  1. While I can't say the results are "better" than stock, the effects sure are gorgeous and with tweaking to taste it could be a giant improvement... great work @@eezstreet!!
  2. It's not even that it needs to be less grunge (unless all your textures are grunge haha) but the key to all of this is subtlety!! High resolution recreations will get the job done, any sort of scratches, dents, added texture, bumpmapping etc. is icing on the cake and can easily mess it up if not done tastefully.
  3. I'm curious now... can't wait to hear about it.
  4. Looks great so far man. I'd highly encourage you to keep this up. I will say be careful HOW you recreate the textures... some people won't like it if they all look grungy. Try and go for realism, while staying true to the original. It bothers me when "updated/improved" textures are really just darker, higher contrast version with some grunge overlays. =/ But like I said, so far it looks very good, keep it up.
  5. Been reading a tutorial on replacing the menu music in JA... I can't get my music to work, and I found out it's because it's not 129kbps (I thought it was a typo since 128kbps is very common), but can't find a program that will convert audio to MP3 44100Hz 129kbps. Thoughts?
  6. I was messing with some mod ideas and realized just how hard it is to figure out what textures are for what. I wanted to find the texture for the effect that happens when your character is hit by lightning, but there's so many that it could be... anyone have any tips on how to figure out what textures correspond with certain things in the game? For effects like this they never show up long enough for you to see them in-game in any detail.

  9. WinRAR says unexpected end of archive when I try to download and open it. Trying again now. Also, PM me when you're free, I need some help with a mod of my own involving a couple small things from here. EDIT: Tried again, same error. Before it finishes downloading it just says unexpected end of archive. Check your zip and re-up?
  10. Awesome man, I'll give this a shot when I get home tonight.
  11. Cheers man. Haha, oh yes I recall that pack, very cool stuff. Submitted, waiting for approval.

TITLE: Zombie Boba Fett AUTHOR: Botdra Lar'les +++++++++++++ Description: +++++++++++++ I took the base Boba Fett model and decided to make him a bit of a Halloween-esque appearance. He has no scalp and his brain is showing, with blood dripping down the sides of his helmet. His hands also have blood on them to give the player the impression he ripped off his scalp himself. Plus, you know, bloody hands are cool. +++++++++++++ Credits: +++++++++++++ Myself, Kalek for some testing, and whoever made that free brains texture I edited and morphed onto Boba's temple. +++++++++++++ Installation: +++++++++++++ Open the .zip file and extract the files to your Jedi Academy base folder. +++++++++++++ Other: +++++++++++++ If you wish to contact me for using this mod elsewhere, reporting bugs, etc. you can do so at: botdra@gmail.com Enjoy! 14. @ eventually I will, I've just had other stuff to do the past couple days. Still in my last week of exams. Will probably do it today or tomorrow.
  15. Only took you a week to notice.
  16. Sweet, just wanted to make sure this isn't just a polished code release, but something that's also going to be implemented by itself too. Looking forward to this.
  17. Sweet, so are you going to implement some of these into the base JA game like the console scrolling and bug fixes for us losers who don't/can't code?
  18. Short of a new model (or just remapping it), covering up the seems would be a great start, for sure. Especially with skins like these that are so sparse (no matter how high or low quality the skin is, it's still just a white trooper by design) you need to make sure it's as polished as possible.
  19. Just so I'm clear, this basically seems like an advanced, remedied version of the source code. Correct? Rather than modders having to put up with the glitches in the open source code that was released, you take out the headaches and make it more usable, more straight-forward and add some nice features as well?
