  1. Not to try and self promote, given that the majority of these skins initially weren't created by me, but this should sum up a good portion of the kel dor skins/models that are available:
(These are really large images, be careful if you're viewing on a phone or something)

This "community pack" project was done back in 2012 though, I did intend to update it and make the folders more organised, a new set of icons, RGB the skins to condense the variations, add more options etc.. but it just never happened. I think reskins are your best bet. As much as I love them, keldors are weird. xD

This was back before frankensteining was a mainstream thing and less easily accessible to do yourself, so i'm sure a lot more is capable now. Having a keldor with a cape was amazing back then xD

  2. Maybe this leaves it open for a release with 2 options for the icons to choose from (once we finalize on the icon designs), one that's simplified with silhouettes mostly of the object/effect, and another with some slight detail to characterise the silhouette, as we all have our own preferences on what we like more :P

  3. ^ Yeah that's what my intention was to do, add more definition to the silhouettes Circa made so that it's easier to differentiate the weapons at a small scale. I hate saying it still but like the TF2 style xD

I've just been a little slower making any progress at the moment sorry, I get busy with things very quickly in my short amount of  free time lately. I'll try and make a start at some point today as i'm not at work on Mondays.

  4. Yeah i'd be happy to do some vectors, I see you took the logical approach with modview and creating silhouettes from the models. I was thinking more of creating everything from scratch :P your idea was definitely the smart one xD they look good so far.

Simplicity is definitely the key factor here, due to the scale that these will likely be shown (as they are on all fps games) you want to recognize the object for what event occurred instantly.

I'll try to have a bash at a few later tonight or tomorrow evening and do a few mockup screenshots so we can all get a better idea of how this would look once someone begins implementing the idea.

@@Circa I think with your weapon icons we need to add a little definition so it's not simply a silhouette. It will just make the icons look a little nicer, refer to the team fortress ones, they are going to heavily be my inspiration, everything about that game's art style appeals to me.

  5. This is a great idea, if you're saying that it would possible to implement? I'm surprised no one has attempted it before.

I always loved team fortress's approach to it:

Giving it a little bit more than just a side-on silhouette of the weapon used, and some subtle colour to the effect.

Let's see what Circa comes up with after he's got some ideas together for the icons :P i'm guessing these should be made primarily as a vector in Adobe Illustrator to a  standard oblong resolution (or just A4 landscape for example) so they can be scaled and exported afterwards to the desired size and they can then all be created to the same scale.

  6. This was funnily enough the first "ported" non-JKA 3d model that I looked into when I started looking at frankensteining and going beyond reskins. Now that I can do frankensteins and i'm getting the hang of rigging models, i'm trying to figure out weighing so I do want to return to a deadpool model; I remember the ones that guy called Yoda or something? From the filefront/JK3files days used to make with his ironman reskins of the shadowtrooper and his attempt at deadpool doing the same thing xD

Don't count on me to get it done though, someone else is more than welcome to if they want to get this ported model in-game, but it's something I will try and look into at some point - it won't be uploaded here though for obvious reasons, so if I ever get it in-game or start on it it i'll let you know @

  7. Okay here's the download, all of his body parts are tied to the pelvis bone without weights so good luck using this version ingame xD

I have attached PSD templates for you to work from, with each model part/segment tagged and separated by a different colour block/layer; you should be able to figure it out. They should also open fine in GIMP should you not have Photoshop. I have also included .skin files with each different skin option available; tunic (both wizard sleeved for jedis, and tight sleeve/gauntlet type for siths), robed and hooded with template textures to get you started. Don't worry about any imperfections, clipping etc it will make sense when it's released (the tendrils won't hang outside the back of the hood like they will for you with this file!).

If you could PM me your files when you have created something, or post a link to them in here if you wish. Thankyou for your future contributions, I look forward seeing what you come up with!

@@Kualan @@Jrue @ and anyone else who wants to have a go. I'm not asking for "experts only" hell I know i'm not as far as retexturing goes :P If you can do reskins and want to give it a go then be my guest, it will be interesting to see what design and maybe tattoo/markings you come up with. Remember that this uses the same body as used in the jedi/sith spanki skinpacks so that will give you a good starting point/ideas with the body appearance.

  8. So I decided to work some more on finishing up that TFU Kit Fisto kitbash i've had lying around for far too long now, and I asked one of my buddies - Omicron to have a go at making a reskin for me, this is what he's come up with so far. It's still a WIP:

This suddenly brought dejavu and I remembered back when Inyri was making that awesome ME3 Geth model - http://jkhub.org/topic/554-me3-geth/page-4?do=findComment&comment=7459 a couple years ago. You can view the progression and the skins people created for it following that link. She provided a link to a modview-viewable version of the model (without any weights etc for animations in-game), and skin textures for us to recreate our own versions of the skin to be included in the release. I figured maybe this could be an idea for the kit fisto model, if anyone would be interested? By no means am I trying to assume i'm on par with her model, but I figured that this could be a cool project and people might be interested in creating something unique with this model and taking part in a collaboration :P it would be good for us to have a few more occasions where we can all work together on something.

If you would be interested in participating and producing a reskin to be included in the pack let me know in the responses down below. If you're just wanting the model to put your own frankensteins together then bugger off! xD just be patient as this is the final stage now, it won't be much longer to wait for it.

    Here's a screenshot of the skin, a pretty old version of it though.. to give you an idea of the skin;

    JneRDhA.jpg

it's basically the hapslash robes (or the jedi/sith spanki ones as that will make it easier to know what i'm talking about), with the TFU kit fisto head. There is also a hooded variant which isn't included in the screenshots. I have already created an RGB version that will work similarly to the base twi'lek model, and a sith version based off of the "unidentified nautolan sith", but I think it would be pretty cool if people wanted to get involved and make a variant for the pack ^_^ let me know in the responses below if you think this is a good idea and want to take part!

  9. Well as far as i'm aware, in Xycaleth's version you can't yet turn off transparency, which causes issues for skins which depend upon RGB customisation as certain textures will just be transparent rather than showing the RGB/Alpha area of the texture, Although I much prefer it to the old modview, for this function, and being able to bolt items to already bolted items (hand > hilt > modview saber object) I tend to mix between the two. But this problem has ocurred since changing display output, which seems odd to me when it hasn't effected any other program.

  10. I recently downgraded from my 27" monitor (2560x1440) to my TV screen (1920x1080). Since changing over when I use modview the zoom/rotation guestures (left click/right click) are very irregular and make it almost impossible to position models how I want them. It's worth noting that the rest of the program works fine though, and Xycaleth's modview beta works fine, it's just with the original Modview program.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know what would be causing this? I haven't had any issues with any other programs or anything computer-related since switching my display output so i'm confused with why this is occurring.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Exactly, I think pretty much every model you are requesting there was never finished xD

Also note how each blog post you referenced says "status: WIP", it wasn't declared that it was a finished model to begin with.

Only a few of the models we all wanted to see finished were ever released from Hapslash, so your chances are very slim dude. As I said though, there are worthy alternatives on here, just give the website a browse and you will find what you are looking for.

I guess DT could arguably be the modern day version of Hapslash xD as he also created a darth maul model that you will like.

And this is probably the best darth vader model, made by Toshi.
