ArchAngel
if anyone has a solution to this i would greatly appreciate the help i am working on a map that has a large open space to allow for players to freely fly ships around in the map with a complex for players to go in but when near the complex the textures around the building causes a some what tracer effect when looking around and past the building as if its glitching the texture due the outer map wall / boundaries being too far away. anyone else ever had this problem? Noodle
Can you post a screenshot of said problem? Link to comment
mrwonko
Is this in radiant or in the game? Link to comment
Droidy365
If you're referring to the void-effect on the "walls" I've been having a similar problem. I think it's to do with the render distance. Link to comment
ArchAngel
it only does this when i load the map ingame Link to comment
Droidy365
Yeah, that's the void-effect alright... I'm not entirely sure how to fix it, because I've been having the same issue, too. Link to comment
Solution mrwonko Posted July 28, 2017 Solution Share Posted July 28, 2017 Things that are too far away won't be drawn, leading to this effect. I think there's some way to change the distance, adding some property to worldspawn, but I don't remember the exact name. Something along the lines of cull distance or far plane distance maybe? Ramikad
Set a decently high distancecull value to the worldspawn. Langerd and SomaZ like this Link to comment
Noodle
Make sure to change the gridsize and chopsize as well. this only happens in those huge maps with huge brushes. mrwonko likes this Link to comment
ArchAngel
Thanks I will give that a try and see if it fixes and will post back on here if it does or doesnt Link to comment
ArchAngel
Thanks guys setting the distancecull on worldspawn took care of the problem Link to comment
ensiform
It happens with blocks being in the wrong place during a chop. Link to comment
