  1. I've only used Dragon, but I'll switch programs whenever I get a new pc and internet connection. Dragon is fine for simple animations like stances and stuff. It can do things like saber styles since that's what I used, but the other programs are going to do it much faster and easier.
  2. A fun thing to do is make different config files with different character binds. For instance I have a 'Luke' config that has the arrow keys bound to four different Lukes. So I can press up and get Luke with a tunic, cape, and hood up. Down will be a tunic, cape, and hood down. Right is just tunic and left is RotJ outfit. Adds some fun rp to the sp game.
  3. I really like the grenade button idea and the weapons hitting harder. I'm not sure about changing the saber comabat to JKG's style. I've never heard about what that is so it may be great. I would be for the idea of adding it and allowing the player to switch between the two via console or as a seperate mod. I've always wanted faster projectiles for guns. They always seemed slow.
  4. Like this version. Did you lighten the skin when you put it on the body or is that two programs having different lighting?

    SP Ideas

Last time I tried it it would crash/quit to desktop when it was loading a map. I typically used the Bespin map to test models and skins before deciding to make a npc for use in sp. I don't have any mp specific mods installed (code or maps). I could probably do a reinstall, but I don't want to lose any mods in the process.

    SP Ideas

Unfortunetly my laptop hasn't been able to run mp for ~5 years. One day it did, and the next time I tried it it didn't.
  7. That was the coolest fight I've seen in the Clone Wars yet!

    SP Ideas

The cg_saberTrail 0-1 and cg_hudFiles 1 from mp. What would those commands do in sp? Is the saber trail code the same as the one in the .sab files? Would the hud files allow us to only have the numbers and no bars?
  9. Very nice indeed. Is it through the use of multiple hud files? Is there a console command?

    So what does this mean?
  11. Dual style for staffs! That is madness!
  12. For that just turn your saber bind to look like: bind f5 "saber kyle; setsaberstyle medium; addsaberstyle fast; addsaberstyle strong" Saber styles are: fast, medium, strong, tavion, and desann.
  13. Hmm. So in front of the body near the chest is the only other spot to go.
  14. That's a pretty cool idea. If it only works for 1st person then very cool.
  15. So I'm going to say Makashi has won the poll! I'm going to redo the stance to put the left arm on the hip since I brain farted when I put the arm behind the back. That would cause clipping with pretty much every animation in JA.
  16. Last weekend dl'd the game Castlevania Mirror of Fate for the ps3. So glad I didn't have to get a 3ds for this. It started slow but is getting better. The plot twist is so predictable.

  17. So, what is this used for? If someone writes a menu this will tell them if the syntax is correct?
  18. Well I wouldn't make one for JO. Once OJK is up it will allow us to use JA to run JO. So that's something to look forward to.
  19. I know the definitions of the saber forms. They are more a mentality to me then a set of animations. I think it is possible to use all 7 of the forms in base JO and JA, and that the player does so over the course of the playthrough.
  20. Opinions are welcome. Though your last statement is confusing to me: "It (real sword styles) feels like it's just mostly for show and skill, whereas in Star Wars, it was to defend/kill." - Circa That is actually 100% backwards to me. Real sword fighting is about surviving and killing where Star Wars is flash and excitement.
  21. I'm kind of itching to make a saber style. I was planning on waiting till I got XSI figured out, but I'll need a new computer and an internet connection before I can seriously consider that. In the meantime I'll be in Dragon. So which style would you all like to see? I have ideas for Makashi (form II), a staff version of Djem So (form V), and a Dual's version of Niman (form VI). Makashi My inspiration for Makashi is Polish saber. I know a bit about saber fighting so I'll be using myself as reference. Some vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBTtq2Gzm6w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG-YAEQ7FLw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8Qt_9OpgYw I have a basic style thought out and some ideas for an advanced style. The advanced style would incorporate attacks in the transitions and some counter attacks after blocks. That would give the players incentive to stay in close when fighting. Until we get the process figured out on how to add saber styles I will replace Tavion or Dessan's style. Staff Djem So The main idea behind this style is to look like something Exar Kun would use. This would be a single handed staff style utilizing very broad movements. It is going to be pretty basic and the attacks are going to be focused more in front, but the nature of the staff makes it cover a large area. These pics are WIP and I'm happy to take suggestions. Jar'Kai Niman I wanted to make a less flashy dual saber style. This could go one of two ways. One, would be having both sabers attack along the same line and using both sabers to block the sides. The other is a one saber attacks and the other covers the exposed side. I'd also throw counter attacks into the defense. That would look a bit funny when defending against blasters. I wanted to make this one before but lost interest in animating at the time. I could make this one work with JO models as well if people want. That means the left hand may have to move in unrealistic ways since there is no left hand tags on JO models. These styles would all work better without spins in the transitions. Until we get new styles added to the game I'll have to use spins wherever they are used in the styles I replace.
  22. Are you sure? You may be thinking of a mod, because I know from importing and messing with them that in base JA there are no breathing stances. The ones I'm working on now don't have breathing either, but I'll go back and add it in later.
  23. Ok I got some work no my 'two other things.' I should have a post about them Thursday night. So the next thing I'll work on is the saber on and stand1.
  24. Blah. Stuff keeps coming up. I'm going to do some things tonight. Hopefully get the saber on and two other things. Maybe then work on stand1.
