  1. I discovered this program awhile back that works pretty well. You can even capture your desktop with it if you wanted to, although you have to change a few settings first. https://obsproject.com/
  2. 566 downloads

This FFA map is based on the t2_dpred mission from the singleplayer campaign. This is my second released map for Jedi Academy and was built for a contest sponsored by www.ockproductions.com To install, place the pk3 file into your base directory and launch the map from the multiplayer menu.
  3. 380 downloads

An urban office building set in rainy weather. Built for Map-Review's "Theme Fusion" contest. Place the pk3 file in your base folder and run the map from the multiplayer menu.
  4. It seems that the JKA community in general has always ended up getting into arguments and flame wars over the smallest things. Unfortunately, that's what has driven away a lot of the old modders. I think it's safe to say that most of the more serious modders here are married and just starting families and they're part of this community working with a hobby that they enjoy. They don't come here looking to start arguments or participate in them. I think respect is something that is earned within the community. Sure, when you make your first reskin or open up gtkRadiant and create a hollowed out box, you feel pretty good about it and immediately want to go post your latest creation online to get feedback on it. There will probably be that person that likes it or says it looks great. Then the next guy might come along and says, "What is THAT? It's the worst garbage I've ever seen!" Granted, I haven't actually seen anything quite THAT drastic on the forums here. The difference, I believe, between flat out unhelpful criticism and constructive criticism is the guy that might be that harsh on you, but then offers feedback on what you could CHANGE to make it look better. We all have different ways of expressing criticism, whether it be constructive or not. What's probably set most people off though is attempting to explain what it is to them. That generally doesn't work out well for anyone. At this point, it probably would be good if someone closed the thread before it gets completely out of control.
  5. If no one can find the original 'Hapslash Improved Imperial Officer' models, there are several reskins of it all done by one author on Filefront. Mostly having to do with the ranking of the officers. http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Original_Trilogy_1_Navy_Imperials;71598
  6. Instead of saving and importing your map open two copies of Radiant, one with the larger map and the other with your space map. Draw a brush over your entire space map, select inside, then Edit > Copy or Ctrl + C. Next, go to the other instance of Radiant that you have open with your larger map and Edit > Paste or Ctrl + V. It will paste to the same location in Radiant where it was created, so before you deselect everything zoom out and drag the entire map to where you want it positioned.
  7. No kidding. I was afraid I was going to have nightmares.
  8. Ah, I gotcha. You're not going to include 16x MSAA?
  9. By saying depending on GFX cards you mean ATI vs nVidia? I'll assume nVidia cards also probably have better support for it than ATI?
  10. Looks like it's working properly for me. Testing out r_we lightrain on a map that I'm working on.
  11. Yeah, use the original ones as a reference while you're building the map if you need to. Some of the textures are so bad though that you could probably easily get away with using completely different ones instead of remaking the originals.
  12. Hello, It sounds like this mod will effect Single Player and change some of the gameplay elements and give a wider variety of skins to choose from for the player. Did you create the female face model that you're showcasing? I'm a bit confused though when you state that you "purchased a pack of models from MovieBattles" you shouldn't have been charged for a pack of models made by the community. I noticed that you mentioned here, and on your Facebook page, that you're using models from the KotOR pack. I would strongly recommend that you remove those as ported models are generally frowned upon. I highly doubt that your mod would even be hosted here on JKHub if you decide to go ahead and include them in your mod. My advice would be to remove them, they are all poorly put together anyway.
  13. Even if it were to be movie-realistic, considering Jedi Academy takes place in the EU officially everything would be non-canon anyway. Whatever happened to the term blaster? I've never been particularly fond of the blasters and heavy weapons in Jedi Outcast/Academy. In Jedi Outcast it felt like it made more sense story-wise because Kyle was working as a mercenary at the time. All of the Nar Shaddaa levels made good use of the disruptor rifle for dealing with enemies across large distances. Most of the time though it doesn't make sense to use any other weapons due to the enemies you're fighting, with the occasional use of a heavy weapon. They just don't feel right to me, although maybe that's just me. Perhaps it's something that carried over from the original Quake and needs to be changed? I don't know.
  14. Rumors that Star Wars: Episode VII's working title is 'The Ancient Fear'.

    1. Flynn

  15. I completely forgot about Jedi Knight: Enhanced for DF2. It's not a dead mod, it was released back in 2007 on Massassi.net http://massassi.net/levels/files/3087.shtml
  16. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. I think it has the best story, visual effects, and music out of the original trilogy.
  17. This just in - SW: EPVII Cast Revealed - http://www.imdb.com/news/ni57137049/?ref_=hm_nw_tp_t1

I hope they don't add the sith as an enemy again. Balance was brought to the force, that should be over by now xD.

  18. @@DT85 really sorry to hear that. I had thought there were more people working on it, but apparently that isn't the case.
  19. You could also check out Skeleton (http://www.getskeleton.com/) it's a good template that uses media queries. Maybe there are still some people that create separate mobile versions of their site, but it makes more sense like Sentra said to grab a responsive template that adjusts accordingly to whatever screen size you're viewing the website on.
  20. Any thread in particular? That link just directs to the Jedi Knight Series sub-forum.
  21. There was a WIP map of the Korriban spaceport from Knights of the Old Republic on PCGameMods for Jedi Academy. I believe it was called "KotOR Dreshdae Spaceport", if anyone still has it.
  22. Fantastic architectural work! Then again, your maps have always had great designs to them. In your latest post Szico, the first two photos you posted are using rend2 and the last are the base game? In the 2nd from the top photo, on the shot with the pillars, is the water shader still in development? Besides the reflection/effect next to the candles it's rather hard to even tell that there is water across the floor. Also, on the right column, the middle cutout looks like it's a lot darker than the rest of the cutouts around the column. It's also apparent on the very base of the pillar, where on the left side it looks like a dark shadow and then to the right of that it immediately cuts off and goes back to the regular texture.
  23. That looks like the opening sequence from Bioshock: Infinite. Did he recreate that in GTKRadiant to show off REND2, or is that using something else?
  24. Why did you remove all other weapon types from being dropped? If I remember correctly, most enemies dropped whatever weapon type that they were using.
  25. I didn't even know you had a portfolio.
