  1. I don't really see the issue, it's kind of like paying someone to help you paint your house for example <.< It's a service, it's not like he's asking for full time pay on a mod team where no one else on the team gets paid. It's about the occasional job of making a model for someone else, and being paid to make it a priority. I mean illustrators and the like do commissions, pretty much the same thing.
  2. I think he was referring to the general usage of "you" as in the people whom asks for money for working on a mod team.
  3. Hey Carbon, nice to see you're still around in the jka community ^^ Welcome.
  4. @@MUG, in every top hats life there comes a time where you realise "Mil made a few pictures for me" Which leads to "I should do everything he says". The time is now. (and whenever I feel like it) Go complete it
  5. Did you edit the original pictures? Cause suddenly the greens there are not really screaming at me anymore >_> I dunno why, but I think that green color on the original post screenshot is fine now... I confuse myself :< Try to check out some cool boot design from costumes or something like that, atm it looks like you got a green plate just put flat right on the back side, doesn't look too good imo. And maybe add in the bolts that show how it's attached like the arms have?
  6. I'm not a fan of you starting off with a photoshop filter as a base But I guess despite that, it's not all that bad. If you want your "lighter" parts to pop out some more you can add more contrast to it's edges, I noticed it seems you tried to add some edges or something to the shoulders, but they're just blending into the photoshop filter atm, add a contrasted border (light to sudden dark value for example). Apart from that I think your greens are too saturated compared to the rest of your guy, kinda screaming at me Also the only area that seems to lack something if you want to add more detail would be the legs/hips, they've got a very flat texture, I notice hints at folding stuff but it's too hard to tell imo. hope that helped ^^
  7. Inyri this is your intervention, we want you to know that we love you and that you have to stop this verbal destruction spree. All your friends are here to tell you how you hurt them with your words:
  8. I love the idea of a map in the style similar to those 2 screens And I pointed out the playermodel idea on post #4 :<
  9. I could work on some textures, map objects and stuff like that yeah. Not going to give a definite promise on it though xD My graphics motivation as of lately has been odd, and I'm reworking my focus a bit. But yeah some general stuff like doing textures, various map objects, I probably have time+motivation for that. Not gonna join on the mapping though, because I never really enjoyed working in gtkradiant. I know level design theory though so I can assist with that .
  10. The character modelers should do this too! dibs on the right arm! xD And yes if it's as awesome as you said it was, do get it finished ^^
  11. True, but for me it's like "huh, would you look at that" *goes on with my day* kind of thing xD I'm not quite sure what to discuss on it
  12. As far as I seen, it's very rare for people to take on random model requests from other people in the jka community. Unless that particular idea gets someone excited enough to give it a go,and those are in a minority I'm afraid. (or you're best buds with said modeler) If you have a project you really want done, it's a great way to get into modeling really. From what I seen it's easier to get a response asking for help/tips on something you're doing on your own, instead of asking others to do the task for you. You said you failed before, try again but get people's feedback on the process, to help you out on the way Even noobs can get a good result for their first project, they just need to rework their models a lot more. Good feedback will help you with what to rework as well. A character model is a big first though, with the modeling, unwrapping, texturing and weighting all being very important steps which takes a lot more effort than your first saber model for example. (unless you're making some really insane saber) So yeah, dunno if that motivates you to try or not, but by the time you manage to convince someone to start making this for you, you might be done with your first try on it yourself already. Not the reply you'd want, but a fair and honest one. And hey, someone might actually say yes still I know personally I'm not up for this project, sorry.
  13. Scoop showed me someone who'd done just that a while back MUG >_> Redsaurus or something like that.
  14. Spark cause you can like, see the ignition take place? xD
  15. What moon said. Btw is this an example of Inyri acting girly? You know classic "did you notice i changed my hair?" thing? xD I mean no disrespect. It's chocolate, don't hurt me.
  16. This site is awesome if you ask me Majora's mask looking fiiiiiiiiine.
  17. Tone down the shadows on his face, you're closing in on something that looks almost solid black at the transition to the throat, which has no shading yet. Remember there's bounce light in the world that creates an ambient light, unless you're inside somewhere or it's night, the character will never have almost solid black shading, except in some deep armor crevices or something like that, definitely not on his head with no hood. Right now you're combination of the bright face and the shading on his cheek/chin/side of the head etc is creating a contrast which is adding a lot to the ruined look. I still think there's a lot of issues with his head, but fixing that shading would be a great step in the right direction.
  18. Alright that's what I figured Inyri looking good.
  19. Is the viewer bugged or am I seeing some z-fighting in the handle and the stock? And yes agree, great way to show the model
  20. Didn't really think about it >_> Googled and wanted a zoom on the face.
  21. Agree with inyri and eez, you should really take a second look at the color of the area under her eyes, unnaturally dark. see?
  22. In that case I don't really have anything to point out ^^ go for it. Texture it, get a good grade, add it to jka, go go xD
