  1. You can make MD3 (and I think other formats like ASE) as misc_model which get turned into BSP map brushwork when you compile the level. They can use diffuse, normalmap (most likely parallax as well, but I haven't tested it on misc_models) & specular. So you could do the basic shape (walls, floors, ceilings) of your map in radiant, and leave details to misc_model. @@Boothand Did you add LODs to those pine tree's?
  2. Best program to use for 3d format conversion is Noesis, Milkshape is crap.
  3. Suuuuuuuuuure. We know what kind of references you have now.
  4. If you like a start menu, pick Windows 7. Windows 8's interface is geared more towards tablets & touch screen PCs.
  5. The (final) option that has bounce 8 on it afaik.
  6. I doubt that would be the issue: 4th gen core i5 4440 3.1 GHz 8GB DDR3 ram GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 DX11 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate Everything matches or is better than what EPIC recommends. I had a cruise around in UE4 editor just now and nothing crashed when going up against walls, so no idea. I'll just stick with UDK for now, wait until UE4 is out of its infancy.
  7. I'll just drop this here: http://i57.tinypic.com/33kya9c.jpg

  8. At least fix the vehicles in JKA SP that are used like the AT-ST. It's camera should be traded for a first person view, as it would be easier to see and control.
  9. And as I've confirmed, the FBX 2 GLM converter works with models from Maya. So it just needs animation support & reading from a .car file, which is also used by assimilate to generate an animation.cfg and to create any derivative animations from existing animations. Would be so helpful if Raven just gave us the source for carcass......
  10. Ah yeah, I had that sound with my old one (LG which was 7 years old) before it just never turned on anymore. I currently use a Samsung SyncMaster S22B300 LED 1080p which is 2 years old now.
  11. I'm fairly certain I picked development editor or whatever it's called. The code compiled fine with no issue.
  12. It seems to crash as soon as the cam collides with a wall.
  13. I'm just running a GTX 600 series (not home so can't say which one) with 1GB GDDR5. Zbrush behaves better on my current PC, which is great when it comes to sculpting fine details. My old GTX 540 couldn't do it, but was also due to my 1st gen core i3.
  14. *feels like a monkey* Any updates on this @@Psyk0Sith ?
  15. I'd feel a lot better about it if someone could code in a holstering system. Otherwise, it will just look weird. I'm thinking of removing the Briar from its holster for this same reason.
  16. The editor crashes every time I make some walls. :\ *unsubs for now*
  17. Re-import the GLM into Max and see how it's smoothed. Looks like you need to detach some faces to element to stop that odd smoothing. Anyways, this isn't a rend2 issue but a modelling issue.
  18. No one has actually said what Softimage can do with modelling, just that "it's great" & "it's unmatched". I'd like to hear EXACTLY what it can do that makes everything else pale in comparison.
  19. How shit! UE4 keeps crashing when I'm trying to make a wall.......

  20. That'll be a good one considering what I've seen hehe.
  21. Decided to buy UE4 for a test run, and see how much mischief I can cause...

  22. Bit surprised discovering an illegal version of UE4 already.....
  23. Decided to start a new project: Terminator Apocalypse MP. Will be using OpenJK and will also be standalone.

I'm taking a small break from DF2, as I feel a bit burnt out. All I'm doing at the moment is setting up the base project, nothing heavy. :D
