@@CaptainCrazy I'd wager based on this that his general idea, is to build models, but have them rendered out into 2D sprites. (animations included)

To what color? if you can provide an RGB or Hex value for it that would be great.

Ahem.... I did this real quick. If you want something a little more perfected I do freelance marketing. The downloadable version below is a full-size PNG with transparency the Imgur link I embedded above is low resolution. Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y8rfnplq08l3lbi/PulsisLogo.png

502 Bad Gateway response errors...
CrimsonStrife replied to Archangel35757's topic in JKHub Feedback & Help
As someone who more-or-less works for AT&T (They are one of our clients, we handle some of their drafting), I can confirm almost everything they do is bad. Hell even their internal systems are shit. They force us by contract to use IE8 when working on their projects, and they also seem to think that the most effective way for our company's multiple offices to connect to their servers, is to have us connect THROUGH our office on the other side of the fucking country and run everything on a single connection. If this sounds confusing and terrible, it's because it is. It's the worst. -
Yep, I did this recently for an indie film, needed a blood splatter to be coming from a torso, but it was a side shot and the actors arm passed in the way, so I created a mask that allowed the arm to overlay.

Well I did study marketing and branding at one point. I could do a better version with some variations and a PV logo over the weekend maybe.

[Suggestion] New Simplicity Tool
CrimsonStrife replied to Lamented's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
This, any change to the way the file remembers the verts will make the weighting all wonky. So in reality, you would only force more work upon yourself trying to edit a mesh. He isn't being an elitist. If anything, you're just misunderstanding him. What he is trying to explain, is that what your wanting, this ability to edit meshes on the fly, and be able to pop them back in game. Isn't possible, not due to a lack of technology even...because there are some modern day pipelines for modern day game engines, that can handle the live editing of assets...but because the data structures and formats we are dealing with here, are too old to have that kind of flexibility. You don't really even need to learn to "model", try getting by on "Frankenstein-ing" existing models from the game together, you'll still have to learn the way to rig a skeleton, and how to use one of these software packages, but that's the only way you can expect to do this. Quite literally this: Is what we are trying to tell you isn't possible, at least not in any simple (or cheap) fashion. All that Noesis software is doing, is decoding one software format, and encoding it into another, but to add in a editing process, you would essentially HAVE to develop a basic package similar to what Max, Maya, and the like have. Because once you change the mesh, it's weights are fairly useless. It's no longer going to animate how it should, and you'd have to not only understand what that means and how to fix it, but have a "simple" to use software that can allow the user to fix it. Could the software be developed? Yes, but it would take a long-long time, especially with little to no financial backing. BUT you would STILL have to be able to fix issues cause in weights and the like. So despite the software package, you still need a basic understanding of the principles behind the process. These changes would still mandate you to fix weights. If you move a vert even a millimeter in a direction, it's data will change. -
Thats pretty much exactly what I do.

or you're like me and more or less extrude poly by poly, and sculpt in details later. But then again, I am a masochist.

I feel like this was shared here at some point. I know I've seen it before.
-
it could just be the way you worded that, but are you actually CONVERTING the MP3 to WAV? or are you renaming the file. I'm going to assume you're converting it, in which case, if I recall the audio files have a specific compression on them that has to match. I can't recall what it is though.

Binary Sunset (cover work in progress)
CrimsonStrife replied to CaptainCrazy's topic in Art, Media & Technology
This kinda, I could hear the tune, but I was also using high-def headphones so that may have helped me...It seems like there is a lot of echo or reverb? (Not a musician, don't know all the terms) and it kinda seems like the tune gets drowned out at times. -
@@AshuraDX sent a message to the Quixel team, as the site seems to indicate there might be a 32-bit version. We will keep you guys in the loop. But for now, just use the Legacy version.
-
Aren't you glad I tipped you off to this Everyone should be aware that so far some people are having issues with the beta suite installing, as it seems to fail to extract the .exes I personally had it install properly on one machine and not on another. [update: Upon comparing notes, @@AshuraDX and I deduced that the suite appears to be 64-bit only, and thus the install issues for some machines. Legacy versions support 32-bit however.]

We've already jumped all over the argument. The fact most of us are trying to present, is that they don't deserve any real credit for doing this, as it is just a bunch of copypasta work. It's not that "it is a problem", it is that a lot of us see the point. They aren't learning anything, and they'll simply earn praise from people for something that isn't really their own work, regardless of what they claim. It would only become a problem if they started trying to profit from it. And it is "theft", they don't have permission to use the assets, be they KOTOR or JK, so they are taking them without the knowledge or permission of the license holders. Nope, another argument we've been over before. They could make A game, sure...but not a Star Wars game. Custom assets or not, the Star Wars IP is copyrighted. And therefore, technically free or no, any project using it can be shutdown by the copyright holders. And this would still fall into that ballpark, technically they have no rights to the Star Wars IP, so this would be an unsanctioned project, and would technically be violating copyright laws. In modding we get away with it, because we are adding content to something already licensed with the IP, and we have the blessing of the company for that. The simple fact that they have ported content, regardless of intended use, is in violation of the games EULA. So game or no, we really have every reason to dislike what they are doing.

It is a pretty low-res version, but go for it. I did that in like 5 minutes? You'ed probably want a sharper one for any kind of branding use.
-
I did a thing....
-
My point is, if you're going to steal your assets, at least do a good job of it. It is one thing to have put in your own blood, sweat, and tears into something, and have it turn out sub-par or even terrible. Because at that point, you deserve respect because, at least you made an attempt, and presumably did your best. But when you basically steal and re-hash all of the work from other sources, and still manage to make a sub-par product, then you really don't deserve any level of respect or admiration, because you didn't actually do or accomplish anything on your own.
-
I'd be willing to bet money that they didn't even do that. More likely they just have copies of the character models rigged to KOTOR skeletons for when they want to use those. Just....so....bad.....please make it stop....
-
The obvious reason being that they don't know how? OR are quite shit at it. I say this because anyone with any decent animation experience would blend their animation sequences better, and would understand secondary motion better. Also, that slide from the force push at 0:07, made me die inside.

Use the shape of that for the "V" in "Vitae"

Star Wars (John Williams Is The Man)
CrimsonStrife replied to CaptainCrazy's topic in Art, Media & Technology
This is actually a cover of an acapella group called Moosebutter. -
Technically speaking, it has a "skin", otherwise it wouldn't be visible. Just instead of assigning finished textures, the blank UVMap files were applied.
-
No they aren't? They might as well be though, considering most of the time you can get the package by paying like $1, so if you're broke, or just feeling particularly cheap, then you can still get stuff...but they often have additional items you have to meet the average amount to get.
