    The Ravensoft master server was online today briefly. Their new system appears to be running on Microsoft Azure, so you can expect it to be a lot more stable and scalable when they've finished implementing it properly :)

      It depends how they make use of Azure's capabilities. If they're just going to stick an old-school master server implementation on a VM, it's going to be the same. But if they are creating a new implementation that's built to use the cloud's auto-scaling and distributed storage abilities, then it'll be vastly improved under-the-hood.

       

      I don't think it'll make a noticable difference from a player's perspective though, it just sends a list of server...

      ...s, same is it always has done. You shouldn't see it going down due to DDoS attacks anymore, if they do it right. I'd love to share some code/architecture review insight with them, I've spent too many years procrastinating about master servers!

    The JKHub Master Server is back online again. It's at master.jkhub.org as always, and supports JKA and JK2 servers. It will undergo maintenance soon, but hopefully there won't be much downtime.

      Do you think it's a coincidence that every service online worth mentioning is running on Linux platforms? Windows isn't the answer to everything.

    JKHub Master Server rebooting for maintenance, you might see shortness of servers on the list for a up to 10 minutes while the servers have a chance to heartbeat again. (This is not related to the #heartbleed vulnerability all over the internet today)

    Sorry about yesterday's downtime of the JKHub master server, a "zero-day" exploit affected our provider's control panel and attackers got in and wiped every server from the system. More info from our provider: http://pastebin.com/pzDBqkbE

    JKHub Master Server is moving to a new machine. If you're using it, you might see a lack of servers for a while. Also make sure your sv_master is master.jkhub.org and not a hardcoded IP address!

    master.jkhub.org might be a bit rough right now. Amazon EC2 is having some problems, and it's even brought Minecraft's central databases down. I'm watching the console though, and it looks fine apart from some servers disappearing off the list even though they're still up.
