  1. @@Cerez, one of the goals of this JK Enhanced effort was to improve the visuals-- the new Rend2 renderer makes this possible now across the board... environments, assets, characters, etc.
  2. The video links to this description page: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/PivotPainterTool.html Looks like UE4 uses this method for grass, scrub-brush, tree limbs interaction. @@Xycaleth, Can this be added to OpenJK or rend2?
  3. Could the vertex Shader method demonstrated in this video (and its more detailed method description link) be used to do some minor hair motion for cutscene cinematics??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfiFQ8dOo5Y
  4. The mouth/lips are an area that I haven't worked on since the initial mesh... so they are still a bit crude. They're on my list of things to improve. @@Xycaleth, I think it's the unnatural slit opening that is the issue-- it's just temporary to keep vertices from getting accidentally welded together.
  5. Here's the latest update (WIP 39f): I still see quite a bit of places that need smoothing... but it's getting to be a more accurate match IMO. Here's a turntable view:
  6. @@Cerez -- cinematic cutscenes will benefit the most... during actual gameplay I don't see these new facial expression features being utilized... except to perhaps put facial expressions to taunts.
  7. One main thing on the installer-- please make sure it uninstalls itself completely (should a user decide to do so...) and not leave any files or folder structures behind, etc.
  8. What you see is an anomalous artifact from me mirroring the front image across the vertical plane-- her head doesn't follow that outline in that area.
  9. @@DT85, @@Psyk0Sith, @@Xycaleth, @@eezstreet, @@Cerez... and anyone else-- what features would you envision/expect to see in a facial expression/lip-sync GUI? I'm open to suggestions while I'm conceptualizing the GUI.
  10. Unless I missed it... he's busy focusing on characters/assets for DF2 mod. Why don't you guys volunteer to help him out...
  11. Pure awesomeness!!! Keep it up!
  12. Hah! I purchased both Mudbox and 3D-Coat... I will most likely use them in the final stage and for making the lower LOD versions... I just don't have time to learn them now. @@DT85 -- I also think we need to make a dedicated humanoid female skeleton that is just a little bit shorter than the original-- plus give it breast bones. I will go ahead and do this for the Jan Ors model.
  13. Update (WIP #38): The neck is pretty much done... working on the finishing the skull now.
  14. Update (Work-In-Progress #31): The face is really close to being finished... just need to smooth out a couple of areas and also spread out the vertices along the forehead centerline. Here are some wireframes... Now I need to start gathering reference for female teeth and start modeling the inner mouth, teeth, and tongue-- as well as finish the back of the skull and neck. Hopefully things will begin to go more quickly.
  15. Here's the latest progress working against the backdrop of this ISO reference image of Mandy Amano:
  16. I'm "eye-balling" it and using various camera angles and the ISO ref image above. It's working out pretty well-- already significantly better!
  17. Here is the state of the mesh from working with only a front and side reference photo... I've placed this ISO reference photo best I can to the current mesh... and I'll use it to flush out the ISO details (chin area, cheek area, etc.):
  18. The ref photos were scaled so that the eyes match the eye locations of the skeleton. So the ref pics should match the skeleton. Yes... now I have to move verts around so that the ISO view looks correct to other reference photos
  19. I've widened the bridge of the nose, and did some general tweaking on the nose... I calling the nose finished. Moving on to the jaw area...
  20. Anything is possible now... I've gotten back to working on the Jan Ors head model and also laying out the concept for the Facial Animation/Lip-Sync GUI for 3ds Max. When @@Xycaleth returns to working on the rend2 renderer, I've asked him to support wrinkle maps (normal maps that accompany certain facial expressions and blend with the base mesh normal map ). For example: http://www.chrisoat.com/papers/Oat-Wrinkles%28Siggraph07%29.pdf
  21. I figured the Inquisitor would die... had to make room for Vader... and if he hadn't committed suicide I imagine he knew Vader would kill him in a humiliating strangle for his failures. Glad to see Ashoka-- guess she'll impart Jedi training & wisdom to both Kanan and Ezra at the secret moon base-- where Padme gave birth to Luke and Leia... yeah?
  22. I vote Mon Mothma-- we've not seen her yet in the series, correct?
  23. Leisure would be ~5 yrs younger than Ezra, no?
  24. Maybe Kanan Will find Anakin's dismembered arm/legs and use them to beat the Inquisitor.
  25. I believe the "Rebels" will attack and rescue Kanan... and they whisk away just before Vader gets to him... if Kanan doesn't kill the Inquisitor outright... perhaps Vader force-chokes him to death for his failures.
