  1. Someone clearly doesn't understand the engine limitations, nor the real nitty-gritty bits of modeling.  This old engine will shit the bed if models are not kept to certain restrictions.  More so, the one reason to maintain a low-res/high-detail balance is that while 1 model being rendered in game at the maximum detail may be fine, for every additional instance of that model or a similarly high-detail one, the game engine is going to lag and drop frames like a military cadet with leprosy.

Well, I'm not here to understand limitations in game modelling. I'm here to download good models  :P, seeing as how JK3Files.net is no longer active.

  2. I have already finished the new HQ sounds for Kylo Ren lightsaber and blade effect, what remains is the hilt model. If Roxoon want to use his hilt black model then i will release soon if not will take some time to finish this. As i said in my status the animation will not be included because of JKhub policy of using others model/skin creations. So i will make a personal blog to upload whatever mod i want as i done with My StarCraft BroodWar version.

God, no! Don't use Rooxon's hilt. No offence to him, but that's not at all, accurate. You could however, always ask @@Darth Martyr if he'd be willing to let you use his Kylo Ren hilt from his mod. I don't know if he'd approve or not, but he's made an awesome replica of Ren's hilt, over at http://jkhub.org/files/file/2609-kylo-rens-lightsaber/

  3. Hey guys,

I know that right now, there's not really much to go on. But I was wondering if anyone would be willing to try and replicate the the blades and intense sounds of the lightsabers, from "Episode VII: The Force Awakens"? I know we've only really got Finn & Rey's blue lightsaber (Which is essentially Anakin & Luke's) and Kylo's red, "unstable" blade (as the result of using a cracked Kyber crystal) to go on, but I just thought that after seeing the movie, listening to the SFX of the two lightsabers and seeing their blades, it'd be pretty interesting to see someone come up with a mod for it. The sounds of lightsabers sounded a lot stronger and louder and I quite liked the effect. It made them feel like a much more feared and dangerous weapon.

Obviously, Kylo Ren's lightsaber wouldn't really need to be done (As @@Darth Martyr has a pretty accurate version available for download, already.. And Kylo's saber style/blade is pretty unique to him, anyway). So if someone could recreate Finn/Rey & Anakin/Luke's lightsaber from Episode VII and apply that same affect to the other colours, such as green, yellow, orange, purple. etc. It'd also add another very useful download to the ever-growing list of Force Awakens' mods.

    To help out as much as I can, I'll try and post whatever footage or screenshots I can gather of the sabers in action, to use as a reference. They're posted below;

.. What I meant was, keep it high-res enough so that it has the best detail, the game can handle. @@Darth Martyr achieved it with the hilt of Kylo Ren's lightsaber. So I'm just saying that if the quality of Rey's staff can match that quality, then there isn't a problem and everyone's a winner!  ^_^

  5. And what gives you the authority to talk down to him? We're all equals in this community.

It's still their source code and therefore they can enforce whatever license they want.

Equals, huh? Well, I don't see a title under his name that says "JKHub Admin".. I'm not saying I do, either. But I'm just making a clear and valid point.

And since when are Raven going to prosecute anyone using their source code. They have nothing to do with the Star Wars community now and have long since finished their affiliation with it. I can assure you that if they were that worried or upset about someone using their source code, then they'd have filed reports and injunctions against those that have done so. And even saying that, nobody is trying to make any profit from selling their source code. But I doubt they'd even notice or take any interest, if they did.

  6. I agree, the authority isn't mine but it is Raven's. The JKA source code was released by Raven under the GNU GPLv2 license, which states that any derivative works must also be licensed under the same license. Said license states that the source code must be made available upon request (though most people just make the code publicly accessible).

Technically.. You're wrong, again. It's not even Raven's now, as on April 3, 2013 following the closure of LucasArts, Raven Software released the source codes for Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy on Sourceforge.

  7. What about source code? He's required to release it if requested (as his code is derived from the JKA code released by Raven whose license requires this) but my feeling is he has always evaded the question when asked.

You're not an admin of the site, so you've got no authority here.. Unless you have a model in the mod that he's using without your permission. Then, only then, do you have any authority.

  8. I just read that on the other thread! If you can figure out how to pull the audio from the disney infinity Gamedata I can definitely format it for JA. I don't have disney infinity... but I was even thinking about trying to replicate the mask effect, that way I could run any dry Adam Driver dialogue through it and it would work... either way, I'll look into it!

    I refer you to this:

  9. Looking good. Here are my suggestions:

    - Give her a less angry expression

    - Add some textured hair where the hair mesh meets the forehead for a more seamless look

    - The neck looks too much like a V. Go for a more straighter look

    - Make the ends of the fabric transparent and give it a slightly frayed look

    - Remove/reshape the arm wrap mesh so it looks skin tight as it's just a thin fabric wrapped on the arms

    - Add some more detail to the eyebrows so it looks less painted on

    - The bit where the top of the boot meets the skin could use some simulated lighting to define it more

Could not have put it better, myself.. I definitely agree with this, DT.

  10. I've been weeks without sleeping it's not a problem.

How have you not gone crazy, then? :woot:..

Damn, I forgot how much I hate Tom Kane's Yoda.

It's not 'that' bad.. Anyhow, it's a Yoda voice, nonetheless and any Yoda voice that even remotely resembles Yoda, is better than no Yoda voice.

  11. So I figured that seeing as how we're all STAR WARS fans, in this community (Or at least I'd assume 95% of us are, otherwise why would you be here?)

I randomly came across this site, when trying to find out what the name of the blue orbs were, that was used by the Gungan army in Episode I: The Phantom Menace.. And my god! I've not laughed that hard in a long time. You can check it out here:
