    I remember why I stopped mapping years ago. Radiant must be among the most user unfriendly Softwares on this planet.

      So it's possible to make a map in 3DS max, and then import it into radiant.

      Did you try trenchbroom? It's not designed for idtech3 but building geometry and then editing the rest in radiant is still possible.
