Tales From The Clone Wars - JKA comic
NumberWan replied to Kualan's topic in Art, Media & Technology
Seeing Dantooine is nice. Did you make this appearance partly as a reference to the battle of Dantooine, originally seen in Clone Wars animated series? There Mace Windu would lead the forces against the droids and their new weapon. And a small farm boy would see the battle from afar. When I got to last but one page I also had a question, why the Enclave would be so clean. I am glad, that you thought this aspect through, not leaving behind the fact, that the whole structure seemed intact. SW Galaxies establish the ruins in a different state, mostly a few arches and colomns remain, nothing would remind of former Enclave. But I prefer the fact, that ruins would look like the ones in KOTOR. -
@DT85 Leia would fit in nicely, but I always thought, that it was Bail Organa, who started it all. Though Leia made it into the politics, he still wanted her to be safe and stay away from fight from the Empire at least for some time. 1-2 years before the Death Star destruction however, he might have introduced her to Rebels ideals, because he saw that Leia was understanding the atrocities of current Imperial regime pretty much herself. But she is not a leader by this time. We see in TFU that Leia was at least virtually present, when the Alliance was formed between Mon Mothma, Garm Bel Iblis and Bail Organa, as well as Galen Marek (though I distrust TFU regarding many things, this story of formation pleases me, and I consider it to be canon still). Only after the death of those she loved, the destruction of her homeworld, she becomes a true leader, ready to struggle for freedom. Anyways, the fact that some kind of character (fulcrum) raises so many thoughts and theories and makes us doubt them and seek new ones, means, that the show actually found its niche and has a potential. A bit more thoughts.

Unusual and unorthodox. I really like this model, because it presents so many opportunities to create even more characters. One would exactly, as the author says - help making a new NPC, who stole the helmet. You can also use this one to make a bounty hunter, which formerly served the Empire. Or someone from the Episode VII era, who found an old dirty helmet and uses it to protect himself from the enemies. At first, I thought, that there actually was such a character in JA and this model replaces him. In fact such guy was seen in one of the mods for JO or JA. Very nice addition.

I think, there is no need to make Yun look 100% like the one in Dark Forces 2. Besides finding the photos of this actor might prove difficult, he hasn't been active since 2005. He even might be recognized by most thanks to this game. All of other series (well, except for Ghost in the Shell series, where he acts as a voice actor) are unknown to me.

The model is cool, but the character of Obi Wan in TFU was weird. I mean he is an old and wise Jedi, yet he is more of a warrior in this game, which craves seemingly upon things, which the OT Ben Kenobi would despise at least. I think the model uses advanced shaders, which are not in Ja obviously. Do you think the similarity can still be preserved somehow?

Just watched the video originally shown on ABC. Try the link below, though it might or might not work. http://vk.com/video-31434822_171051520 Anyways, the thoughts are...

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

Here is the latest rumour of locations, which the Millenium falcon would visit (no specific names of the locations though): -
It's been a while since I visited this thread. The last thing I remember was about the lips, and facial expressions as well. It is true, that both these and the body movement are in need of improvement. In Deus Ex, which is far older than JA, the characters never looked static - one could notice them breathing for instance. Surely JA presented default animations, when an NPC would stand, doing nothing and look around occasionally. But it looks quite dull. So what's the story now? Is there any chance of improving the animation, changing the skeleton and other stuff?

The duel in the trailer reminds pretty much Mustafar (though I disapprove the appearance of the planet in the series, mainly because it falls into the same rule as others - peculiar plants in SW? Felucia of course. Giant alien species against bad guys? Look at the wookies on Kashyyk only! Something terrible and volcanic? Try Mustafar) The scene has the coloring of the planet from Episode III. We might remember that it made an appearance in TCW as well, at least twice - as a base for Sidious experiments and a base for Black Sun. The funniest thing is that according to books the planet as a mining world for one of the separatists organizations like Techno Union. Yet we see no CIS armies not in a single shot. It would be in due time, that someone would die in Season's finale. However I can't see, who that might be. Inquisitor is too charismatic to be removed from the series right now. More than that - he is an iconic figure in the whole Rebels, like Darth Vader in OT, Darth Maul in Episode I and Darth Malak in KOTOR. I also doubt that would be Kanan, his story hasn't been told just yet, but wait... Force Ghosts haven't been cancelled. I am sure Kanan would return as one, even if he were killed. But we have Vader in this episode, so... It would be foolish to suspect, that a few heads (including Imperial ones) wouldn't suffer for certain failures.

@DrXann Well, they do. But in reality they are not. But I agree, some scenes are quite persuading. -
@@DrXann Which one exactly? I can only see one in "Appearances". @@DT85 I like the idea of Mon Mothma. In earlier video games she was once seen in a hood as well.

Encountered a fan-edit trailer for Episode VII. I usually ignore such videos, I mean, I do watch such works, but am more eager to see something real. But this is worth watching. I wonder how they added scenes very similar to what we already know from original trailer for TFA. Careful though, the video is close to many spoilers discussed in this thread. -
This looks very good, well-planned and designed map. At first I couldn't believe this is actually JA. I think, the chandeliers change the appearance a bit - they add the light to the ceiling, though in KOTOR that part remained quite dark. The light was coming through the holes near the walls, and through the space in the ceiling (you can actually see dust and daylight coming through). But I guess the Academy could have gone through a redesign. Surely these walls have been removed by later Sith, when they constructed a large piramid, which included the Academy, made completely of metal walls and large hallways with lots of electronic lights. but I like the older variant more.

There is a rumour, that three characters - two from OT and one from TCW - would be seen in Season 2 pilot episode. I also think, that Fulcrum is a female... Despite the unknown appearance, and the hood. It can be a hologram fake.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

Yep, during the premiere of Avengers it seems. But who knows? I can't remember any similar secrecy around any other Episode of Star Wars before their release. Episode VI maybe, but that was a long time ago, I can't say for sure. ) For now Episode VII is a puzzle for me, and I try to put all the things together - I did the same with Episode III to tell the truth. But it never had so much contradicting stuff in one piece! -
We've added new models into the mod. One of the fractions will piloting this ship. RSJ-710 is a light starfighter, with only a few weapons, concealed to make the ship look as a merchant vessel. The Rutana clan uses these old starships to transport historical artifacts.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

@Arachno-Man What a nice portion! Though about the "castle" stuff - is was rumoured some time ago. And I also strongly believe, that the so-called wish is 90% true. I wonder how would they put into the film the events of 30 years period after Endor. In Episode IV the then unknown conflict of the past - the legendary Clone Wars - was wisely presented by a dialogue between Obi Wan and Kenobi. The mere name of that war brought in some thoughts, which were enough to understand, that it was something very special for the Galaxy. I wonder if something like that would be mentioned by the characters in TFA. Several months ago i made a post with rumours regarding one very old character. I assume, he would be the one to retell the stories of long forgotten past. I also stick to the opinion, that the Galaxy has been in such a disarray by the time of Episode VII, that the true stories and facts have been wiped and people rely more on what they see now, rather then remembering the Clone Wars or minor conflicts like battle of Naboo. Some would even not know, that the Trade Federation ever existed, and that the conflict was more between the Republic and greedy corporations+ separatists rather than just the cloners, Jedi, etc... -

I also believe Coruscant will appear in Episode VII, at least a glimpse of it. For now we know, that: It's notable, that in most shots of desert planet we see people (humans) mostly. No aliens (except for a small video with J.J.). I guess showing one alien or another would reveal the true identity of the location, thus no Rodians, Ishi Tib, Nikto, as well as and Jawas seen. -
Oh, the picture has been removed. Anyways, the other picture, which is easy to find, shows that Fulcrum might be a very new character. In the past however we saw many cases, when a character could disguise himself via shadow hologram projector for instance - not difficult to change four arms to two.
-
It seems, that the Fulcrum theory might yet prove to be wrong. Anyways, part of the spoilers above might be true anyways. You might find interesting, that there is one more picture regarding the Fulcrum here... Be careful!
-
The latest rumours suggest, that people like @Intone and @@DT85 (if I am correct) were not far from truth in their speculations. Be careful! This is a major spoiler!!! While there are about two more episodes to watch until Season 1 ends, there are already rumours regarding Season 2. On of the good (perhaps) news, that it will include about 24-26 episodes unlike Season 1, which is surely just a startup. The next spoilers are quite hot, so be careful!

@Archangel35757 A very good point! Since Rebels have been confirmed to be about 4 seasons (even possibly with 20+ episodes in each), this will be the story told about the 4-5 years before Battle of Yavin IV. I do believe, that the Inquisitor would be destroyed, thus Vader would be stepping out as the main Jedi hunter again, though surely there are other matters to attend to. Kanan might or might not die, but Tarkin would be positive, that this Jedi died as well. @zeƒilus I think, Tarkin is a very confident man about things he believes and things he says, even if he were wrong. Back in Episode IV he was still sure, that the Death Star would destroy Yavin IV. he shows such traits in Clone Wars as well, both during the raid on the Citadel CIS prison (he doubts the methods of the Jedi) and the trial on Ahsoka Tano (he was quite pushy there and even when it was proven the other was guilty, Tarkin said nothing). I also think, that Tarkin would consider a Jedi only those, who pose a threat. A dead Jedi is surely nothing to fear about, but a weakened, unfocused, old or crazy is surely not to be afraid of, as according to Grand Moff theory. @DrXann You are quite right. With the release of Episode IV the general idea was that the Jedi and the Republic with their old traditions were wiped out, with the Emperor now being more of a puppet controlled by military and bureaucrats like Tarkin. The EU sources stated much later, that Tarkin was quite ambitious, and Palpatine still wanted an eye on him, so that the Death Star would not be used against the current Imperial regime. It is also true, that the Jedi were the only fraction in Episode IV, and the Emperor and his people (who were not deemed as Sith in 1970s) somehow feared the Order with so many powers. I also think, that Palpatine no longer believed, that the Sith ideals would work as they worked for Revan, Malak, Exar Kun and Darth Bane (and of course his master Plaguies). For him the Empire was a very unique institution (and it actually was), that was nothing like the Sith Empires of the old times, which relied on Sith ideals, on Darth stuff and other things, which became irrelevant during the Clone Wars. Rule of two or rule of many - had no significance as long as any method or decision would bring him closer to his goals.
-
It would be only natural, that Kanan would die before Episode IV. I am still convinced that after Episode IV the hunt for the Jedi is almost finished - they are really-really dead, except for a few, seen in the film. And a few more, from the EU, like Qu Rahn. But his story is far from being told. We are yet to see a lot more of his adventures. I also believe, he won't be turned to the Dark Side. It's a wonder to see Tarkin in the same scenes as Inquisitor. More than that it's quite interesting to compare the three Tarkin characters - from Episode IV, from Clone Wars and from Rebels. There are similarities, but we can clearly see the development of the character. In CW he is more like a military idealist, still backing the ideas of legitimacy and law. In Episode IV he is more of a military leader with principles, very much loyal to the Empire. In Rebels he is the mix of two. Interestingly, that he tolerated the prosecution by the Inquisitor, but would ask Vader to "release" the choked Motti. I can't wait to see people from the Imperial circle on Death Star. Including Motti. And what about Mas Ameddaa, Sate Pestage and Palpatine himself? =)

Just watched Rebels Episodes 10 and 11. Good to see familiar faces.

@ShadowPhoenix No secret, that characters from both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy re-appear in DP. Also heroes (and villains) from other sources make an appearance or a minor cameo.
