  1. I seem to have figured out the problem. If you launch singleplayer, and open any of the menus or click any of the buttons (even just hovering over them) the audio cuts off. Easiest way to reproduce is to just hit tab to look at mission objectives in SP. It's not a problem of audio quality, quality is fine, it's the menus that are somehow breaking up the audio. Weirdest thing is in multiplayer the problem doesn't exist, so if you only play MP you won't experience what I'm talking about. Another MP bug that I found is in a bot game if you disable force and weapons they still spawn with force and weapons... while in retail jamp.exe it works as it should.
  2. Hey man, thanks for that! Maybe label it somehow, it seems kinda non-obvious? I have more feedback. could the text in the light theme have just a little more contrast? Now the text is grey on white, which is a little hard to see and not ideal. On the dark theme it's fine, White on black text as it should be. On a light theme it should be black text on white background. I'm also wondering is this site optimized for Mozilla browsers? On Firefox sometimes it seems awfully slow. Both desktop and mobile. It's very inconsistent, right now it's fast but next time it could take forever to load. I tested briefly on Edge and there it was OK.
  3. If you recall EAX is disabled by default even on retail Jedi Academy. At least on my copies it's never on by default. No, EAX isn't enabled. On x64 it's greyed out, i.e. not even an option. Likewise using EAX downgrades audio to 22Khz, and I want to use 44Khz. If you don't have broken SFX, are you on Windows 10 or 11? I'm also trying to get to the bottom of this in GitHub, it' proving to be quite a challenge...
  4. Specs: Dell OptiPlex 3060 Micro form factor Intel Core i5-8500T CPU @ 2.10GHz 6 cores, 6 threads, ~2.1GHz RAM: 32GB in dual channel GPU: Intel UHD 630 Sound by Intel (monitor) and Realtek (motherboard).
  5. Since when did this website become dark with no option for a light theme? All other sites and forums I'm on there's a light theme. I liked the old theme of JKHub, having that as an option would be great! Also, everything's rounded, I hate that trend too... please, stop with that nonsense! Will ya???
  6. Does anyone else have sound that lags on Windows 11? I just installed openJK and the sound in the main menu is just very bad, there's a major delay, and sometimes the audio cuts completely, like the sound effects are incomplete. Sometimes they don't play at all. I posted this on https://github.com/JACoders/OpenJK/issues/798 so if relevant parties want to comment there, feel free! Like I said on GitHub, I did not bother going any further because first impressions and all that, I'm going to assume the game is broken!
  7. First time checking this site in a long time. So, guys, does anyone know what happened to the deadlystream website? http://deadlystream.com. It shows a white page with some kind of privacy policy text. I'm guessing the domain expired? But that can't be, why they let the site die? And if it exists, does anyone know the current location of deadlystream modding site? I'd really like to know. Archive.org shows latest snapshot sometime in late december.Thank you, and happy new year to...

It probably was down for maintenance or had to renew the domain. It's okay now, thank god.

  8. Hmm, is master server down again? I got no response when I refreshed today. Anyone know anything?

  9. Umm, I only see some strange cvar vlaues, like 0xe60 or something close to that. How would I use the command to map the console back to shift+tilde?
  10. I have a Finnish keyboard. Hmm, that does make sense, I'll try that. Edit: Yeah, it worked, awesome. Is there a way to change it back to shift+tilde? I find it more convenient that way.
  11. Hey all. So today I installed jka on linux (Linux mint 17.3) with playonlinux and had it configure the game with Wine version 1.9.3. Everything appeared to run smooth, I tried singleplayer and it ran fine. I did not actually install the linux version of openjk, I installed the Windows version, extracted it to the playonlinux virtual Windows drive just like you would do on Windows. Launching the game vanilla made it lock up, but it worked with openjk. But when I tried multiplayer the console wouldn't open in the main menu (I didn't try the console in singleplayer. I also re-bought the game from GOG.com because the game wouldn't install from my disks. Can anyone help me? Really wanna get this game on linux. Thanks in advance.
  12. Hello everyone. Is anyone else having problems logging in to jkhub.org? I'm posting this from Internet Explorer 9 (since I'm on Vista) but on my other browser which is Pale Moon (it should be compatible with everything that firefox is) I'm getting a "Connection was reset" error. Can anyone please help me with this? It's annoying..

Thank you so much, that was quick! Oh, and one more problem, do you also host eff-clan.org? I'm having the same problem there, unable to log in.

  13. Hello everyone, what's up? I'm wondering, how well does JKA run under Linux? How well does it run under Wine (or playonlinux)? And does openjk have native Linux support? Thought about making a thread but this is a better place to ask.

Have no clue about Linux, but yes, OpenJK has Linux builds. You can find the latest ones at builds.openjk.org

  14. This is what I do, and why everyone else who are annoyed at trolls and unfriendly people should also do. Don't feed the trolls, please. I've been using this more often now, it is is such a helpful command when you don't want to deal with trolls and the like, or when someone starts spamming useless binds. It cleans up some of the mess in the chat.
  15. Aren't all aliens like that in KotOR? Their voices kind of looping over and over?
