Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
NumberWan replied to Circa's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
We can now see not just white troopers, but also officers and commandos in the shot. The so-much-discussed weapon must be there somewhere. Video available here as well - https://youtu.be/M-VTdsCKLgg -
Sebastian Shaw reminds me greatly of Jean Marais here, and his two roles of the mysterious Fantômas and the journalist Fandor. I think, it's not a coincidence. Even though the two characters are separate people, played by one actor, they fit into the definition of alter-ego precisely. Perhaps Shaw could reprise the two perfectly.

The grey thing to the right - is it part of decoration or a container? These days it's sometimes difficult to see difference between movies and reality.

Knights of the old republic HD. Is it possible?
NumberWan replied to Bek's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
The latest news at SWU and tuskenium suggest, that KOTOR would indeed get an HD remake in 2016. It's just a rumor however, but an interesting one... -
I really enjoyed the reviews from staff. It was fun, often comprehensive and people also gave their opinion on the model/mod/map/skin from the point of a player, a designer and a Star Wars fan. Some were really curious to read, and even more interesting to be found much later, like 5+ years later. For instance when Episode I and II models were coming, the comments were a bit different. Later on when reading them, you understand, that the reviewers might have said something else, now that Episode III was out, with The Force Unleashed and other projects released as well. For me JK3files remain part of JO/JA certain life period. It's like watching the movies from 1980s, which can still be great.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

@ Actually they have already been two more characters with Oriental appearance. Sei Taria was the aide of Chancellor Valorum in Episode I (she was removed from office later and replaced with the exotic Sly Moore) Bana Breemu is the second character, a senator from Episode III, but the scene with her was deleted. KOTOR2 introduced Serocco, a planet represented by the clan on Nar Shaddaa. TCW series also showed Carlac, another location with Oriental motives. -
When I tell people, that fans have already made quite a lot of models even before Episode VII release for a game of Star Wars released about 10+ years, well, you can imagine the reaction. Hilarious. ))) I am glad, that these new models of mid 2010s is the next step in flourishing of the Jedi Academy modding community.

There are dozens if not hundreds of games, which show, that Star Wars also could be very-very good. It was when I played GTA San Andreas, I couldn't understand, why Star Wars couldn't create something as large and deep, regarding revisiting familiar places and seeing known faces. KOTOR is an example, when a bright and good idea came to a mind, because the people who know how to make games, worked on Star Wars and made a decent and high-quality product, which is acclaimed by many as the best SW game released in 15 years. Many other couldn't surpass this, and after 2010 I can't name any game at all. With all said above, I am sure, that the Jedi Academy would still be an important part of the SW community, because even if they make a cool game with movements, dozens of characters, new planets, etc. It won't be modded-friendly. This trait of the old games, gives an additional weight to old games like Jedi Academy.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

A new character is revealed - Major Ematt, who is a big friend of Leia since before Battle of Yavin IV. He is part of the resistance, and there is a concept leaked at SWU: He is wearing this brown uniform Surprisingly he reminds me of Kyle Katarn a lot. I wonder what is his role, but surely he isn't an Imperial deserter, who turned into Rebel agent and later a Jedi Knight. There is also a photo of Ken Leung's character in Episode VII. I remember him as one of the protagonists in later seasons of Lost series, and now he is in Star Wars. Aside of Jakku, there is another location revealed at SWU - Takodana. What planets is that? Perhaps, where Maz Kanata lives. -
@@lang_french Thanks for kind words. We actually have English and Russian versions (subtitles, though English voicing is possible as well). German is in plans, but we haven't talked to anyone who knows French yet. So I guess we can discuss that soon (the mod will be released in Chapters, the first being almost complete: 6 of 7 maps are 100% finished in it).
-
@@lang_french The mod is in progress, but Dantooine is almost complete, though it's not the first mission. In the last several months I've recreated most of the textures for Dantooine and other planets (either by making futuristic ones or taking photos of stones and organic matter). You can check updates here on the forums or the DP's page on moddb here. @ The mod will be released in Chapters. Currently I am working on the last map for he Chapter – the forest. It is quite large and complicated in terms of design for Jedi Academy, given, that the forest must be really green, with lots of trees, bushes, grass, as well as beasts and cool sounds here and there.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

The latest rumors, posted at the force.net explain some shots from the trailer. Including the shot with R2 and Luke. Some screens of the new Lego mini figures from TFA: Not sure, if these are official, but include stye new snow troopers and flame troopers, as well as Rey, First Order navy trooper (seen briefly in the trailer) and an unknown character in a hood and with mask. -
I thought it was a question more about shaders. I mean, you make a texture, right a shader with an effect to be applied on it. Fire flames for instance. I've never tried this, but theoretically it could work...

A nice addition. JA would only benefit, if there are not only different species, but also different sex of aliens species. So far we have a few Rodian females, notably from different sources. One is seen in Episode VI Return of the Jedi, a member of Max Rebo Band, known as Greeata Jendowanian: I can't forget to mention Lolo Purs from the Clone Wars, a senator from Rodia. A female Rodian trader can also be found on Nar Shaddaa in KOTOR II, but she looks more like other Rodians in game.

Is a new Jedi Knight reboot possible?
NumberWan replied to BruceJohnJenner's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
@@Mizore Well, I don't want to sound too optimistic or else, but the Kinect Star Wars (as much as I don't like it) centers around a group of young Jedi, who go through training and even take a lesson on Kashyyk together with master Yoda. From a certain point of view that is Jedi Academy game set during the Clone Wars. @ 1313 could boast with things like that, though it was not about a Jedi. Some of the concept art suggest having missions with dozens of NPCs wondering through the street while you chase your goal (almost like in Hitman 4-5), or stealth missions. Visiting an apartment inside the Coruscanti skyscraper - everything could be done. Though they haven't just yet. Instead we get Uprising. -
KOTOR 2 released for Mac/Linux/PC
NumberWan replied to Circa's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
Some people said that KOTOR 2 re-release/patching might indicate, that we might expect KOTOR 3 to be released some time later. Though it won't be necessary called Knights of the Old Republic. -

============================= Kadas'sa'Nikto Model for JA ============================= Pk3 Name: "Nikto.pk3" Authors: HeadModel by OlgO Skins and Textures by Number Wan Sounds by Barricade24 Team Skins: Yes New Shaders: No New Sounds: Yes Bot Support: Yes NPC Support: Yes Tools used: GMax, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Gimp, Modview, Jedi Knight II / Jedi Academy ==================================================================================================================== Nikto A Kadas'sa'Nikto, simply referred as Nikto, were a humanoid species from the planet of Kintan, which were also known on many worlds in the Galaxy. These reptillian humanoids had a variety of subspecies, which differed in their appearance, due to radiation on their homeworld. Because of the historical events in the past many Nikto associate themselves with the Hutts, and serve the clans from Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa as bodyguards and agents. This also explains, why Nikto are quite fluent in the Huttese language. There were several notable Nikto, representing different subspecies of the race, including the Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di, who lived during the Clone Wars. Revan met a lot of Nikto during his quest for the Star Forge, when he was visiting Taris: there the Lower City streets were occupied by a swoop gang of Nikto, named the Black Vulkars. Some 300 years later Nikto had their own district on Nar Shaddaa, revisited by the eight heroes of the Great Galactic war period. ==================================================================================================================== Notes from Authors: This is a second model, that we made as a team, devoted to the Jedi Academy. But surely not the last. The people asked us about this and other species, and as we are planning to release Chapter I of the SP modification, The Dark Pastime, and we thought, that a small pre-release would be a nice addition to the models collection before that. The Nikto model, particularly the head and helmet were made by OlgO, while NumberWan worked on the textures and the concept of the alien. It is important to note, that the body is that of the original Human Merc from JA, so that the new mercenary looked as part of the team of thugs in the game. Barricade24 was more than kind to provide a voice for the alien, and we would like to thank him for his work as well. Also we appreciate the help of Omicron for providing the link to the icons basis and thanks to Ruxith for providing them to the JK community. The model includes the default skin, as well as the team ones (Red and Blue), but no bot files. With the release of the mod more variants of the Nikto will be available, as in the mod the Nikto bounty hunter is present more than once. If you want to spawn an NPC in JA SP, simply use the console (Shift + ~) and print "NPC spawn nikto". ==================================================================================================================== DISTRIBUTION NOTES: This model, it's geometry, and textures are not to be modified, repackaged, or redistributed without the express permision of it's creators, Number Wan (darkpastime@yandex.ru) or OlgO. If allowed, the readme.txt file MUST be included. You can contact Number Wan or OlgO at jkhub.com, jediknight.ru or moddb.com. ==================================================================================================================== INSTALLATION: Place this pk3 file from this zip archive into the Jedi Academy/gamedata/base/ directory * Copyright / Permissions * This model, and the textures that came with it are not to be modified in any way without the permision of it's creators. ##################################################################################################################### © 2002 LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC. © 2002 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM or ® as indicated. Star Wars Episode VII Discussion
NumberWan replied to Circa's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
There are a few early concept art leaked in the web, though I believe the already seen ones to be much more interesting. However there is a photo of one new Rebel/Resistance pilot on orange suit: While we are waiting for Episode VII, things are moving slowly for Episode VIII. -
Knights of the old republic HD. Is it possible?
NumberWan replied to Bek's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
@@Bek I am not sure the mod Circa mentioned is the one I also saw on moddb. As far as I remember, people managed to change the character models in KOTOR, specifically I remember the Republic soldier. I recall that nicely, because the developers used a different concept for the trooper and fans were a little puzzled by seeing what they've recreated. Instead of the classic soldier (screenshot from KOTOR) they made a new one (concept art post-KOTOR) look here for a larger picture KOTOR 1 somehow has little to boast about on moddb, but there is this mod improving the sound in cutscenes. There is a different mod, which was released many years ago with new textures, but for the most part, a lot of things still incomplete. -
Just read this article about Mon Mothma creation for Episode VI. I hope they make more of these about background characters. http://www.starwars.com/news/from-concept-to-screen-mon-mothma-rebel-leader

Is a new Jedi Knight reboot possible?
NumberWan replied to BruceJohnJenner's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
I don't know, whether G.Lucas did approve all the stories the way we expect him to do that, but he was at least aware of what was going on, saw the concepts. More important, most of the pre-2000 stories were created, taking into account the traditions, some of which had been established by Lucas himself. The Dark Jedi Jerec is speaking, moving and actually looks like as if he were in the Original trilogy. Kyle Katarn himself, though has a simple costume, was inspired by the classic characters of the Rebel Alliance.
