  1. Yeah, that's the poster-edges effect. That's what it is called in Photoshop anyway, might be something different in GIMP. It's not a bad effect in itself, but the loss of detail (particularly when one wants to do long- or wide-shots) means it's not something I'm likely to implement in this series though.

Thanks for the suggestion, however. Always happy to hear any more.

  2. You should cartoon-ify your comic, to make it look more like a comic book. There's a simple effect for that in GIMP 2.6. :P

Is that the poster-edges effect? You lose a lot of the detail with those effects, and I also didn't want to give the impression that I was attempting to use a half-assed trick to try and fool people into thinking I had actually drawn the comic myself xD

  3. Before working on the Rex issue, I spent part of today working on another pair of Commanders and their troops; Commander Grain and Commander Bolton. Commander Grain and his troops I envisioned as wearing armour suitable for some desert world rife with sandstorms. The Commander also wears a fusion of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 helmets, retaining the fin. Bolton's men were made especially for the upcoming Volume Four of my Tales From The Clone Wars comic, as troops serving under Saesee Tiin. As such, the main patterning on their armour is a silhouette of the Iktochi Jedi Master:

  4. At least two more species are planned, i will consider adding Chagrian to the list but Darth Wyyrlok would need a brand new body.

Just having a Chagrian head on Jedi Robes like you've done with Ongree would be amazing in itself, thanks for considering the request. I look forward to these two other mystery species as well. I'm sure they'll be great.

  5. Ah, no I know what the problem there is. I've overlooked something and will try to fix it.

In a nutshell, Rex's helmet is actually made up of two meshes - the Phase 2 helmet, and the Mandalorian helmet with the antenna, that is textured in such a way that everything except said antenna is invisible. This gives the appearance of the antenna being attached to the Phase 2 helmet without having to actually model it on. It's all done with .skin file/texturing trickery. I think I just need to use a shader file or something. I'll look into it - thanks for testing it out Circa!

  6. I would be happy to do it for you, but I'm still learning the game of rigging models and getting them into JKA I'm afraid. When @@minilogoguy18 has the time spare to finish his tutorial series on that I'm sure there will be a fair few folks who will have the know-how to help you out with it.

Fair warning, it could be a bit of a wait though, since with the holiday season in full swing folks are going to have less and less free time until the new year.
