitbashing and texturing, that guy should be possible. Take some Rodian ears, Kyle's or Galak's head and put them on a model with a trenchcoat.
  20. This is actually a Voldemort model that was altered to resemble Snoke (can be read in the description). The only part of the model that could be used is the head. It can be frankensteined on a Jedi Academy playermodel afterwards. But here's the tricky part if somebody is trying to port it: Should EA, the original authors, be credited? Should the author(s) who ported and modified that model be credited? Or maybe both?
  21. I'm looking for a skilled modeler who likes to finish my model of Rey's staff.

    1. AshuraDX

      AshuraDX

Oi! Don't you dare - finish what you started ;P

  22. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy uses two different skeletons, so you can't just "copy and paste" the animation from one game to another. However, with some modifications, it is possible. Hey, @@Asgarath83. Can you help syainkn with that?
  23. This request has nothing to do with McQuarries concepts at all. It's about the very first script version from 1974, the foundation of what would later become Star Wars as we know. And that script has been adapted into a comic, which was released in 2013. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Star_Wars Ralph McQuarrie did base some of his concepts on the first draft, that's true. But the best representation of how the characters and the movie itself might have looked like is definitely the comic. And to answer your question: @@dark_apprentice made a McQuarrie-Version of Luke some time ago. That's the only model I remember that's based on the concept art.
  24. In The Force Awakens, there is that scene where Han Solo meets the Guavian Death Gang, where you can see some of these red soldiers. I don't know, but there is something mysterious about them when you just look at them, something that really stands out.
  25. I really like the style of the whole map and what has been improved. Instead of just using the whole unfinished map as is, you just took the chance to enhance it and make it look like an actual part of the game. I'm really looking foward to the release. In my opinion, this map looks like something where a lightsaber would be out of place. I mean, this map has the potential to be something challenging, something where you don't have to rely on lightsabers or the force to get through. Too bad Jedi Outcast has no stealth elements, because they would definitely fit into that kind of map.
