  1. I agree that an official JKHub server would be a bad idea. But it would be nice to have a server that is "On neutral ground" for Hub users, as frankly, I would love a server to visit that has no clan affiliations, that way the server doesn't get bogged down by anyone's politics, it can just be to the point, and a place for anyone to play. So basically what SiLink said. A server for anyone, but not explicitly associated with JKHub. This would also mean the the JKH staff don't need to worry about moderating it and the like, that would fall to you/whoever you wish to make admin, if you choose to moderate it at all. I certainly think it was a bad move to put JKH's name on it before getting permission.
  2. /me points to the tutorial section.
  3. So, KAK is once again live thanks to Rach, and JKG now have their own servers, so I figured that I might as well run search and destroy there while it is not in use for any other event, or until we find anything else we wish to do with it. So if you want to give search and destroy a go, hop over to kak.jk3.in. You will need to bring atleast three friends for it to make any sense though (feel free to give me a yell if you need an extra player =P). How to play: http://jkhub.org/tut...ch-and-destroy/ You will need the map: http://jkhub.org/fil...tooine-streets/ And optionally, you may want to install clanmod: http://jkhub.org/fil.../1186-clan-mod/ If you want to pick up the skins of the regular players, they can be found here: http://jkhub.org/cal...-world-cup-kak/
  4. Kak is back and with an easier IP! /connect kak.jk3.in (no port needed) See you all tomorrow night!
  5. Oh hai.
  6. Yeah...I'm totally not scheming something of this nature for search and destroy B2 xD
  7. I suspect the angle -1 you have set is taking priority of the target_null you are telling it to point at, try deleting that key, however, I recall having similar problems myself trying to get water to shoot in the direction I wanted to so there might be something else going on here too,
  8. They are completely stable if you do it right =P But yeah, if you know how to script, that is simpler =P

I love this website, and all that is meant to be about. However, moderation, and the conduct of certain moderators is frankly, insulting, ineffective and in many ways just dumb. If you are going to lock every thread that disagrees with the opinions of the staff, especially when it concerns users' opinions on the conduct of the moderators, you are going piss off your users to the point that they wont want to use your site. Frankly, if you continue to ignore our opinions on the way the site is run, you are going to loose your most active contributors. I'm not saying you should instantly bow to our every desire. But you CANNOT continue to try to silence users whenever they make their opinions known about the way the site is handled.
  10. ..waaaat...how...

I'm sorry, but i just have to say... >.>
  13. It tends to be a case of trial and error. The closest you will get is using modview http://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/31-how-to-use-modview/
  14. And then @@Szico VII posts, shattering the dreams of all other mappers. xD
  15. Neat =P Pro's do it without scripts. ENTITY TOWERS!
  16. Do you have enough chairs? xD But on a serious note, looks like a good start. My only real criticism is the room seems a bit over sized, and uniform with little in the way of features. A bit too "giant cube" for me. Perhaps try and break it up a little? Maybe add some pillars, or try texturing different parts of the floor differently, just to help it not feel like a giant uniform cube filled with chairs. You may also want to scale it down a little? Seems somewhat over-large to me, but if giant is what you are after, obviously disregard this. Making the room smaller will also help increase FPS. Another option might be to divide it into several rooms? But yes. All just suggestions, so feel free to disregard them if I am missing the point of what you are aiming for.
  17. Hmm that is mysterious. However: Stop it xD Either way, I'd try loading it up in a different version and seeing what it looks like. Maybe try compiling from a different version see if there is any change. Also, sometimes i find that when working with complex shapes, if i re-load the file it has actually saved as a completely different shape. Could be that. On an unrelated note, what's with your crazy set of billions of evenly spaced lights? If you are doing that you may as well just global light it via the worldspawn.
  18. Version (v1)

This config file allows you to use a single button to switch your force keys to selecting and using usable items. Allowing you to have controls for usable items without taking up any keyboard space. I've been using this for ages and figured other people might find it useful. Installation: Put qef.cfg into your gamedata/base folder. Use: Open the console in game and type /exec qef Now use Q E and F as normal, to select and use force powers. Press Alt to switch to/from usable items. Configuration: The change the keys from Q,E,F,Alt, open the cfg in notepad and follow the instructions prefixed by //
  19. It didn't. I had it in my favorites list and it just showed up as a dead IP.
  20. I. Don't. Believe. It.
  21. Looks pretty cool sir.
  22. Maybe with Area Portaling xD When you compile your map with vis, that step calculates what parts of the map can be seen from where, by breaking the map up into Area Portals. This allows it to only draw the areas that the player can see from where he is, making your map run faster as it doesn't have to display the entire map constantly. This could also refer to a type of shader which you can place in your map, which lets you tell radiant manually how to break up particular areas. This part is dead easy. It's just a case of using the correct shaders. First off, load up system and apply Caulk Water to the brush you want to be water/waterfall, then apply a water shader(I think these are in common? I don't recall.) to any visible sides (usually the top). For a waterfall, you just need to use a different shader that makes the water appear to flow downwards. The base water shaders don't look all that great, so you may well want to make your own. I'm sure there are plenty of people about who will instruct you on making a good water shader. It was discussed here http://jkhub.org/top...darkjeditv-wip/ Its just a case of rotating, aligning, and scaling the shader correctly. Hope that helps.
  23. Hmm...that is odd...Don't think there is a cvar to disable them...Perhaps you have a mod that has made them invisible?
  24. I'll see about maybe changing to day, but not sure how possible that is. Assume Monday again for now. Alternatively, I could try making the time later?
