@eezstreet Can you please lock this topic as it's become a place for people to troll Tron.
Since you refuse to leave him alone I won't stand by and do nothing.
-
You can actually do that too, yes. It's a bit of a workaround but it's possible. It involves using the playermodel command.
I figured it would work so long as people don't mind manually typing it.
-
Yeah, but it requires code changes.
I thought so, I only asked because I recall having a mod at one point that had a player.npc that was scaled like player_apprentice, player_knight etc to adjust you accordingly. Thanks for answering though, eezstreet.

I wondered if it were possible to change the way the player stats behave depending on the difficulty of the game, I know it scales health down as the difficulty goes up but can it also be altered in a way the force regen rate/pools change with difficulty?

I had a brief go at mapping...all of 30 minutes and was stuck scratching my head when it refused to shrink something that had somehow become the side of an Executor Class Star Destroyer....

The AI in Outcast were way smarter and a lot tougher than the JA AI, that said, I believe the AI on JA scale in toughness depending on the difficulty.

Well there are 2 kor2 music folders, both have explore/action/final battle inside them which is kor_lite and kor_dark so that lite file might be another cause.
The music that kicks in for kyle does sound like the rancor_action track but
There is also this from the dms.dat file:

I actually did a quick playthrough from Taspir2 Dark Side in devmap after I responded to this originally and it sounds like the track it's loading is inside another folder entirely.
Of course one thing I can think of is to create a music folder in base, put the track inside and when the cinematic ends hit escape before you fight and type:
music music/<whatever you called it>
At least while I poke around and see if I cannot identify the offending files.
You'll want to edit the script for the two cutscenes (the ones before and after the fight). I don't know exactly which ones those are, but if you take a look at the Raven script source, in kor2 or kor_dark folder you should find it easily.
I also looked into the script and it doesn't actually state the music it should play, only what script to jump to next depending on circumstances, of course I don't have a program to properly view them so it shows something like these:
IBI ÃõÈ? EDIT: After inspection I believe it may be tied into the kor_lite folder, try replacing the final_battle music in there too and see if that changes anything.

Actually one way to do it is to simply put in a new music file sharing the same name as the existing one you want to change, just make sure the mp3 is set to the correct 'settings'. It will change it without a need to alter the games coding meaning it will automatically play, so long as you know which track is the one you're looking for it shouldn't be a major issue.

It's funny to see how this is a hot topic when it's next to dead. I may as well revive this if I decide to revive it.
EDIT: And seeing as how my entire staff turned on me a while ago and banned me, I decided to just stop entirely.
Well if you do decide to start up, I don't mind helping out.

Did you try using a .zip file?
That Street said, the .pk3 file itself has to be packed into a .zip file for upload.

I think you need better advertising or something. For example, I have just learnt of your RP
It literally says in the first line of text it's a Roleplay community...

Update #3: Moved onto Mercenary Activity. So far I've been trip mined, detonated, disintegrated and blasted to pieces by three different weapons!
Oh dear god....I laughed!
I reran byss last night and turns out I was indeed wrong as people pointed out about hazard and rocket troopers.

Okay so this is aimed at the staff, I uploaded a hilt for someone to my dropbox from a hilt pack I had, the issue is however the hilt has appeared in numerous packs and not a single one has had a readme in, so I couldn't even credit the original author (which I'd have liked to) or even request permission. After looking at the rules, could I still upload the hilt even though I don't know who made it or how to contact them?
I mean sure they could poke their head in and spot it, ask it to be taken down or me to credit them which is fine, this hilt is several years old (at least 4-5 judging by my memory of first seeing it).

As this post has served it's purpose, the link has been removed by the poster.

As for the hilt, I believe I have a copy of it.
-
If I recall, certain NPC's will follow scripts for things like alt fire if you give them certain names.
-
Ignore my response, I actually misread what was posted due to a distraction and inattention to what I was reading.
-
That sounds about right, with a lot of the older content you can't really do much past contacting them, chances are many will have stopped using the emails attached to their content or have simply moved on and left the game behind. If the a280 model has been in there for a few years and you cannot find recent content (I mean new stuff not reuploaded stuff), you don't get a response in say..4-6 days I'd assume he's no longer available and go ahead, removing the content in the event he does eventually respond and say he's not okay with you using it.
It's alright to assume, so long as you aren't trying to pass off someone elses work as your own, the same goes for if there was no contact info despite the license saying 'contact for permission', it might have been from another site originally like JK3Files which was taken offline so the original contact info is no longer available.
That's the main issue with a lot of reuploaded stuff, their creators might not be using hub, and there might be no email to check with them. So long as you don't give them reason to think you've stolen and claimed it as your own there shouldn't be a big issue in the event they do finally see it and ask you remove it, just remember to also credit them regardless of if you get permission or nothing but an empty inbox, it's a way to show gratitude for them at least creating the content.
A side note: You may find that some owners have given the current holders (the MB2 team) special permission to grant others use of their content due to their own absence, so check with the pack owners too, in the event the original creator doesn't respond, they could still have a way to contact him or her in a different manner too.

t3_byss is probably the hardest to speedrun, because of the amount of instakill that happens there with the rockettroopers and heavytroopers.
t3_byss had non of those...it was all stormtroopers on a massive ship, it was like a maze where you kept going in circles.

Would it actually work if I introduced additional 'playermodels': player_apprentice player_jedi, player_knight, player_master and gave each a custom force pool/regen?
