  1. Like @@AshuraDX said, we're going to review our current policies and hopefully establish some strict guidelines on porting to help our members wade through this "legal gray area". We do not want our policies to hinder someone from creating original work, so please, do not feel threatened by these developments. We are definitely open to suggestions and discussion. But please, do not stop creating original content because of this issue. We hope to have it resolved ASAP!
  2. Thanks for the correction, @@eezstreet
  3. The best way to go about it would be to use JAFont, as @@eezstreet suggested. There are directions of usage in the file's description. All you've gotta do is find a font you like, download it, and convert it. I believe "anewhope" is the menu font, so replace that in the Fonts folder. Fonts are just an image that the game subdivides (I think). So JAFont can easily pop a new font out for you in a jiffy.
  4. Half-Life 2 is pretty great.

Never played Stanley Parable, but I've seen a youtube video of it. Don't do what the narrator tells you to at all during the game, the ending is hilarious xD.

The whole game is hilarious, but it really makes you think. If you are looking for excellent, flashy action though, it's not your game. Okay, so the Lost Coast would come after Episode 2 correct?

It doesn't have a place in the story line. It's just to show off tech for the source engine.

    Tis' the season to necro.
  6. Tonight's the night! If you want to participate, get your gifts in ASAP! I'll be pretty lenient, but there will be a cut off time tomorrow.
  7. Aliases: Wector, WectorX Area of skills: Mapper, scripter, Single player guru Brief list of accomplishments: Popular Single Player modder, pioneer of "saga-based" mods, and guru of SP infastructure Examples of contributions: Creator of Movie Duels II Comments: One of the mods that everyone secretly wanted was a movie-based single player campaign. Many had tried, like Tim, but failed. Such a massive undertaking had never before been attempted and exacted with the degree of success he achieved. While he definitely didn't do it alone, (Plasma was a notable contributor) the founder of Movie Duels was integral in designing a workable, manageable mod. It is by far one of the most popular SP mods ever released. It not only fulfilled a popular community request, but it provided inspiration for many other modders to persevere through their projects. Synopsis of Movie Duels II from the wiki:
  8. No prob man. Here's some more info if your interested: http://jkhub.org/wiki/index.php?title=Movie_Duels_II
  9. Hmmm...this escalated quickly. One modder I think radically changed the modding scene (in particular, the Single Player scene) is Wector, responsible for Movie Duels II. That is all.
  10. I'm not gonna be that strict. I'll probably close it half way through my Saturday, to avoid any timezone confusions. You don't have to go all out, or anything...
  11. I've extended the send-in period for the White Elephant until this firday! So you have 2 more days to get your gifts in! Thanks to everyone who has already sent theirs in!

    Hello All!

Hey there! Welcome to the Hub! Seems like you've got some great ideas for the future!
  15. If it contains any one else's work, it probably would be a good idea to just add a quick mention to them. You shouldn't need to contact them, only if you plan to host it here.
  16. Sure, wishlists are definitely an option.

    This Christmas

It's that time of year. It's crazy to believe that it's already December. We've had so many amazing happen this year: 10 years of JKA, 1 year of JKHub, and the release of the JKA SP code. To "wrap up" this pretty epic year, we're gonna be doing something new. To celebrate the holiday season, we're going to be hosting a White Elephant Gift Exchange. The basic mechanics are simple: You make an obscure/random/cool/whatever mod, and you bring it to the party. We then go around, opening these "mystery" gifts, stealing and trading them from one another. Quite fun. Except when you get stolen from. One thing that will be different this year: You will not recieve your gift until the game has concluded and you alone will get it. That way, the gift will be uniquely yours. Of course you can share it with the community, if you wish. I'll get to finer details of the game (or forum "event") soon enough, but first let's talk about... The gifts. Really, there aren't no specific rules as to what your file should be. Make it cool, weird, and unique! Will it be that sleek, hot item that everyone fights over? Or the ugly sweater some one gets stuck with? That's up to you! Just please: put some effort into your gift. This will be no fun if we all get ugly sweaters. Your gift will only be viewed by the JKHub staff (to ensure it's goodness) and the recipient. Screenshots will be taken to display your gift, once it's been chosen. Here are some general guidelines to follow: Nothing inappropriate. You know.Effort, please! It MUST be your own, original work. It may integrate the use of other mods to a certain extent (a very modified skin), but may not be a file by another author. No files that have already been submitted to JKHub are valid. Sorry.Upload your file to Dropbox, or some other safe upload service. You give full rights to the work to the recipient, but they MUST credit you. (Example: they can upload it, with credit given)How to enter. When you've made a gift of maximum goodness, send it to The White Elephant via PM. All files must be received by December 18th. Thanks! How it's gonna work. The staff, including myself, are going to continue brainstorming an effective plan of action, but for now, this is the plan. A new forum will be added, called "White Elephant Gift Exchange". This forum will contain rules, gift lists, and the trading topic. One December 19th, a list will be posted in the forum giving the order of gift choosing. A "gift list" of gift colors will be made available. The person whose turn it is will get to choose a gift color, revealing it to everyone. This event may span OVER Christmas, but will conclude by the 31st at the latest, depending on reply times, etc. So now that I've thoroughly confused all of you, I'm gonna make an example between me, @@Circa, and @@Fighter. Make sense? Why are we doing this? It's so tl;dr! I'd really like to try something new this year (rather than Secret Santa, which is still pretty cool). Also, this will be our first experiment with forum interactivity and "events" which could be something cool. Questions? I know I've made you confused. Leave any questions below, and we'll do our best to figure em' out. If you have any suggestions, PLEASE share them! We'd love to make this as effective as possible! Is this event mandatory? Absolutely not! It's all just for fun! To "wrap" it up:Make a gift by December 18th, and send it to The White ElephantStay tuned on December 19th for the new Forum and the game to be officially be startedParticipate when you are listed to do so!Have fun. That is all. 19. You reference an anger script AND an alert script. Try adding both to your spawn script.
