There doesn't appear to be, but that's just from a ModView perspective. There may be some spotted more easily in a modeling program to see the wireframe and such.
So I posted this in a status update but I really didn't notice this difference until yesterday.
I always thought the JO & JA Luke models were the same, just different face textures. They're actually different models. At least in the face they are. The JO model looks to have a slimmer head/face and a different nose than the JA one.
Just look:
I know the default JA face isn't really part of this comparison other than the fact that it looks nothing like Luke, or any human that lives for that matter.
Am I the only one that didn't know this?
You know that Star Wars Episode VII is in production, right? This sounds cool, but this is crazy amounts of work. Like I said in another thread, you'll need to start basic and learn as you go into more complicated things.
You really should just start by fooling around with the assets and looking at other mods. Learn the .pk3 file structure and figure out how things work. With that, you'll find that it's pretty simple to do such things (minus the audio), and you'll find it much easier to learn from there. I can't even think of what "The Dark Apprentice" looks like.
He reskinned an existing model to look like yours. Looks pretty good to me. I'm surprised a simple mod like you want doesn't exist here on JKHub. I might have to make one eventually. Here's one on jk2files.com: http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/JK3_Saber_Menu_Mod;22568
That's what it uses for the specular shadow effect. When you're in the dark part of a map and not in the light, it will use whatever spec.jpg you assign it.
I don't use many mods with JK2 actually. Can't think of any besides Hapslash's Stormtrooper replacement. http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Haps_Trooper;24382
Not the default JA ones but JK2 maps won't have some textures when used in JA. I'm just going to look into it. If there's too many and it would just make the filesize bigger, then I probably won't take the time to do it unless people really want me to.
Interesting idea. I probably won't do that because it's a tad misleading because most of these changes aren't anything major. Alright, separate ones it is. Now I'll try to figure out the missing map textures and then we'll be ready to go.
I can see that, but I don't think prone is really that big of a factor in degrading skill. It might introduce new camping strategies in gun matches, but with that, it also introduces new defensive strategies as well.
