  1. There are two kinds of canon: Canon and Legends. And the stuff beyond Legends which was not even canon then. I don't know why this warrants a whole thread, other than to serve as a soapbox for why you hate Disney. Enough of it already.
  2. Ah, okay. I have made a request to the maintainers for them to add this.
  3. Thread moved to Jedi Academy WIP and Teasers
  4. Uhh, where did you get vcredist_x86 from?
  5. It seems like you installed OpenJK correctly, but aren't running it the right way. You don't just plop it into the Gamedata folder and run the shortcut from gog.com, you need to actually run the OpenJK binaries instead of the jamp.exe/jasp.exe.
  6. So apparently I made a huge mistake and merged a branch ('jk2hd') incorrectly with what was supposed to be the branch for JK2:E ('JKEnhanced'). I didn't notice this until I decided to look back over the code. The correct code should be located on an external hard drive that I've got in my closet. Also that external hard drive should have the asset files for the project. However there is one problem - the hard drive fell and suffered some damage (not recently - that's why it's in the closet!). It won't be read by any machine because it has some hardware issues that I'm not currently sure of. The good news is that I sent the hard drive to a reasonably reliable source to get it repaired, so I should know more soon. I will keep you all posted. tl;dr - hard drive with code and assets for JK2 version of this mod died
  7. The projects that are generated for it should be totally optional, probably under a "BuildTools" setting.
  8. Why would people lose interest simply because they have to use SHIFT+ESC to open the console? This is silly. But yes, it's probably a good thing to change it.
  9. Episodes 7-9 are canon. KOTOR and much of the EU is still not. There's no "talk" that needs to happen here.
  10. Sorry, the App Store version of the game is basically completely broken, I would just ask for a refund if I were you. Alternatively you could maybe try OpenJK, since you have the assets.

    What is this?

https://github.com/JACoders/OpenJK/tree/master/tools/WinSymbol https://github.com/JACoders/OpenJK/tree/master/tests Literally not even related to OpenJK or used (?)
  12. Or er, to be more clear, there are two versions of this mod: Jedi Academy Enhanced (which is maintained by redsaurus) and there is Jedi Knight 2 Enhanced (which is maintained by myself). The Jedi Academy version currently has a release out; the Jedi Outcast version does not. I hope to amend this soon but I need mappers to finish The Lost Mission (cairn_stockpile) before I am content with releasing what I've got. They can be shortened down to JK2:E/JKA:E or just JKE which refers to the project in general.
  13. Split from "Bug/Continuity Error Rundown" Didn't @@therfiles make CamSP? Or am I thinking of someone else?
  14. Split 5 posts into "CamSP doesn't work with JKA:E"
  15. @@Ramikad is right. Price refers to how much you need to spend to purchase an item, and Value is how much you receive if you sell your item to the vendor. You can sell items to vendors for half of their original cost.
  16. The shop menu is in need of a facelift. Here's the current concept for the new shop, which has some new features. First, you will be able to see both your inventory and the shopkeeper's inventory at the same time, without switching to another menu. Second, you can repurchase items that you or other players have sold to vendors. It might be wise to search the buyback before purchasing an item at the shop, because it might be cheaper. By clicking the Buyback button, you can switch between Buyback and regular shop. Third, you can sort prices by both the name of the item and the cost of the item. Lastly, you can examine both items in your inventory and in the shop, which will bring up a nice little menu with more information about the item.
  17. Hmm, the more I look at it, the more it seems there's a double meaning to this phrase: "you own or have the necessary rights and permissions, without the need for payment to any other person or entity, to use and exploit" In way one of thinking, it requires that you own/have the rights and you don't need to pay anyone for those rights. But if you look at the phrase as a whole, it's saying that you are giving people the ability to get that content without payment. I'm not sure. But if that were the case, this would be talking about a Disney service, which would have its own license and agreement. Submitting stuff outside of those Disney services is not at all mentioned in this license, so who knows (?)
  18. Not sure if anyone noticed, but the Steam version of the game has a new EULA. If you've installed the game prior to the Disney buyout then you have not agreed to this new license by default, since the original EULA does not include a clause for amendments by other entities. Also not sure if this applies to the CD version, my guess is not. Notably, there is a section on "User-Generated Content" which is interesting: There's several key takeaways from this section which differ from the original game's EULA, of which I have bolded: User-Generated Content can't be "defamatory, harassing, threatening, bigoted, hateful, violent, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise offensive." Of course, this has some room for interpretation - couldn't you argue that all mods for a game such as this are violent?Activision's original EULA mentioned that they retain all rights to any "new levels" that you create to Jedi Academy/Jedi Outcast, but this license is a bit more specific - they say they can promote the content or make derivative works, which I think is interesting. The "otherwise exploit" part is a bit scary though, I definitely wouldn't have worded it like that.By making your User-Generated Content, it has to be of stuff that you actually own (with a very large exception). Also it says that you can't charge other people for User-Generated Content or for people to help you make User-Generated Content. And lastly, there's this clause here, which basically states that you're allowed to port between any Disney Interactive games. It also says that you can create a derivative game from any Disney Interactive game, but that game is also considered a User-Generated Content. The only problem that I have with this license is basically the exact same issue as the Activision one - what qualifies as a User-Generated Content? How is it defined? That's what I want to know.
  19. Go get it. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/66986/
  20. Dunno, I think it's more of a problem with CamSP than of JK:Enhanced. There's nothing that I can think of that would interfere.
  21. Yes, we're a bit late, and yes, it's a bit of a personal one. But summer (or Winter if you're from Australia...) is right around the corner! It'd be wise to work on those projects you've got in your closet...
