Psyk0Sith Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Erh no, I was answering Bek's question. It just means that the model will have more polygons than the average JA model.

Psyk0Sith Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 Here's a test for the normal mapped version...the actual JA version won't look like that. JAWSFreelao, dark_apprentice, Archangel35757 and 12 others like this
Darth_Bothersome Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Do you think you could maybe make a static version that's posed intimidatingly and standing on a flat base of some sort? I run an Edge of the Empire campaign in Tabletop Simulator, and one of my players' character is an old EG-3A droid. Having that as his token would be really cool.If that's not too much trouble, of course. Langerd likes this
Psyk0Sith Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 You mean just a screengrab like i did above?
Darth_Bothersome Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 No, like a miniature for an RPG. We've got flat images right now, but an actual 3D game piece would be kick@ss.
Archangel35757 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Great work! I bet the normal mapped version looks great in Rend2. How do the vertex normals look in MODView using the v1.9 exporter?
Psyk0Sith Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 No, like a miniature for an RPG. We've got flat images right now, but an actual 3D game piece would be kick@ss. Oh so you want to get it 3D printed? I suppose that would be possible, it's pretty low poly for that and probably wouldn't cost as much as the high poly stuff. @@Archangel35757 I don't have rend2! I'm still stuck in the "manual" texturing stage for JA. Then i'll destroy the tri count and start rigging...if i have enough patience.

I suppose that would be possible, it's pretty low poly for that and probably wouldn't cost as much as the high poly stuff. No, we use Tabletop Simulator. It's a game made in Unity that allows you to use 3D models as game pieces. So like, one step before 3D printing. It looks something like this.
Psyk0Sith Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 I see, just need to know the tri count needed and how texture maps are handled (multiple maps, size restriction etc.) Bek likes this
Metatronicks Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Waaaaaaaoooooouuuuuuh ! I am so excited It is SO beautiful... Very very very good job Psyk0Sith And very very very thank you I am so impatient it is finish...
Darth_Bothersome Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 I see, just need to know the tri count needed and how texture maps are handled (multiple maps, size restriction etc.)There's no restrictions on any of that, actually. You can have two texture images for the diffuse and the normal/bumpmaps, and it's recommended but not required that the model as a .OBJ is less than 500 KB. Tabletop Simulator is weird in that all files used in the game have to be hosted online, and it only takes models as raw text data, so they recommend opening .OBJ files in notepad and putting the contents up on pastebin, and uploading texture files to image hosting services such as Imgur. You can watch part of a tutorial on uploading made by the devs (for a slightly older version of the game) here.
Psyk0Sith Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Texture update for the Jedi Academy version. Went with the organge paint job. Need to work on the head and scratch that beautiful factory paint. Archangel35757, Darth Sion, Barricade24 and 9 others like this
Archangel35757 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I preferred the darker red muted metal color... this orange color looks too luminescent. The model looks marvelous.
Metatronicks Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 It is so GOOOOOODDDD !Your model is DIVINE !The color is perfect, contrary to that was said Archangel That's the REAL original EG-5 from The Clone Wars : Lightsaber's Duels ! Very very very good job
Daedra Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I preferred the darker red muted metal color... this orange color looks too luminescent. The model looks marvelous. I bet someone will re-skin it and do it justice.
Langerd Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I preferred the darker red muted metal color... this orange color looks too luminescent. The model looks marvelous.Yep the model is Masterpiece 83 Both versions! But this red is too saturated. Are You going to add the cape too? Darth Sion likes this
Psyk0Sith Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 I never said it was the only color, right? There's red, orange and metal (probably others but i haven't played that game) Cape might be added later, not working on that right now. Langerd likes this

Daedra Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Implying that this model alone won't? Not at all. The model is fine. But if people have an issue with the textures (from which I was referring to) then the textures can always be edited to suit the individuals wants/needs. I myself think the model and the textures are perfectly fine, it was not me with any issue. Omicron likes this
Psyk0Sith Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I don't have anything against the orange color except it seems a little too saturated/luminescent. Keep up the great work! There's no specular or reflections applied, maybe it'll need less, maybe it'll need more, can't know without having real time shader.
DrXann Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I think you got the color right. All the droid needs is a cape for an alternate skin along with the main one.
