  1. Good luck =P But naw, for once its not me getting banned, I havn't JKA'd in ages.
  2. I seem to have WAY more than 6 IPs, to the point that I rarely get the same one twice. As I recall, you can range ban by replacing parts of the IP in the ban list with 0s. EG my current IP is 86.147.233.196, you could swap that for 86.147.233.0 or even 86.147.0.0 so all IPs beggining with 86.147 will be banned. The downside of this is that you will end up banning a few other people who use the same IP range (usually people in the same area on the same ISP) however, so few people play jka, that you prolly wont catch anyone in the crossfire who actually plays the game. edit: am I the only one who thinks its bad bad bad that the number 0 looks like a letter o on this forum? edit edit: in fact, its a little weird how the numbers are indented up and down seemingly at random( see: 6789), what's with that?
  3. Sounds more like your rcon pass got hacked. Most likely autodownload.
  4. Indeed. If you want to send it over I can almost certainly find the problem. Skin troubleshooting is my forte =P
  5. @@MoonDog I by no means think you are a "blundering novice". The little I have seen of your mapping is far more profesional than anything I have ever made. I just think its madness to use 30 painstakingly clipped brushes instead of 4 automatically created patches. And of course, it is fine to have multiple solutions to a problem, I was only trying to explain how in this case, I think my solution is better, so that anyone reading this can make an informed decision on how to aproach this problem. I was not trying to shout you down, nor do I think what you have to say is less valuable than anything I do, because you are plainly a far better mapper than me already. I'm sorry if my posts seemed offenseive to you, it was not at all my intention for them to be so.
  6. Thats a similar but unrelated problem. Also @@MoonDog, your solution is still about 4 billion brushes. and as @@The One and Only said, you really want to avoid off grid vertecies, not only do you get odd visual bugs ("cracks" in the map) with lots of crisscrossing diagonal brush joins, often, working on the smallest grids/completly off the grid (any thing less than the 1 grid is dangerous ground) will cause the verticies to distort and end up either being unworkable, or randomly moving on save/load/compile. Really, really really, Use caps. If you are trying to join somethin gup with a patch, use another patch!. If its a curved thing, use a patch people, its what they are for. edit: have added a version of my solution as a tutorial.
  7. Damn you dragging me out of bed to end this madness >.> @@MoonDog - No. NO NO NO. You are bad and you should feel bad. Thats like 7,000 brushes. What to actually do: First off, because radiant doesnt know what it is doing with cylinders, take the lower right corner of your cylinder and make a bevel: now cap it like so: Delete the bevel and the top part of the endcap: now move the bottom part up to the top and copy/paste/rotate it around: Add brushes if you need it to be wider:
  8. Shader shenanigans maybe? Is this a base texture you are applying? Perhaps a conflict with other pk3s in base? Try emptying base of all other (non-assets) pk3s Failing that, I can prolly fix it if you show me the pk3.
  9. You need to cap it. You should be able to select various options under "cap selection" or something of that nature
  10. I think most of your in-mod-updater woes are imagined/exaggerated sir. In what sense is it less reliable? It hardly takes long to start the game, so i don't think waiting out splash screens is a real issue in this situation, and you would have to wait for the launcher to load anyway if it was done that way. As for worries about updating the updater, that really makes no sense, as the updater would be part of the mod, and it is the mod that we are automatically updating. Personally, I would far rather have to load the game an extra time to get an update than have to use/keep up to date an extra launcher-program just to use/keep up to date the actual program.
  11. I think my real objection, is that if you include a load of features that some people consider junk and will never look at, you will discourage a decent number of people from using it. For example, The chat thing and clan support, I think everyone has a use for. Achievements and the like; not so much. You don't want people thinking of an actually very useful mod as "that achievements mod" and never looking at it due to not being interested in achievements. To return to the topic of the launcher, am I right in saying that the main point of the launcher is to make installing mods easier for people who don't really know how that works? If so I think that really is a waste of time. This game is so far down the road now that nearly everyone who plays it (and certainly anyone who will be interested in installing a JKHub API) already know how installing mods works now, and on the whole, would prefer to have complete and direct control over that rather than using a program to do it for them.
  12. make sure they are in mono format try mp3s if that fails.
  13. I personally just have a loathing for them as they are an extra unnecessary step you need to go through to start the game. Its bad enough that you have to sit through a ton of lengthy company logo sequences on most games every single time you play them. (what's with that anyway? I know who made/paid for the game after I opened it the first time<.<) .
  14. This is a forum. All topics are discussions. I see no reason to shield any legitimate conversation from the public eye.
  15. The short version of my opinions on this concept: Sound lame. Keep your JKG style launcher far far far FAR away from me. Sound awesome.

  17. Fair enough, however the way you worded this: makes it sound like the whole improving relations was a happy side effect of helping other clans grow, and besides, just allowing other clans to visit your server to advertise will create relations between you and that other clan anyway. I don't see how having an approval system can do anything but limit the opportunities to connect with other clans, and perhaps dissuade clans from visiting you and advertising who would have if you just allowed it. Forgive my cynicism, but I think if this truly was a selfless act of generosity towards other clans you would have just lifted the rule. I'd love to be proven wrong though, as the idea of parts of the JKA community connecting more and helping each other out is one that I approve of greatly.
  18. I cant help but feel a far more effective method of achieving the same result would be to lift your no recruiting rule entirely. It's not like Jawa is desperate for new members, and if people are already playing on your server, the chances are they have already decided if they fancy joining Jawa or not, so hearing about other clans on there isn't going to really make much difference. If your goal was really to be "selfless", as you said in your post, then its the obvious move. Just a thought.
  19. I keep meaning to finish this game. But the start is SOOOO SLOOW to get going that i die of bordum before i get to the real game...
  20. I totally didnt accidentlally derp my roman numerals and was talking about ff7.
  21. Not exactly news that this is the most awesome soundtrack about, despite being midi: far better than the actual game >.> edit: totally not edited.
  22. I assume you just add -notjunc to the run line for q3map2
