    Lots of summer hosts in LEB. Do your review research on them before getting one. Also 9 of 10 hosts there don't allow game servers to be run. What's your budget and location wanted?

      Hmm, it would appear they took off their DDOS protection for game servers/vps.

      It's still there. It covers your typical $5 booters, or 10 - 20Gb. It's just not meant to be a replacement for -actual- mitigation services that cost an arm and a leg, so it's not advertised as such.

       

      The application layer stuff this game attracts tends to fly under their radar since it looks like legit traffic, though.

      Didn't see it stated publicly anymore. Unless of course it still applies to old and current customers. Came across a thrread elsewhere how NFO was being ddos'ed non stop.

    Can't remember properly but I believe scripting is needed, else even if you get them to show up anyone who uses it will crash out.

    What's the deal with 1.01 servers showing up in 1.00 and vice versa...?

      1.01 and 1.00 use a different value for the "protocol" cvar. By overriding your server's protocol, you can make it show up in a different server browser (You can even get Q3 servers to show up on the JKA 1.01 list, I think)

      I notice this mixup seems to coincide with servers becoming invisible. (not showing up on main lobby)

      1.01 servers need to have their "protocol" cvar set to 27 (I think). Not sure totally what's up with that.

    Didn't one or two people give JKHub a server before or something? What happened to that? I have no issue with setting up a server on either Germany/USA/Australia(lol) for free, but I have some questions: 1. Is it really needed when there are so many unused (even un-admined) servers around? 2. With all the previous talk about setting up a central JKHub server, how come only now there is 'official' interest in it? 3. DDos mitigation. No doubt someone's gonna come at us. What are you going to do if someone launches an attack?

    @ 1. Put patch commander contents into base. Preferably a default one (no mb2 base pk3s etc). Maybe you can back up your stuff on another drive with Steam's backup. 2. Right click JKA in Library & go to Properties & disable automatic updating. 3. Click on the 100.bat in base. Accept/Agree to the stuff... 4. You'll need a CD1 image. (I have no idea why) Also a image mounter. Mount image. 5. Right click JKA in Library and launch Multiplayer. See if that works for you, it did for me on a clean base. To get back into 1.01, either enable automatic updating or click on 101.bat.

    Jango, 101 has a jillion servers. Even if empty. Savage, lemme ask my clan mate how he does it (he's using steam)...You're using steam right?

    There's no 'benefit', even 1.01 has its own issues. The 1.00 community is tiny and some people prefer that than the vast ocean of 1.01. I stuck in 1.00 for years until the decrease in people in playable ping servers forced me to take a step back. But I acknowledge, 1.01 is awesome in ways 1.00 isn't. I love makermod and that isn't happening in 1.00.

    If its a cd version can just reinstall. If its steam it's more troublesome you need a patch commander and a cd 1 image. (also 1.00 is empty except for some Huns which play about 9 hours from time of this post.)

    Click on Game: all, change to Jedi academy and then back to all. Or spam get new list, then refresh list.

      RamNode is awesome! master.jkhub.org, builds.openjk.org, and didz.co.uk all run off only *one* of the lowest-tier VPSs they provide. $2 a month.
