  1. @DrXann The list is most likely unofficial. Even if the names are in the film, the list must have been created by someone, who either knows something or implies these characters might be there. Usually the fake lists included names such as Jaina Solo or Admiral Thrawn. IMDB also showed such things, and certain actors hinted in their twitters, that one mustn't believe all they read in the Internet. And thus Jaina Solo was removed from there. Personally IMDB includes strange names sometimes in Episode VII. Rebel Admiral might be shown during a briefing or aboard the bridge. But large battles are sure to be seen in the film more than once. I can't wait for the trailer. I do like to analyze it and put pieces together before the release of the film. The characters, planets, legacy and others.
  2. I am using an older system, but I wonder, if the issue still exists even if you switch the coloring scheme of the Radiant itself. What I mean is that you can use a different grid, instead of white a black one (like in WorldCraft editor for Half-Life) can be put in place. Have you tried the grid size change? I mean, it can be turned off at all via a hotkey.
  3. Major spoiler published today. Here is a complete list of all characters, who might or might not appear in Episode VII. Caution! The spoiler includes not just the name, but some indications on the plot as well... Found here Also there is a spoiler description of the upcoming trailer. Be careful!
  4. I think, the show is closer to Episode IV. It wasn't really that dark as Episode III. 20 years have passed, and the blurriness between Dark and Light, Good and Evil is no longer needed: the Empire replaced it all, name it the Republic, the Trade Federation, Jedi Order, Naboo Peace festival or Boonta Eve Podracing. So basically Lothal represents, what we see on Tatooine. The difference is perhaps, that Lothal was a more civilized world, while Tatooine remains the same no matter what happens (Czerka Corporation or the Empire). The thing that the Empire is obviously and easily fooled by a group of freedom fighters, most of whom are either too young or simply amateurs regarding battles, should be taken through the scope of those, who represent the Empire: some over self-confident Imperial officers, agent Kallus and Minister Maketh Tua. And the Inquisitor. While the Minister seems to understand to some degree, what is happening, others seem not. I must say, that not only @Intone , but also Moff Tarkin is among those, who feel it's so regrettable someone fools the Empire around and even makes public laugh of that. However the incompetence, which caused this, results in most unfunny consequences.
  5. I would like to see more as well. How does that work for other NPCs, like Reborn and Desann maybe? It seems the movements are slower, but it's explainable, otherwise you would have to have a very good reaction.
  6. @Cerez The Utapau arc was somehow out of place. I did like the story, but not the idea, that Utapau remained really quite far from the Republic. Episode III showed as something more bizarre and strange than many other worlds. And TCW deminishes the words of the Paun representative in the film. Yet these four are not the last ones of the unfinished episodes. Four more will be shown a bit later this year.
  7. @zeƒilus It doesn't look like a professional drawing or a concept art. But it might be a sketch or a shot from a storyboard. You know what they are like. They have nothing to do with clarity, beauty or final design. They are merely a line of scenes, which follow one after another. If they showed several such screens, it would have been much clearer what is going on in the story.
  8. In DF2 Nar Shaddaa looks quite abandoned. While I would agree with @@hhunter6, that more civilians would only do good, I must say, that this emptiness in the streets is a nod to the epoch we see in that game: it's been almost a year since the times of the fall of the Emperor. But the Empire is going away slowly. The dark atmosphere is still present together with the criminal presence of the scum, as mentioned above. And the citizens wear grey to brown clothes, staying in the shadows of safe corners, rather than having a promenade near the tall buildings. Not much to see there though. It also seems, that Kyle visits not the center of the city, where casinos and bright ads would make blind someone, unfamiliar to large cities, So this quarter is shadowy and good enough for meetings such as with 8T88. No one would interrupt. Or if necessary all participants would be made silent. At the time I always compared Dark Forces II and The Phantom Menace video game. These two were the ones, which introduced a few cities in Star Wars universe with citizens. they are quite contrast in details. While the females in DF2 wear dark and grey clothes, sometimes hiding their head, the citizens and aliens in TPM (Theed, Mos spa and Coruscant) wear bright colourful garments, peasant sand dress or extravagant costumes, which are the trait, swift away by the Empire much later.
  9. Just found this picture on theforce.net Well, a fast sketch... It is believed to be the scene aboard the Star Destroyer with two characters. One of the them is the Phasma captain, played presumably by Gwendoline Christie. The other one is an Imperial, played by Gleeson. The hologram shows the character in stormie armor from the trailer released a few months ago.
  10. The best comment for this news is (from youtube maybe): "How many more times will I have to buy this?" I already have the version I like. But thank you
  11. Looks very much like an Assassin'c Creed apparel. No, really. There is so much in common! I remember the times, when Jedi Adventurer was introduced for the first time in the Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, together with Jedi Lord. There was no official appearance for them though.
  12. @Kylo Ren I think they say it's from a toy. It's funny, because I was searching for leaked images myself about three days ago, with the words for "The Force Awakens action figures" or "Star Wars Lego sets The Force Awakens 2015", you know. And it showed nothing. This level of secrecy is disturbing. =)))) While there no pictures I am not even interested in reading any spoilers, which are now many. I were thinking, that before and after the trailer we had absolutely no iconic things shown anywhere. We see the Millenium Falcon though, some details from classic stormtroopers, X-wing like ships and other minor things. No pictures, including concept art showed any aliens close to OT of the prequels, no classic speeders (but pretty much classic TIEs), no Rebels, Mon Calamari cruisers, other things like architecture of Alderaan of Coruscant, Bespin, etc. It's clear, they will turn up eventually, maybe even in two weeks time! But I think there is a reason, we see no Jawas or Tuskens, also no Ewoks and Ishi Tib. Neither Duros or Neimodians. And no Imperial officers. Such characters could be a hint and a major spoiler. Whilst J.J. and the team don't want that to happen just yet. But I really want to see Jawas. Yes. For me they are a symbol, that Star Wars continue and will continue no matter what happens - Malak destroys Taris, or Darth Vitiate makes another body host, or Dooku banishes Ventress from his domain, or Motti is choked to death by some man in black armor.
  13. Just read, that there will be 4 more episodes of Clone Wars previously unreleased. I have a feeling they've got an underground studio for that :)

Yes, the Aurra Sing and Mina Bonteri episodes were highly entertaining.

I still don't understand why they had to cut the show. The Clone Wars and Rebels could co-exist peacefully. They are for two entirely different demographics, after all...

Oh, they are released, but they are just in rough, storyboard form: http://io9.com/three-unfinished-clone-wars-episodes-have-been-released-1639677771

  14. It is funny, that Nar Shaddaa keeps discussions about DF2 and KOTOR2. To tell the truth I played a level, which represented NS from DF2 almost 99%. The difference was in speeders behind the windows and various crates and garbage, originally seen in KOTOR. It was an interesting mix of old and new ideas. As I said before, the older version of Nar Shaddaa from DF2 has both Imperial and OT patterns, and in my opinion seeing something else in the mod would feel strange. You can renovate the map by adding ships in the skies or more citizens and droids. Or additional rooms in the same style.
  15. That is a nice arena! I would make a second version for some beasts like nexu to appear there. But the one with Sarlacc is surprisingly good - that is because Sarlacc is truly a beast and according to the encyclopedia such a creature would grow more and more, eventually destroying all around it. But I like this map. And the roof area is especially eye-catching one.
  16. @zeƒilus I have to disagree - the concepts actually show a lot. Not just the ideas that would eventually end being seen in the film and the unused material, but also the path from one idea to another.
  17. Franfully, there are just so many spoilers, that it is difficult to decipher the whole puzzle. With the release of the next trailer (oh, and very-very soon by the way!) the shroud of secrecy will disappear. We'll have more shots to be analyzed by various fans and a whole bunch of concept art leaked by summer. I can't believe, that the film will be released this year!
  18. @Andrew Just to be safe - making backups is essential . But in case of 1.4. I usually copied a file in the past (e.g. test2.map to test2 copy.map), changed the name. And then started a new map, working on the actual location. Then Save as and choose the former test2 copy.map. That worked for 1.4. In later versions I experience no such problem.
  19. @Vulcan is absolutely right. You must check the compatibility options of the program. I had other issue with GtkRadiant 1.4. at least - it wouldn't save any new *.map file. Only Save as option worked, rewriting the existing file.
  20. @IrocJeff A few months ago I bought an album with concept art from the 1313 cancelled project. I might have mentioned or you might have seen yourself the concepts, showing not just the slums of Coruscant, but also the luxury penthouses above the Coruscanti cityline with swimming pools, Felucian exotic plants and svelte females lying in the sun. But I would agree that some ideas could be used for Nar Shaddaa, though I am usually against mixing the styles of the cities, so that each of them stayed recognizable. Some ideas from 1313 found life in the latest episodes of the Clone Wars show.
  21. For me Nar Shaddaa of the time of the Galactic Empire is actually that, which is seen in Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. The video wasn't that good to see all the details, but I really liked the feel, that there the city had a mix of garbage-Bespin and Imperial style. The plot suggested, that the Galaxy had just got rid of the Imperial grip and can now do whatever it wants (the many graffitis on Nar Shaddaa suggested, nothing could truly change such a place of scum and villainy). The first appearance of NS in games was Dark Forces II, though I can't truly remember the design from there. And some would say, there is not much to remember. Jedi Outcast seemed to be quite close to the styles of its time - most cities are like this. I also think, both limitations of the game and the desire to make Nar Shaddaa stand up to its own design, are the reasons why we see so many square elements. I must say, that the vertical city isn't supposed to be beautiful or well organized. So the architecture is quite crude. Later on the planet re-appeared in The Force Unleashed, and it is too bad the developers never truly showed us what it looked like before Battle of Yavin IV. At least on PC. Seeing this planet in KOTOR 2 was a surprise to me. First of all one of the video games magazines suggested, that the screens with skyscrapers was Coruscant, rather than the criminal moon. Secondly, I never expected this city to be that old! Just think - the whole construction stands for 5 thousand years and is older than some settlements on Tatooine as well as older than the whole Naboo civilization (cities of which looked older than most structures in Star Wars movies, except for Yavin and Jabba's Palace). SWTOR showed a glamorous Nar Shaddaa, which wasn't that different from Coruscant of the same game. I think a general layout of the level can be from KOTOR 2, but the style must be a mix of DF2, Jedi Outcast and a bit from other sources. Neon signs are a must.
  22. @Darth Futuza With all strong sides, the game is undoubtfully follows the same pattern, mentioned by @eezstreet right here. My reason for this game not being true canon is actually TFU 2. Still I would be ready to see some things from TFU in the new series, etc, rather than believing TFU had any actual impact on Darth Vader or the events of Episode VII... @zeƒilus That wall reminds me of Jedi Academy textures, which I've seen a lot as a mapper. Though there it is more metallic and bluish.
  23. I think that a mix of JO and JA would look better than two separate games. JA has a very decent design of Tatooine and Hoth, very true to Star Wars OT. But most of the levels were created - as it seems - by different designers than the ones in JO, who stayed true to the Imperial style for instance. Bespin might seem to be a bit odd. But overall what was made for that game surpasses certain missions in JA. If speaking of origins, it is clear, that the level with Sand Borrowers was inspired by the Dune series as well as the movie of Tremors. The whole concept isn't bad. and it was good to play a mission without mercs and stormtroopers for a change. And the game introduced some very good potential things like creatures and vehicles, which also presented a better gameplay. I wasn't aware of all those stories about Empire Reborn at the time, when JO was released. I only remembered a clear continuity from where Kyle was left in Dark Forces II (I hadn't a chance to complete MOTS and there were no books or wookiepedia at the time to learn, what was going on), so JO seemed to be moving in the right way - it had Kyle and Jan, Mon Mothma and the Empire, and Jerec was mentioned, while we also could see the Valley of the Jedi. What really felt odd those days is perhaps this: Up to this day I haven't found any information on the fact, that the Dark Jedi/Sith acolytes in KOTOR look very much alike the Reborn warriors in Jedi Outcast. I myself tried to understand this (as nerdy as it might be), whether developers of one game were inspired by the design of other game, whether this is some kind of Star Wars tradition (hoods everywhere) or a mere coincidence. No wonder, that the model of Reborn served many times to create the skins of dark Jedi from KOTOR.
  24. Is there any reason, why this news re-appeared? Galaxies were shut down a long time ago, but still - yes, that was a great game and great time. I mean, was there any significant event, which would cause someone (@Petzi )) look into the story of this wonderful project? I myself try to find at least some tiny pieces of information on SW Galaxies, hoping, that somehow the game isn't that dead, as it was claimed. It had so much material, so many things, and unlike many other games, it won't be able to be revived in any matter? KOTOR and Tie Fighter can at least be replayed, and modded. Their legacy can survive. But this one was an online adventure... So all those armor, datapads, terminals, Tatooine houses, planets, speeders, animals, trees, characters, species models, etc - all they are gone?
  25. I haven't seen any models for JA, but there are a few models, created years ago for Jedi Outcast. I remember using on occasion a model of Legolas. There was also a pack of orcs, one being from Moria surely. You can find this pack in this section. I've seen a pack of reskins of various characters as well, though they are far from perfect.
