  1. All the time? What've they got against us...?
  2. I have a ton of bandwidth (2500GB?), but the manual work puts me off.
  3. Didn't someone try to download the whole of jkfiles? What happened to that?
  4. I look at both the same way. I found out that the gaming host's servers were offline, as were their website, so I think they might have been a target themselves. Cause that particular port is one of their COD servers' IP. I also found that of the top 10 JKA servers listed in GameTracker, a few have disappeared. I didn't know, but some one had re-added mine to the damn site and it was on fifth, probably why it was targeted. Still seems kinda random...Anyway I've firewalled GT now.
  5. Keep an eye on this ip. It only started a few moments ago, I was able to change ports and cut it back. A quick lookup shows that its a dedicated server by OVH... Gametracker shows that it belongs to a gaming server host. I'm contemplating taking action. Not that I'm particularly vengeful but I'd like to try since I've never done that before. Anyway, server owners pls firewall this dude.
  6. What 'messing around' is he doing? Trolling/ laming or what? Are you running any mods that could be used to punish him? For nefarious people that I can't get rid of, I'd kick them and watch them come back and boot them again. If you have a thing that prevents more than one connection from an IP within a certain time limit, that keeps them out for a bit until they change IP. Keep at it long enough and eventually they will give up for that hour or something. They'll come back another day and you gotta repeat. It's not a permanent solution, but it gets across the message that you're not giving in and that their methods aren't doing them much good.
  7. I read somewhere on the net that setting JA to a single core/ processor would make it run smoother. Those who run servers, what's your opinion on this?
  8. I'm on retail, on and off since vanilla. Tried private servers, really liked one called Gears of War or something couple of years back but got upset when it died and never went back to private. Did host one myself but it was frigging lonely >.< What do you wanna know about MoP? 4.3.4 was sooo long ago I can not remember how it is like haha.
  9. who's going to deal with clans fighting others in the server? trolling and the usual lamers against anti-lamers etc
  10. Aint realised I'd been registered here more than a year already. I feel...old.

  11. if you gave new clans free servers they might stick around longer...
  12. 10 years over here. I still can hardly believe it's been that long, it feels as though it was just yesterday that I couldn't jump over the little stream near the second waterfall in SP's first mission...>.< Map-editing, superficial code/dll modding have prolonged my interest in JKA. Else I'd have left long ago
  13. The longest time it's been down for was one week (and like half of JKA died), so if it were two days I'd consider it short... So far from what I've observed it seems to happen most on weekends. I'm curious as to what goes on behind this, but I don't think I'd ever find out.
  14. This is the second time within the span of one month, the last downtime was Aug 29 2013!!!!
  15. I'm hoping lol... It's for a basejka server, don't want mods of any kind.
  16. Yes well, I've been forced to run Linux >.< I need Linux server fixes, which I can't download or not capable of understanding how to make them from Luigi. I've only been able to get the rcon half a second limit disabler. Would be good if someone made a bunch or uploaded theirs to JKhub. Move thread if necessary 'cause idk if here is the right place to post.
  17. Apparently once I moved JKA off C drive on Win8, there wasn't a need to run as admin to get it working anymore :D

yup, Administrative Permissions really just means that it gives rights to write onto the C drive. OpenJK also eliminates said restriction.

Interesting...does the same apply for 7?

  18. I had that frustrating problem on my laptop running Win8 and having to run the exe as admin everytime I wanted to play, but once I moved it off C drive and renamed the folder I never got that again. Not sure if it's applicable to you though.
  19. (This'll be the last time I OT in this thread xD) I had some login issues with my account in the MM forum and in order to contact Scooper I'd have to make a new account which requires email activation I believe, and something had conked up their auto-emailing system. In the end I had to stalk the MM servers and find someone to help me PM him.
  20. So is the server problem solved yet? I almost tried Multiplay except I couldn't get across to them what I wanted. Now that I know there's no privacy regarding customer content I'm never going to be one of theirs. A friend of mine once used a real crappy pc (1.6ghz, 1GB RAM) to host a dedicated JKA server. 16 slots, and he said it used a minimum of 700 MHz, 'a few hundred' mbs of RAM. The only thing was that he's a programmer and tweaked Windows to using very little resource. We later ran Makermod on it too without any problem. @@Scooper btw there doesn't seem to be a way to PM or email you on the MM forum without requiring an account.
  21. 48 hours!? I'm surprised you hadn't fled. They used to have a guy on xfire all the time but he slowly vanished. You should ask for extra game server time. He also knows nothing about troubleshooting JKA servers lol. A reinstall should (if not will) fix it. At least you have an active server instead of wasting your money. Scooper doesn't get on the MM forum much. Too bad I don't run Lugor or I'd help you with your Markmods server. See if anyone else can help you here, or I could get the Lugor files and have a look. If you have some experience running a Lugor server locally and it works fine, you can upload the whole pile to Markmods in a ZIPPED second folder ''jediacademy2'', put in a ticket to have them delete the first folder and rename yours to ''jediacademy''. Just make sure the stuff looks the same ie base and the exes inside GameData. That's how I got mine to work, was a damn lot of trouble but once it's stable it's smooth.
  22. Still mourning the loss of Moondog's tutorials. Maybe future tweaks to the forum could include leaving old posts behind when someone deletes their account...

No, I was told by someone who is still in contact with him that everything was intentionally deleted. Serious dick move when those tuts helped people.

I cant unless I have a specific topic you need help with! And yes intentionally deleted them all.

Something about how to light up extra .bsps areas. And how to scale boundaries of models/objects, can't remember if it were the boundaries only or the appearance as well. Might be both...

Hmm well, what a waste :<

  23. Markmods support used to be much much better. I have a server with them almost a year now and as long as you know how to deal with your own server problems it's decent. No extreme/long lag nor downtime for me. Tried Lowpinggameservers? Or how about Nuclear Fallout? Hypernia is another option but they are shitty about not letting you upload/delete your own DLLs and exes. Also if they get DDOS'ed they just tell you there's downtime and it could last ages... Yea you can get a decent Windows VPS for $15 minimum. I've seen cheaper ones but they tend to be laggy like crap. Be sure your provider has nothing against game hosting in their TOS.
  24. Try using the makermod client plugin, it should show you a list of makermod servers, not including invisible ones.
