  1. @@DrXann Oh, I can't really tell. He doesn't look like a trandoshan to me... He has some sort of a helmet and it covers its face. Maybe if the creature were moving, then it would be clearer, whether it's human or an alien. In Episode I there a few aliens, which can't be determined. When Darth Maul droid flies by, one is walking to the right, has a pilot costume, a helmet, but his face reminds some sort of white skull over his darker skin. I see other beings there, that visually are not humans as well. @ And here is the picture with my notes, there are not just stormtroopers, but other soldiers as well. Besides the black trooper (Commando-like guy from Dark Forces II), there are also different kinds of ordinary troopers, a snow trooper, an incinerator trooper (like in the Force Unleashed) and other military personnel in the background.
  2. @@DrXann The new astromech droids were revealed months ago, with some citizens and building from Jakku as well. The new X-Wing was also present from the spy footage from a drone, and it raised lots of speculations at once. The trandoshan, however, is something I've missed. Can you show that picture? Because so far Episode VII wasn't very generous regarding alien species - which raises another question: which aliens will we see in the film? Rodians, Ithorians, Duros, Bith, Neimodians, others?
  3. Another shot, which I like: it shows the technologically advanced stormtroopers in a medieval-like room: Also the screenshot, poster by @@Zappa_0 in a different thread, has an interesting detail: Can you see the guy in the black uniform to the right? He is standing behind the troopers. And looks like Death Star trooper or Commando from Dark Forces II. The figure in the distance with officers and 4 troopers with shoulder pads visible, raises lots of questions as well.
  4. I enjoyed the new Rebels trailer. The appearance of Rex somehow answers the question, which's been bothering quite a lot of people for years: What happened to the clones with Empire rise?
  5. @Cerez Yes, that's part of the Sith ideology - rule the weak.
  6. Well, that's an interesting topic. I would agree with @@Cerez regarding similarities between the tyrant orders, be it the Galactic Empire or the Sith Order of older times. Either the establishment, the existence or the affects were seen in the next several games: - Star Wars Rebellion (a major strategy with internal database. Showed both diplomacy and war used to conquer worlds. Search youtube for cutscenes, both victory and loss for either side (you will see the liberation of Imperial Coruscant, as well as the reprisals from he Empire, if you lose the final battle) - Force Commander (a strategy, showing both Rebels and Imperials and their attempt to seize the worlds. The videos from this game show the actual occupation of one alien world with their dwellers brutally massacred by stormtroopers) - Shadows of the Empire (just an alternative to show, that the Empire had other enemies as well, like Black Sun) - Dark Forces I (a very old game, I would recommend a mod for JA with the same name. Level 2 shows a city, ravaged by the Imperials, after they learnt that rebels were among the locals). - Dark Forces II (we see an occupied city of Barons He'd on Sulon, "Empire surely knows how to ruin a perfectly good city". The citizens are scared, attacked by thugs, while the Empire stays in a large tower in the centre of the capital, with ruined and abandoned quarters around). - Mysteries of the Sith (unlike its predecessors it shows an Imperial city of Katraasii spaceport with many citizens, while stormtroopers don't bother the locals too much) -Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (we see how the Empire deals with planets like forest Krant, asteroid colonies and others; we also see allies of the Empire, Reitha - the Imperial Agricultural world, attacked by Rebels, etc). However it is notable, that the games show the Empire the way we all perceived it back in 1990s. Today the image closer to the Force Unleashed prevails, which does't show any cities per se, more Imperial installations. There are also dozens of books. But it will take time to find proper description of the Imperial rule there. Though it might be useful if you need more details. During the KOTOR era the situation was a bit different: both the Republic and Sith Empire officially existed, while Rebels were in hiding mostly and almost no planets claimed their allegiance to the Rebels in open. Also the Sith seem to rely more on Sith ideals, while the Galactic Empire has their own Imperial philosophy, often omitting the fact, that they are ruled by the Sith. More that the Empire brought peace and security, as well as order to the Galaxy, ravaged by the weak Republic, corrupt Trade Federation and the Clone Wars with Jedi traitors. Notably, the Sith of the Malak Empire allowed local traditions to exist further - Taris had this one for instance.
  7. The video is no longer. It's curious, that we have the phrase of Obi Wan Kenobi about the Jedi and the Dark times, yet the film is about the Rebellion, not the Jedi most likely. I would like to see Kyle Katarn in the movie, but he is no longer canon, too bad. If J.J.Abrams were directing the film, the character would have a little cameo, he would be accompanying the new heroes in their attempt to steal Death Star plans. Lethal Alliance, I think, was the game interpreting the events of Dark Forces from a different side... I wonder how would they cope with the matter of showing a different epoch in Star Wars. Not only it's different in style, but also it's a movies, made in 1970s... Different acting, different manners, faces and character types.
  8. You can watch a teaser for Rogue One here. I got the general idea. Oh... I've used all of the words for Episode VII trailer now. Just watch and perhaps you will find what to say about it. https://youtu.be/NELx1y8cr1M
  9. I wonder who the female inquisitor might be. Her helmet looks intersting, though her status raises lots of questions. The other guy looks too grotesque in my opinion. I still think, that there is no better Inquisitor than the Dark Jedi Jerec! For some reasons I wouldn' like to see Vader to fight Ahsoka Tano. maybe because that's too expected by everyone. But Vader dealing with other Jedi before Obi Wan is not big news. I remember the day, Darth Vader killed Echuu Shen-Jon. =)
  10. I haven't seen a comic adaptation? But there is always a difference. take Episode IV for instance. Or Episode I, which introduced the subplot about tusken raiders. Personally it was far better without it. So the book and other materials are soon to come, covering the period between Episodes VI and VII as well. This sounds not very good. I was hoping to fill the gap with a variety of events, which I prefer more than new ones. But Ian McDiarmid is right - a good movies leaves some things unanswered and you are free to interpret it your way.
  11. I am assuming this is Leia, because in the past several months I've constantly found articles, stating, that Luke, Han and Leia will appear in Episode VII (or a glimpse of them), while C-3PO, Chewie and R2-D2 were unconfirmed. It also doesn't make sense to me. The phrase here emphasizes the importance of these three key figures in the Galaxy - Vader, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. The fourth one - is the group of the new generation, and the paraphrase of the legendary sentence on Endor - is the addressing to the new people, so that they could understand, that they are part of the legacy, which will always deal with the most dangerous, most unusual and most mysterious things in the Galaxy. @Intone He is not just sweaty, he has blood on his helmet! Isn't that disturbing? By far this is the closest detailed picture of the new stormtrooper - not a concept or blurry shot. but an actual photo. =)
  12. @DrXann Kylo Ren and Chrome Trooper are only two of the villains. Others include (rumoured): - Imperial Leader (seen in the trailer) - Unknown Bad Guy behind all the events (not seen in the movie, to be revealed in Episode VIII) - Gleeson character (not officially a villain, but joined the different side). There are also quite a lot of GOOD guys. Hand of the little alien is seen in the trailer, I want to know much about this little guy/girl. I am positive we see it in this picture: And the Cyborg Veteran old guy - another mystery and a man behind the mask.
  13. They say, that one DLC would include the battle of Jakku (5 ABY, the planet is seen in Episode VII 29 years later). And the new planet here is Sullust.
  14. @dark_apprentice It's been 30 years since Endor. So surely they made a new model of the next generation. =) Some said that wasn't Leia in the trailer. But I am sure it were her: 1) arms and hands don't look like Rey's, 2) she has a strange ring, and Kira (Rey) is unlikely to wear those, she lives in the desert after all, 3) the phrase of Luke would lose its true meaning, if for Leia they used a scene with a different character. From screenrant.com (unofficial, author - MessyPandas): But I like it.
  15. New spoiler, which I learnt not from the news about Episode VII, but related to the film nonetheless:
  16. I think the trailer doesn't reveal the fact, that Episode VII would be like a bridge, so that the essence of Star Wars would move on from older generations to newer ones. Having rewatched the trailer, I can't help but wonder, that eyes, the trailer is great, it has so much, though only the movie would reveal true facts. But when I watch it, hear this troubling music (after the word Christmas appears), troubling sounds (troopers march, explosions) and other details, I feel that the movie would have too much not from Star Wars. It's not bad, but are we ready for some sort of over-realism in Star Wars? I feel it will be in the movie. The film might prove bad, and the trailer might simply be like a candy from a box full of bitterness. Yet, there are great hopes, at least because we have talented people, including some very prominent actors, who will pull all this out.
  17. I don't think Ahsoka would appear, though her steps, including the more recent ones might be "a single letter in the longer sentence" =) The new movie follows the idea, that only the Galactic Civil War is remembered by some characters (I guess, younger ones have a scarce idea of that, while villains misinterpret the history on purpose for their ideals). So the Clone Wars is a very old conflict, which isn't remembered by most. With only a few moments popping up, like that the Republic was in crisis, there were clones and they were fighting someone, which involved the Jedi, which are all to be planed for the downfall of the old order. Why do you think that wasn't Leia? Well, according to some spoilers, this scene is between Rey (the new female lead) and the new little alien, who would be helping the heroes (together with old veteran, who remembers both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, as he survived both of them (description from rumors) and BB-8). As for the last of your edits. You are most likely right about link of Kira (Rey) to Leia, while about the name - that's still a secret. Two things reminded of KOTOR:
  18. I actually enjoyed the theory on what's going on, from one of the forums. It seems there is BLOOD in this scene (!). Also this is the beginning part of the film.
  19. @@Cerez It was said, that the story would be new. I am positive, that each 3 movies reflect the general ideas and atmosphere of the real world: Episodes IV-VI - post-WWII era, Sci-Fi of those times, Cold War Episodes I-III - 1990s- early 2000s. I guess there is no need to remind anyone, what was happening those years. Episode VII - IX - the reflection of 2010s. Believe or not I see 2000s and 2010s to be too different as well, AS different as 1950s would be with 1980s, or 1920s with 1970s. So it will be a bridge between eras. I think =)
  20. @@Cerez Well, there have been several rumors now. All I can say is that it seems, they are not changing the EU 100%. They are reshaping it. I said that once, but the closest example would be the original story of Alexander the Great. Try the one, known in the Ancient times. Then there is another version - revised during the Middle Ages, which applied its reality to the story. So Episode VII continues EU, not everything will end in the movie, we won't see Daala, Thrawn or other characters. But the movie surely has Jaina Solo, which will be known from a very different perspective. And the same applies to all others. Yavin IV academy remained a Rebel base even after the events of the OT. JO and JA show us that. One of the rumors showed an interesting theory why none of the known young new characters in Episode VII bear the names of Skywalker, Organa or Solo. I might be running ahead, but the concepts leaked, that Yavin IV would indeed be what we expected it to be in the EU era. @ Well, Falcon is most likely. Corellia doesn't give any chills to the fans. I think the right example of the same case would be Indiana Jones IV, when Indy and his companion say "This won't be as easy as it used to be" or smth like that. This phrase is a call to the fans. It's not just that Han returned home - it is an opportunity for the fans to return to what they like the most, to the roots of Star Wars. Unfortunately, this doesn't imply Tatooine either. Watched the Celebration Anaheim, they explained why. @@eezstreet It is true, that the main topic of father-son was shown from a perfect angle in the OT. I guess, the new films might continue the theme of family relations to the new areas. For instance, they might show us what it is like to be part of a complicated legacy, which divides people in opinions. We might remember Obi Wan Kenobi here, as he once said, that many things in the world depend upon one point of view or another. The man behind the mask is always a theme of Star Wars, in OT it was Vader. In the prequels it was Darth Sidious. So this will continue with Episode VII. A few months ago it was mentioned that: While the trailers showed us the girl (Rey) and the pilot (Pomeron), I think they are indeed the grandchildren of Anakin Skywalker. And yes, there is a resemblance to Padme. Taking into account, how they were choosing people for the roles of parents of Anakin and Padme, I am pretty sure this is not a coincidence. Some pictures, including variants of new Stormtroopers (!) Some people might like this: This news suggests that the time after Episode VI is quite different than in the EU. That's why:
  21. @@Cerez I sent the trailer to several people, which includes various categories of fans - of different age + whether they are fans of OT or prequels, or both. Some people say, that the trailer does indeed has a lot from the OT. I can't say I agree with them, though I also feel the intention of the authors to do so. Some of the older people say, that the new movie will never be too close to the OT, because the shown scenes are made with lots of FX and it is obvious that the film is full of "cool stuff" and what people now like in Star Wars. Especially the lightsaber dueling. While it is good to see Vader's mask, old good guys and probably the new generation of heroes (and villains), the appearance of some might indicate, that the authors do want to raise the rating of the movie to the level of glory of the OT, which is appraised by most now, more than the prequels. And somehow I feel, that J.J.Abrams and co listened to the most popular idea now, that "the prequels are bad as bad can be" and other things like that. So the new film will use Episodes IV-VI as a basis for the background legend, ignoring all other stuff for the most part. And...
  22. @DrXann I think it is somehow symbolical, that Tunisia became Tatooine, while a different location served for Jakku. The concepts showed various architecture, including colomns with blue stripes in the hangar. And you are right, that FO and Resistance replace the older familiar organizations. The snow planer hasn't been revealed yet, but in 1 interview it was said, that the planet might not be snowy at all - it's simply the mountains on this world. The ceremony itself is a clear nod towards the Triumph of the will. The uniform, the leader in the distance and the red flag itself.
  23. @GPChannel Everything in due time. We have a little break for a few days due to our main work. There will be another news post before the release of Chapter I. Currently a few things must be resolved: - Completing polishing of the maps in Chapter I, - Finishing the cutscene, which begins the Dark Pastime events - Launching Beta testing.
  24. @Intone it might be a spoiler, but it's not Tatooine. I also believe, that Han would rather say that phrase about Falcon or Corellia. But the phrase must also mean something for us, and Corellia is unlikely to bring any nostalgic memories (Rogue Squadron 3D and SWTOR don't count). I also noticed an X-Wing of older version in the trailer. And there is an unknown figure at the ceremony, when we see lots of stormtroopers, new TIEs and Imperial turrets. Checked the alien hand with Anakin's lightsaber one more time. That must the code-named Rose character.
  25. A few pictures, which @Kylo Ren might enjoy especially. I also think this spoiler reveals the status of the Rebel Alliance by the time of TFA. And we now know, what's the name of the bad guys organization (Alert!)
