  1. Note: I'm uncertain regarding the posting of communities from other games on here but I'll go ahead, if it's not allowed I'll simply remove it.

    Name: Civil Universe CWRP

    Game: Gmod

    IP: 185.177.22.115:27015

Map: rp_rishimoon_crimson_cg1 (Custom version of the rp_rishimoon_crimson)

    Era: Clone Wars

    Type: Semi-Serious Military RP

Server Size: 60 slots (We're a small community, admittedly, averaging 20 people a day)

What to expect: On CU you can expect to jump into the life of a clone of one of several battalions following your initial training, during which you'll be taught the basics such as formations, DEFCONs (note these are our own and not standard) among other things. Each battalion has their own "thing" they specialize in to give a sense of uniqueness to them, for example the "212th Attack Battalion" have Air Troops who have access to Jetpacks and the "41st Elite Corps" have scouts with snipers and speeders/AT-RTs.

We have Jedi, a VIP role (though how to obtain it is currently unknown due to changes to the donations after CU lost a number of members after being falsely told it was shutting down).

We try to stay as close to the canon while having our own events to simulate situations such as battles, rescue operations and such.

We use a ranking structure (though a rather odd one), which is limited to certain jobs, for example Private to Corporal is a Trooper, very basic equipment with around 300 hp, Sergeant to Warrant officer is a Sergeant with a boost to that HP, Lieutenant to Captain, an officer role, expected to recruit, train and other things, has more HP, Senior Officer (Major and Colonel), the "inner circle", similar to the officer but more power, then an XO and CO, the two in charge of the battalion, responsible for everything.

Jedi follow a structure similar to canon/legends, with the exception of added roles like Sentinel, Consular and Guardian as ranks in that order, with a Master of the Order (Mace Windu) and Grand Master (Yoda) on top, with the "Jedi General" lore roles just below that.

We have a variety of mods and a couple of developers who code on the side to change and introduce new things.

Battalions you can join: 501st, Galactic Marines, 327th, 212th, 41st, 104th, EOD (Engineer on Duty), Shadow Troopers, Coruscant Guard (Law Enforcement), as well as ARC.

Are there other roles?: Yes, we have Republic Commandos, Delta and Omega squad, which can be joined by attending an advanced Test.

We have Lore Jedi roles, which can be applied for, following which individuals are interviewed to test if they know enough and can show initiative.

We have "The Fleet", the people in charge, lead by a Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, Admiral and Vice Admiral, with captains, commanders and other officers just below that.

A large number of "Event jobs", used during events to allow for different scenarios, these range from iconic individuals like Dooku and Ventress to simple civilians.

We don't have our own unique forums, as we share them with 2 other servers, so we rely mainly on TS and Discord outside the server.

  2. I've noticed on a number of maps, certain surfaces are missing textures or the entire thing is just a dark, untextured void which results in the game crashing in SP, most notibly for SP maps and one/two custom maps.

  3. DO NOT OPEN THE SPOILER BELOW IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE, IT WILL SPOIL THE FILM A GREAT DEAL.

For me the moment that shocked me the most was the supposed 'Death' of Leia so early into the film, I didn't see that coming a mile off and half the cinema I was in gasped in shock.

There was a wave of approval when Yoda made an appearance, destroying the tree with the books in and a good laugh when he started hitting Luke with his stick.

I thought Snokes death was brilliant, if bittersweet and short lived, to see him sliced in half so easily because of his overconfidence made me question why they gave him such a mysterious background, only to kill him off without giving us any answers to his origins.

It was nice to find out what happened to Lukes ship, now located under the sea as it made me think of Dagobah briefly.

The final scene with Luke becoming one with the force, for me, was understandable. He'd clearly put all he had into projecting himself, he did as Obi-Wan did before him and gave his life so the others could escape.

The Phasma death scene annoyed me, I felt robbed of a good character to see her eye exposed only to drop into an inferno screaming angrily felt like it had robbed Finn of closure.

Finn trying to sacrifice himself, I had a mini heart attack when Rose saved him, as the 'Mini Death Star tech' cannon was about to fire.

The destruction of the Mega Star Destroyer was well done, it drew upon the dangers mentioned in the EU of why jumping to hyperspace is so dangerous, but again it killed another character before he really had a chance to connect to her.

Leia using the Force... For me this was the biggest WTF moment of the entire movie, she'd been exposed to the vacuum long enough to kill a normal person yet, survives.. They couldn't have shown off her abilities some other way that didn't involve her being on the bridge when it's blown up? I was upset to hear Ackbar confirmed dead.

The language! My lord there were some curse words thrown in that movie, Star Wars was never one to contain curses so to hear Finn yell 'Bastard' surprised me.

The destruction of the Skywalker Lightsaber - Didn't see that coming, what happens now? They literally managed to rip it in half.

The whole 'Fire everything' when Luke appears on Crait (albeit via projection) was another amusing point, people laughed when the smoke cleared and he was just stood there with a smug look on his face because he was unharmed, something that infuriated Kylo.

"The Message" or as Luke called it "Cheap Shot", a reminder of why Luke has joined the fight to begin with, to save Leia. 'Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my old hope.'

Luke just flings the lightsaber off the cliff the moment Rey hands it to him. Another great moment that wasn't expected.

Lastly, Reys origins... all that mysticism about her and she really did come from nothing, sold by her parents out of selfishness for their own gain. Thanks for the build up to a big nothing.

Just an example of what you could do, of course because he's TEAM_NEUTRALl he won't follow you around like he would if he was TEAM_PLAYER for the playerteam, setting it to TEAM_PLAYER would result in npcs like reborn/cultist/merc/etc attacking him too, but that's for you to decide, the enemyteam TEAM_NEUTRAL is to ensure he is docile and won't attack anyone. I've set the class to CLASS_PRISONER to ensure there is no resistance to force powers.

I suggest using the https://jkhub.org/files/file/2420-npctool/ to help with the stats.

  5. Yeah, the Clone Campaigns are notoriously more difficult than the base ones. Managed to get through them, but I doubt that was on hard difficulty, either easy or medium. Heck, even a moderate difficulty almost destroys me in skirmish games :P

My issue with the CC was that the AI in the original campaign missions tended to be idle, especially in the training ones where all they'd do is collect resources and not create soldiers. Other than that I loved the game and have it installed atm.

  6. Sounds too vague, is there something more to that story? I can't see why someone shouldn't use a model out of respect. Either way, it is also possible to remodel the default female human head, like it was used in the Imperial Females models.

Nope, the conversation literally went along the lines of 'Using that head on scerendos torsos is a discredit' followed by attempts to locate other models with different heads suitable and the idea of asking for an entirely new model from scratch based off artwork.

  7. I can't say much about 'Why' without naming names. The request is the result of a private discussion I had with someone who advised me NOT to use the head for the clothing I intended to use 'Out of Respect'. Simply put.
