Is this from trying to create a server from localhost (Computer) ?
I'm really not sure - I only play MP against bots, so I use the standard 'Create a game' option in the MP menu.

This was fun

First of .. dress her up. This is not an outfit for a battle (Jedi Academy outift is a complete joke). She is too naked. This is not type of the clothes armor you wear for fighting..
Second thing.. i would give her maybe some cool looking robes or even parts of the armor. Why only one woman in the reborn army has outfit looking like this?
Wait, you're talking about the outfit from JO or JA? Because yes, the JO outfit is silly, but so are the rest of the Reborn outfits (as someone, probably you, mentioned before). Is it combat-appropriate? That depends. The outfit, by the looks of it, provides mobility, and when you're fighting opponents who wield a one-hit-kill weapon such as a lightsaber, mobility is actually very important - you'll need a lot of dodging, jumping, etc., not to mention that as a Force-user, she does do a lot of jumping. Also, as a woman, being half-naked is also an advantage, considering the good guys (her enemies) are almost exclusively male (Mira in K2 actually called it)! Only two females on the good guys' side are Mon Mothma, who doesn't get out much, and Jan, who got kidnapped and held hostage.
Her outfit in JA was more 'appropriate' I'd say. Yes, it was still sexualized, but then, when we meet her on Vjun she actually does the whole 'sexy vixen' routine - the walk, the talk. (I actually spoke of her JA behaviour in a different thread, saying that she behaved like a dumped lover) In JA she's the leader of an underground cult of Force-users, so surely some 'alternative'/ new-age look would work. Again, sexualization and lack of armor are useful against saber-wielding men, but also, as cult-leader she probably wasn't even supposed to fight to begin with.

I think that the problem is that in order to pull off a convincing looking Dagobah the vegetation and tree canopy needs to be extremely dense - something just not incredibly feasible in JKA without destroying the user's frame rate. Maybe it could be done if it was just Yoda's Hovel and the immediate surroundings.
Or one can go with Build Engine's approach and make the tree canopy into a single physical object, like a roof
but maybe use Q3 engine's ability to make the object actually not physical, so one could jump trough it

This reborn for me looks great. I rly would like to see player model of thos design.
This should actually be easy enough to make - take hapslash anakin body, Frankenstein cultist head and reborn (or hapslash) hood, the armband from jedi_hm tunic (or fingerless gloves from cultist), a retextured shoulder pad from jedi_tf (black corset armor) or from Kyle, or from jedi_trainer, and maybe add a cape.
On a side note, it's a shame they didn't look like this in the final game release - this guy actually looks like a proper agent-type character
-
I really hate the direction things keep going - they always claim they're making changes to benefit users, make stuff faster and more comfortable, but in truth, stuff becomes glitched, slow, consumes resources, and you can't do squat unless you have a profile or pay money (when previously it was free), and the constant (and useless) updates are just annoying! This is how a standard Reborn should look like. The ones that appear in Jedi Outcast look like spandex wearing circus performers. And the fact that their faces are too similar to the Imperial Officers is, well, kinda weird.
And here is something that needs to be improved: character variations! One of the chief problems in both games is the repetitive character design. For example, the prisoners and the Jedi Masters share the exact same heads. This is madness. In terms of character variations, I thought the KotOR games were bad, but Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are embarrassing.
As for Jan, @@Archangel35757 was working on a higher quality model. The topic can be found in the Jedi Knight: Enhanced section. But thanks to the brilliant concept Photobucket has introduced, you can't see the pictures of his progress.
As for Tavion, I had so many ideas how a better model could look like. Let's begin with that she doesn't really resemble her Jedi Outcast version. Everything on her is different. I suggest that a basic model should be made of her, which can be used as a basis to create both her Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy incarnations.
Anyway, back to the Reborns - wasn't the common faces bit supposed to be a visual proof (in a manner of speaking) or trope that they were selected from among the imperials? After all, the Empire did force its military personnel to be as uniform as possible, maybe it was an inside joke on that? What if all those troopers have imp-officer faces under the helmets?
Yes, the jka Tavion really is different, she's taller - which is the main, and most pressing change in my book - whereas hair, face paint, tattoos, and clothes are subject to change.
As to character appearance variation, would it be possible to copy the jedi_random code for random appearance spawns and adapt it for other characters (after the latter get more variation, of course)?

Doesn't the TOR hilt pack satisfy your needs?

Yes, it's a somewhat late proposal.
Most themed forums' community sections are placed at the bottom of the forum list, and those pesky "ffa" topics are all there hurting nobody, so I was wondering - wouldn't it be a compromise to place the old random threads sub-forum to the bottom of the forums list, so as to both satisfy us lovers of forum-games and flaming, and not chase away potential newcomers?
Update: I'm talking about the infamous nonsense sub-forum, in case someone didn't get it.

It's this one: Improved Rosh Penin. It's been around for years. He does look way better than the basic model.
But the face just ain't Rosh, it looks older, which kinda ruins the character's annoying factor, you know?
-
Isn't that just Hapslash's Anakin reskinned? (Of course, it's an impressive reskin.)
I didn't know there was a Hapslash reskin for Rosh
I was actually thinking of one of these (this or this), but apparently Rooxon actually made a higher definition Rosh retexture
-
All one really needs is a gold-retexture of the standard Neocrusader (I believe one is already available?) with an frankensteined/ kitbashed Boba Fett cape. Should be very easy to make, provided you know how to do it.
-
Even an updated Rosh would be welcomed. The reskins are nice, but a new model would be cool.
Actually there is an updated Rosh model, but it's pretty old also.

Well now, color me impressed! The HD model for Rey does transmit Daisy Ridley's *ahem* unattractiveness (sorry, Daisy, it's just my opinion)
I'd say Alora (especially the Alora2 skin/ model) deserves an update. So do the Reborn, Ragnos, and the troopers (especially the Swamp- and Shadowtrooper-s). Jan needs a different model overal - the standard model/ outfit is just blah in my opinon. Also, I wouldn't say no to a Jaden HD remake, but that'd be too much work, so I guess that's not gonna happen.

Bye who?

I doubt that map's been ported, there seems to be a lot of brush work. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure ported maps are usually models that have been turned into maps, aren't they?
Not sure about "models that have been turned into maps" but I do have to agree, it doesn't look like a port (now that I tested it for myself
)

I don;t see teh zeb and sabine files in his dropbox tho, are they under one of those "month" packs?
Yes, archive is called "Jeff's junk"

Oh cool! Do you have a link?
Here's the thread, there's a link to Jeff's dropbox. Look around, he's got tons of goodies on there!

I also have a pack of KOTOR maps, and there's a Kashyyk map in it, but I'm not sure if it's ported or not, nor am I sure what all the assets for it are

@@Jeff made both, though the Sabine model could use a lot of improvement

So I reinstalled OpenJK and JA++, everything works more or less fine, except that I get some issues:
- In the 'Create a game' menu, whenever I select a bot, the name 'HUMAN' is stuck atop of the bot name, and it obstructs the reading. It's a minor issue, but it's there.
- When I select bots #6 and #8, their names are also displayed on #11 and #13 accordingly. #11 and #13 are otherwise normally selectable, except there are now three names atop one another!
- The bot 'Skill' option - the name of the skill itself keeps constantly flashing, though otherwise, it works fine.
- TFA mode disappeared. Instead the modes are 'Team Deathmatch', 'Siege', 'Capture the Flag', 'Capture the Ysalamiri', 'Free For All', 'Holocron', 'Jedi Master', 'Duel', 'Power Duel', and 'Cooperative'.
- When I select 'Team Deathmatch' the kill limit is called 'Duel limit', and the Duel mode has a 'Kill limit'. I actually have to change the kill limit on Duel mode so that TDm has a proper kill limit.
- 'Holocron', 'Capture the Ysalimiri', 'Cooperative' have no maps, and apparently there aren't any to download either on here, or on mrwonko's.
- There are no 'One hit kill', 'Hydroball' and '(Swoop) Race' modes - I know there aren't supposed to be, but there are maps for those modes, so why not?
- I can't 'kick' or 'change map' during the match anymore, it tells me 'Invalid vote string. Allowed vote strings are: allready'
- 'Jedi Master' mode prompts the players to catch the lightsaber, but whenever I approach it, nothing happens, it just lies there, and I can't activate or pick it up.
The way I see it, there's an overlapping of string files, but why is it happening? Shouldn't the game just use one at a time? But if not this, then what might be the issue? Need I delete something in the OpenJK folder?

That's part of an old Human Male expansion that was made during the old JK3Filefront days. It's not really the same thing. It's an imitation. A good one, but still an imitation using the base assets.
I know that file, but I think it actually was different - the shoulder pads on GPChannel's file (the screen that is) are physical, and not a texture (at least, that's what they look like)
-
So I was wondering, what are the oldest skins, models, and maps for JKA, ones that JKA veterans consider legendary?
