How might we be able to see how our texture looks on the model itself, as well as in-game?

Magic, clearly.

Downloading and I'll do a bit of tweaking to it.

I'm not going to do some kind of outrageous editing to the texture.

But gonna do a bit of teal adding and the like.. when I get home from work tonight.

Naw, but seriously, very neat lookin' model. It makes me think GLADOS if she somehow built like a humanoid body for herself.

Its shirtless, and really the reason is because I love the background behind it.

And Inryi, I'm home and will be working on the image.. ^.^

I'm assuming we'll have to make our own .skin file to properly load the image onto the model in Modview.

You can make edits if you use some kind of alternate folder structure (although it'll be easier for me if you don't). Also, name your file something other than me-geth-if -- add your own initials instead of mine or something.

I'll be working on some parts of tonight - probably finalizing the soundset, if I can get away with it.

Alright, well as I said it wasn't going to be anything fancy or enormous when it comes to the changes.

Simply darkened the majority of him, and made the stripes teal and purple.

I know, I know...I'm weird. Oh well, deal with it! lol

That looks pretty cool. As a note, though (and you may have done it intentionally which is fine) you can turn off one of the stripe layers if you don't want both.

 

Also without shame I ask anybody who's willing to thumb up this screenshot on steam to help advertise not only the model, but also JKHub, since steam released its new game hub feature. I already got the screenie on the main page, but being at the top would be cool. :P

Yeah, I noticed it.. took me a little while to figure it out because I wasn't paying attention lol.

However, you'll notice in the .PSD, I did delete parts of the solid strip, so that the other one wasn't overlapping.

You could see the color difference and I didn't like it, sooooooo....yeah.

 

Also going to the steam now for ya!

Created a skin for the geth. very very simple coloring, but looks ok to me :P

^Don't use .jpg, it sucks, low quality and lack of alpha. Use .png, all the functionality of a .tga but with a much smaller file size.

 

If we pack a jpg in the pk3 it'll look lower res than all the others which are .png.

Um...mine is .JPG and no one has complained.

I've always used .JPG for my textures unless it absolutely requires .PNG

I've never encountered a lower resolution, so long as you make sure to save it at its highest possible.

And saving it at that doesn't make it have some gap in size compared to a .PNG.
