Any other stuff that doesn't work? Have any of you come across the siege animations error that clients get when they reach a certain part of a map?

The Internet of that host is pretty stable, knew someone who had a JKA server from them. Hardware, of course, varies.

Forgot to mention too that I use modified DLLs too. Gonna have to find a way to do it linux-style.

I used Debian once. It's fine, it's just the master list that others have said. Running servers require patience - lots of it.

A personal mod that someone made at my request so you won't find it anywhere xd Hm just so happens that I've seen servers with and without the bug that were Linux... Nope fps was default, it was a default server. No mods.

That jampded was modified to run in conjunction with a mod - an external exe (nope I can't tell you what goes there cause while I gave it some imput I didnt touch the coding). I haven't tried those fixes you posted, but are they fine for 1.00 as well? The 'jampded' wouldn't be... Also I've had strange experience with two different linux servers, people could kill instantly with staff kick, lightning instant killed, siege giving animation bugs that crashed.

I've always wanted to say this - you're a bot! Instant reply lol and you're always online. XD That particular jampded has been modified <.< to allow something that I'd rather not say here... Hm, maybe that's why after 4000/5000 minutes of server uptime invulnerability bubbles, lava and elevators start to look like theyre lagging. Fixes I'm referring to are just about everything luigi has but force and model.

Enlighten me, programmers/ coders etc... ______ I'm thinking of switching to using Linux servers (both vps/dedi and JKA) to reduce cost and be able to maximize resource usage. I'm not too good with these technical things, so I would appreciate if someone could tell me: - I can't run exe's right? I happen to have a particular jampded exe that I'd like to use... - DLLs? Is there a Linux equivalent? - is it true JKA on Linux has memory leaks? I'm asking the above because i don't know if my jka servers would be equally secure if they were Linux instead of Windows. I don't know if the Linux fixes out there cover what windows fixes does. I read somewhere on escapedturkey that due to jka having leaks or some sort they have to restart the server every now and then... I'm not familiar with Linux having used windows since young, so I've never been able to get a JKA server restart script working. I do have limited experience with using the console (is that what it's called?) so I can do basics such as starting up a JKA server and copying files. I also had a wined server once but it took up way too much resource for me to be happy with it. Not talking about mods yet...I know loads don't run on Linux.

I haven't had a time when mine doesn't auto auto-restart - and yes I use a task to boot JKA servers up - maybe its just a host thing.

Just curious, does your server appear on xfire list..? Only 28090 appeared for me after the getstatus stuff. Just yesterday I switched 2 invisi one's to 10000 & 20000, appeared after an hour. I doubt that specific ports influence master list visibility unless you're using a port utilized by services. I used to sit in invisi servers thinking maybe having someone inside would encourage(lol) the server to show, no luck xD

At best you could give it a few hours...sometimes it appears on its own later, usually between an hour to three days. Anymore than that change the port again (to something ridiculous like 30000?) and restart the vps if it still doesn't show (but there's always a risk of both servers not showing up) but don't spam it. Restarting it a trillion times (like I did) made mine go invisible but it's up to you might get lucky... If you get both servers to show up again leave them or they'll go poof again... Idk why if it's more than one server using the same ip this 'bug' happens, perhaps the master list thinks it being spammed from that ip, but that's just what I think I'm no techie. Anyone else using vps/dedi's? Would be good to share experience, esp about hosts, etc...?

Sometimes it just mysteriously bugs...I noticed more of that when 1.01 servers show up in 1.00 list and vice versa... Several of mine have also gone off the radar since the getstatus incident, but I'd attribute that to too many server restarts within a short period. 1 of 3 JKA servers on each of my dedi's show up...only...after I restart the physical / virtual server itself. If you have multiple JKA servers running on one IP the chances of one or two not listing is also higher than if each server had its own IP. Also once my server wouldn't appear because I had set one too many custom 'seta's (like seta "location" etc) Usually an IP change fixes it. Port change doesn't work as well. I've had my 3 servers from magnavolge go invisi for an entire week (after the master list died for some reason and came back to life) until I experimented with various different ports, finally a new IP, and then when one of the invisi servers on the old IP (on a new port) showed up, moved em back to the old one a couple of days later. Hope I'm making sense, it's the third day I've screwed up sleeping.

Wouldn't that show 'no rcon password set' ? I happen to know of a player who goes around taking rcon from such default servers and banning everyone then renaming the server 'XXX the king/ XforPresident' etc lol. Alright, not gonna hijack this thread anymore, hope everyone gets their stuff sorted...

The host s using a downloaded server package (jampded/server.cfg) if you could find out the source of it you could view the rcon. Just hope they hadnt put //..

Heh that happened with magnavolge...send them an angry ticket. Don't suppose you remember what the default rcon pass was, assuming yours came with one? Maybe with the recent attacks they thought a reinstallation would fix things.

I saw a great deal of *Jedi* servers on GameTracker with similar IPs, yours(with that port) is one of them. It looks as though someone has reinstalled many game servers... Set show 50 servers, go to page three an you'll find yours amongst the *Jedi*'s

Heh, yes. All of them are. I also discovered I wasn't the only one under attack just that others weren't aware of it until they did developer 1

A million years later I reappear ~~ Just confirmed it IS getstatus, cause the attacker(s?) decided to move onto some of my dedicated servers and I got a chance to see exactly what was going on. The server with better hardware shows no sign of being affected by it, however the one with less resource does get its CPU chewed. Apparently the better hardware one had been attacked for ages and I wasn't aware of it (lol!) With regard to the JKA server that first started this thread, it got better when the port was changed. Now it only happens once every many days >.< I think it's a bot network, cause both dedi's are showing numerous different IPs. WTB fix soon D:

I thrive on 300...and I turn into a really good sniper if I'm lucky to get 230-240 ping. But maybe it is the ping that makes me prefer Korriban over the rest or maybe just less effort needed... Is it going to be default or JA+? I might hop on if it isn't in the dead of the night.
