Physics for OpenJK

A modder created a LUA based mod years ago and brought physics to Jedi Academy (MP only). But unfortunately, the developer abandoned

that mod after very few releases (the version that contained the physics hasn't been released at all) and the videos on YouTube that showed the ingame physics have been deleted.

So, I thought, because the source code is out and Jedi Academy seems to be able to handle physics (with the right coding of course), it would be great to finally get them in the game.

I mean, at the time Jedi Academy was released, there were games that already had at least ragdoll physics.

To be honest, I don't like the pseudo-physics in Jedi Academy. For instance, if you throw a thermal detonator and it hits the ground, it seems correct at first.

But if you look closer, you can see that the grenade is actually BOUNCING like a bouncing ball. The same goes for the lightsaber.

Adding physics to Jedi Academy would be a huge improvement and could make the game even more realistic.

I also remember a physics mod called Stalax, from around 2007-08 Stalax physics were similar to your videos @Xycaleth

here's an old website http://www.wiremod.com/forum/off-topic/4338-stalax-jedi-academys-revolution.html

..and a fresh link that also has a DOWNLOAD button for Stalax+RP script  http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-jedi-academy/addons/stalax-roleplaying-scriptpack

That YouTube video is me :) I stopped development because without the engine source I couldn't get the level of integration I wanted.

Now with the engine source available, I don't have enough time or the inclination to add it  :P As for adding it to OpenJK, you wouldn't be able to keep compatibility with original JKA so it's a no go unfortunately.
