@@DT85 Some time in Autumn.

This one looks so great. I feel, that some people will most likely create general Veers if not already. If he ever appears in the Rebels show, then this model could also be used for the new appearance.
-
@@eezstreet I know both of them, and yes there is difference. Though when I opened the thread for the first time, either the title or some messages suggested the discussion was about the game, not the mod. My mistake then.
-
There is actually a scene, when both Ahsoka and Kanan feel some sort of familiar presence, though for them that might be more as a glimpse of Clone Wars, a mark, that probably left a more significant impression on all of them.
-
The protocol droid version in robe reminds of C-3PO wondering Coruscant in search of Padme, in the old animated series Clone Wars.
-
I wonder, if the author of the Unreal JKO actually has an opportunity to play the locations above, move around and slash something with lightsaber before making the video itself.
-
@ But Grievous meets Ahsoka, yet he fails to kill her. And there are other situations like this.
-
@ Actually that applies to any scene. Take Indiana Jones for instance - there were dozens of cases, when the protagonist could have been killed by Nazis, Kali sect, Nazis again and Irina. =) Or Grievous? He smashed a swarm of zombies with ease, while he wasn't killing Obi Wan, and there are other scenes where he doesn't kill the other duelist. And you could say the same about many other instances. For what Othello killed Desdemona? For the plot!! Yes, it is plot convenience, even though I agree with some of your comments above. Otherwise the show would end with Season 1. KOTOR would end on Taris, The Force Unleashed somewhere on Kashyyk, Dark Forces II on Nar Shaddaa, and Episode IV in the "ass in space".
-
@@Langerd Ordinary robes and most costumes as well. When playing a Jedi I expect a simple more peasant-like brown robe that of Obi Wan Kenobi in Episode IV, but what we have is a mixture of skirts and t-shirts with some plates. Even the Sith Emperor follows this strange trend in fashion.
-
@@DrXann Which actor do you mean? I guess, Palpatine was only seen in TIE fighter games, or in some audio dramas. There is also a very good variant in Galactic battlegrounds.
-
@ Well, there is a voice from TFU - and that is the Emperor in the very end of the episode. I must say, that I can still feel that's Saw Witwer, as his tone is very specific. It can be felt with Maul and the Son in TCW too.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

@@DT85 I have the same thought. I wouldn't recognize Gleeson there. I watched Ex Machina with him recently, and this one looks nothing like him. Perhaps it's the angle. -
Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
NumberWan replied to Circa's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
Yes, there is a few blocks of news here. Lego reveals its BB-8 of bricks. Characters from the Original Trilogy revealed! Watch the gallery here Something very special here, another NEW character in this shot. Be careful. Source - http://www.starwarsunderworld.com -
Now that looked more like Star Wars. The scale of events is far larger than what we see in Season 1, and Vader actually acts and speaks the way he would. Perhaps it's of the voice, but probably the team managed to recreate the body language of the Sith Lord. I guess the next episode would involve the Clones.
-
@ The point is that Star Wars is like a good brand, and his its own visual identity. Not only it must be beautiful, it must be justified, explainable. Like a good design. A certain effort is put into such matter, and the result - is a viable and beloved product, admirable and unique. The idea is also, that one must not be delusional and follow this rule 100% turning everything into cliché and using old ideas only. It doesn't work good that way either. In case of the new DLC - they've created something... too much.
-
@@Circa Unfortunately it did. I mean the problem with SWTOR in general, that it took too much from the films. You can see Republic Troopers (=Clones), speeder bikes (=speederbike from Ep VI), various other things, which remind the OT and the prequels just too much. Unlike KOTOR: you clearly see, that Sith Soldier is a predecessor of the clones and most likely the stormtroopers, but it looks very different. As surprising as it might be, but this what makes KOTOR more realistic than SWTOR. More believable. As for the plot, then I would agree with you (if I got it right), that it's not that special, as you can "strip away the Force, and what remains?", as Kreia said.
-
@@Circa You mistook my message. I said, that the lightsabers in the trailer are the only thing, which helps identifying the DLC as Star Wars. All other things could indicate, that this is another franchise. Unlike other Star Wars games (stories) this presents a design, too different from the traditions of the Galaxy. KOTOR had its own unique charm, and the design was memorable, but yet after seeing the visual identity of that game, you could definitely say - hey, that's Star Wars.
-
@@Barricade24 As far as I recall, his model also exists in the world of Jedi Academy. Or as a skin. Personally I would like to see Elvira, mistress of the Dark as a new model for JA.

Battlefront was a nice thing to see, though I don't feel thrilled, the DLC for SWTOR was also a down step... It was beautiful and colorful, and the designs are cool. But if you remove lightsabers, it doesn't feel like Star Wars somehow. Mass Effect 4 showed as much, as one character in "Best Offer" said - "You can tell people a lot by not telling them nothing at all". So here we had very good landscapes, a "MAKO" glimpse, but that's it. I expected more. The new Hitman game is the one, which I am looking forward a lot now. I haven't tried the fifth installment yet, which has been criticized a lot, but I am positive the new part would be a pleasant surprise. Deus Ex is also something I would like to try, but most of these games will require a better machine... Perhaps worth trying.

If you add a general daylight (or night "light"), the map would be superb. Of course, it's just the beginning, but I see more hills, trees and some military structures like bunker coming to this one.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
NumberWan replied to Circa's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
@@DrXann If according to the EU sources, there was the President of the New Republic aka Chief of State. Chancellor wasn't used afar Endor. But now that we can't be sure the New Republic will be in Episode VII at all, the role of Leia here might be a leader of some Rebellion-inspired organization or state. Mon Mothma won't be in the film as well. By the time of The Force Awakens, she is most likely retired (and according to the books, she passed away). -
@@Barricade24 Try here, it's the link @@Cerez gave me.
-
It is possible, that we see the maximum of the new Battlefront in the trailer. thus TIE fighters and Star Destroyers above Hoth, unlike the movies. And the duel between Vader and Luke - perhaps, these are for other missions, which haven't been shown just yet.
-
Now this looks interesting, though not unexpected. And this

I mentioned it to @@Cerez, I think, that there was a fan-made project years ago - Tales of the New Republic. Some things remind of Rebels there. They made a trailer, but that's it. Nothing else.
