What is an estimated max total tri per level. Including characters on screen? Hiw does vis and cull range and area portals play into this?

I'm not sure, but I believe the limit is only related to brushes. I don't think models count towards that limit. But then again, I may be mistaken.

The only 'backup' I have is dropbox. I really should have a local backup like I used to 10 years ago with CD-RW + InCD

Well, even if you reformate the disk, you can still save the data with certain programs even after you've deleted it, but it doesn't always work.. I use Dropbox also and for studying projects and homeworks Google Drive.

I'm still using the one I got on the midnight release at gamestop. I think I even have the cardboard box it came in. I bought a second copy in the jewel case when I went into the Navy in case anything ever happened to my original. It is still sealed up in case I ever need it.
