The path of the Apprentice
TheWhitePhoenix replied to dark_apprentice's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
Hey @@dark_apprentice? I'm a bit late, but THE FALCON WORKS NOW! She lands with no problem! No Slave 1 glitch! Addon: @@Jeff, you deserve some credit in it. You did tell Dark how to properly export the vehicle file, after all. -
Modifying textures using GIMP
TheWhitePhoenix replied to TheWhitePhoenix's topic in Modding Assistance
Thanks, JAWS. That does explain a bit on the face part. -
Modifying textures using GIMP
TheWhitePhoenix replied to TheWhitePhoenix's topic in Modding Assistance
More advanced texturing methods such as making faces as well as scars. I also want to learn how to make beards and remove them. There are some that copy faces from photos and put them on the textures with amazing accuracy (like here for example https://jkhub.org/files/file/2482-the-force-unleashed-galen-marek-starkiller/ though there was also an obi-wan model using the hapslash model that had better accuracy) And I would like to learn that. -
Huh....Looking back, the hood DID look more like Toshi's Anakin rather than the hood originally made for the model. Not bad.

Welcome back fully, @@The Punisher.

The path of the Apprentice
TheWhitePhoenix replied to dark_apprentice's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
So essentially, there will be a ported section with advertisement to a mega/mediafire file link? That doesn't sound so bad, cause if there are pictures also showing what the mod is, that could be a plus as well. -

The path of the Apprentice
TheWhitePhoenix replied to dark_apprentice's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
I for one remain optimistic for the future cause if more and more are coming to join the hub and even becoming interested in the game cause of whatever circumstances brought them over (MB2, the backlash against BF2 EA, etc), then that helps in the long run cause this game's modding community really has something that no other modding community has, even the community on Nexus (which is good to be fair) can't compare. -
Star Wars: The Tale of The Aethers

I'm back on production of the series and Episode 5 of season 1 is now in production. -
The path of the Apprentice
TheWhitePhoenix replied to dark_apprentice's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
I agree on that cause even modelers like scerendo started off small such as making their own kitbashes and frankensteins. My hope is that MD2R and KOTF 2.1 cause a renaissance and respark interest in the game for new comers. -

That is the ONE tutorial that no one ever made for this game yet, TBH. -
Modders screw around with EA in Battlefront 2
TheWhitePhoenix replied to Gorc's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
And this is karma at it's finest against EA. TBH, when I saw this the first time (the pink Vader), I couldn't help but laugh for a bit cause it was poetic in a sense. -
The path of the Apprentice

Truer words have never been spoken. And I will add my own statement. Those who do either full models (@@Scerendo), frankensteins (@@Seven's female reborn) or even ports can help the community go a long way in the end. Take machinima makers like myself for example. Any sort of model can help us depending on the story we want to tell, and making one yourself (from a simple skin to a frankenstein to a full model) can go a long way with your own creativity. @@Jeff has helped me a lot in that regard with the stuff he has made, and @dark_apprentice as well with his own work that we all downloaded from this forum, and in turn their work has helped my own as well as others, from simple use in the game to full on machinima making. In closing, I'm glad this misunderstanding was quickly resolved. -

I for one am very appreciative of what Jeff, Dark Apprentice, Tompa, Swegmaster, The Punisher and others are doing with their ports/frankensteins as well as the legit modelers like Scerendo and Plasma but I will admit that the constant requests from people who can easily install Blender (or their modeling software of their choice) and learn the ins and outs of it can be quite annoying. If they have the time to comment, they have the time to learn themselves. Sure, you can make requests, but constantly making them on a day to day basis will get annoying to no end. -
What's Rosh Penin's real hilt?
TheWhitePhoenix replied to syainkn's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
If I recall correctly, after JKA, Rosh did create an orange Lightsaber of unknown design, but he sorta dropped off the face of the EU. He probably did fight in the Yuuzhan Vong War onwards alongside Jaden, just in the background. -
You can remove this yourself by editing the skin file. Find the cape and put this after the coma ",": *off. Then save it via notepad.

Forgot to add this but @@The Punisher, great work on your part. Same to @@Kualan.

Modifying textures using GIMP
TheWhitePhoenix replied to TheWhitePhoenix's topic in Modding Assistance
I've dabbled a bit with the smudge and burn/dodge tools to hide the beard textures to give off the illusion of "clean shaven". But it still looks finicky. -
I've been skinning my own private models (from base models to my own frankensteins) for some time, but I've only done the basics such as changing the colors and greying them out all using GIMP. It's the software I'm most comfortable with and I want to use more advanced stuff like removing beards (or adding them) and even putting faces on textures (for example, the Kylo Ren face on Hapslash's Anakin head model here: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3251-kylo-ren-revamp/ ) but I never figured out exactly how to make it as good as it does here. You guys got any advice if you use GIMP?

The path of the Apprentice
TheWhitePhoenix replied to dark_apprentice's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
@@dark_apprentice The falcon model is great. Already reskinned it for custom use and tested it. There's one problem: Whenever it lands, it literally dips and it looks like it crashes when it lands. The problem stays when it takes off again.
