  1. The model isn't mirrored is it? I have been itching to get my hands on a Stormtrooper model that isn't mirrored. Also, does he come with a Stormtrooper backpack or pauldron? Those are real essentials to ST models.
  2. No don't let your childhood be ruined! Hold on to you know and love! Reject...whatever this is. In all seriousness, parodies are nothing new. I suspect we will get more things like this in the future. I think the best thing to do is to just ignore stuff like this. It shouldn't take away from the franchise we know and love.
  3. Indeed. Till this day I have been using the Human Female with brown hair as a representation of her. It is really not that good. However looking over some reference shots from art, Jaina carries a very similar appearance to that of Gwethenea. In fact, both their noses and lips like spot on to each other. So by using a combination of two hairstyles darkening the hair color, and changing eye color, I think I have reached a pretty good likeness of her. All I really need now are some clothes for her to wear.
  4. If you're looking for STs I'm your man. I've been trying to create one a long time with the Haps model but I have gone through many drafts and I haven't tried again with some new skills I have learned. Also, whenever your finished with the EVO model I would absolutely love to make a Shadow EVO Trooper. I have been wanting to make one since I first saw your model. By the way, not to push you or anything, but have you ever considered making a Jumptrooper? Anyway, I look forward to following this mod. Keep up the good work.
  5. Another important thing to consider when you get to texturing is what color you want the TIE to be. The current one in Academy comes up as gray while the TIE Bomber comes out as blue. I personally recommend blue but whatever you think works.
  6. I have decided to take a break from Gregor for awhile. He still is a little bit left to be done but I feel as if I might accidently rush him and make a mistake. So I am taking a break from him. I have several other projects that I am working on right now such as Greedo and Jaina Solo. As well as the 10th Legion. Now rest assured Gregor isn't cancelled or anything like that, I just feel I need to take a break from him for awhile. In the mean time, if you are intrested I can post photos of my other works.
  7. No "layer" is just a term to describe what exactly I put on the texture. I have never really have been a fan of layer tools. I like to keep things flat for the most part. Although looking back on the backpack, I can see where that would come in handy. But that's why I make backups.
  8. Alright, I just finished getting two new tally marks on to Gregor's helmet and I can't tell you how much of a pain it is to get them just right. The tally marks are where this guy is going to get difficult. I'm not sure how many in total are left to do. All I know is I am going to be so glad when the tally marks are done. In other news I have decided to slightly redo Gregor's backpack. Looking at reference shots his backpack has very little in terms of camo. I am sure I have a backup somewhere that was before I added the second layer. I also intend to add team skins to Gregor because I though it would look cool.
  9. For the TIE-Fighter: It looks like the horizontal panes on the top and the bottom are too short in terms of width. Here is a good reference shot for the wings:
  10. Aww...nuts. Oh well, I'll always welcome more Imperial models. Good luck.
  11. If you can find something that shows the right side of his helmet and it is in decent quality, I would greatly appreciate it.
  12. Are we talking about the Navy Commando as in the Navy Trooper + Commando or Navy Commando as in the one from the TFU game?
  13. I think I saw that one particular model but I think I will stick with the reference shots from the actual show and adapt them to the realistic commando myself. I'll have to look for some better views of Gregor's helmet though to get things right.
  14. Back on topic here; I have discovered a way to get the second layer of camo on to Gregor. Using a darker version of the official camo and using a low opacity, I was able to get the camo to stand out, which failed in both of my previous attempts. I think I still have a ways to go. But Gregor is making pretty good progress. I also (for the most part) like how the model is set up in terms of textures. The the textures map on to the model make it easier to apply the camo without it looking to weird. The only thing I really don't like is that the head is flipped on the texture map. It makes it a little more complicated to get the tally marks in place.
  15. Gasp! An Autobot! Our war has finally come here...
  16. Those are really cool! Nice work.
  17. It is very interesting to look back and see all the things that one has created only to come along much later only to have a much more updated base that is so much better than the previous one. I honestly don't know why I didn't do the base first. This will in fact mean I will have to do a Wolfpack version two with the updated textures. That's the good thing about Gregor, he doesn't need a new base. Next time I am about do a project that involves working with an incomplete base, somebody remind me of this. In Gregor news I believe I have discovered the method to adding the secondary camo layer. But I am going to try out a second method just to see which one turns out better.
  18. Not quite. I still need to get Gregor's other arm ready to go. As well as adjust the left thigh armor (it looks to funny in my opinon). Then I will need to add the secondary camo layer. While I believe I have the main shade of the armor right, it still needs a few touch ups here and there. So I unfortunately can't give a percise date. My planned procedure is to get all of the tally marks on to one image then that to use the eraser on certain points that I think would make the marks look realistic. I have a back up of the texture before tally marks were added so I am going to use that to make the marks look faded. As for the textures I have actually been using the base Clone Commando textures with the official camo pattern as my tool for adding the camo. It looks like they are kind of painted on, this shot is a pretty good reference. Indeed, you may. I wish you well on your Conversion.
  19. Gregor Update! I have to decided to show off what I've been doing with Gregor over the past few...however long its been. First here is a shot of Gregor as a whole: Next, the new "39" on his backpack. And finally a close look at the tally marks on his helmet (so far). After all they tally marks are in place, I intend to use an eraser and make it so the marks look a bit more realistic and not just like a blot of paint. Let me if you guys have any feedback or comments.
  20. In case your interested Kualan, you are more than welcome to use the "shiny" version I released for your skins. They have pretty much all the stretching problems and texture mishaps fixed.
  21. Guys, that's enough. There is no need to start fighting here. Botdra, I can respect your opinions on Academy and how this is just a simple skin. But I'd really appreciate it if you left Deviance alone. And Deviance, I appreciate your encouragement but I don't want you to get angry at Botdra for having his opinion. That said, maybe if you toned things down just a bit, it might make people a little more comfortable. No one is in trouble, but this is getting too personal and I really don't want to see that happen. So I would really like it if you two calm down and respect each other. Let's just agree to disagree. 22. Great news! Via a featurette on starwars.com I have been able to determine that in the Clone Wars series both Gregor and the other commandos share the same red and blue buttons on their backpacks. This means that since I am doing a realistic version, Gregor will have the end numbers on his backpack in place of the red and blue buttons that appear in the show like the real Delta Squad has.
  23. I will have to find some reference shots of the Clone Wars versions of Boss, Sev or one of the others. If the Commandos have red and blue buttons in place of the numbers, then I will put Gregor's number on his backpack, but if they are different then I will probably keep the red and blue buttons on Gregor's backpack. I will need to find some reference shots to know for sure.
  24. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed them. I can't tell you how long it took to fix all those texture problems. Gregor is probably beyond 65% by now. I just finished up one of his arms and I have all the tally marks on the left side of the helmet. I think the trick now will be to add some small extra camo touches to really bring out the armor.
